  • Welcome to my boat rebuild series on my 1983 20' Sea Ox.
I'm fiberglassing the stringers with 6" wide 1708 fiberglass tabbing and encapsulating them with chopped strand mat. It ain't the prettiest. I had to grind a few spots, but it'll do the job. I decided to just put the CSM on the sides without wrapping it over the stringer, since I didn't add a radius. I'll be running peanut butter over the stringers when installing the deck, which will seal in what I grinded down.
In order to drain the fish box, I ran the 2" pvc from the fish box to the bilge secured with peanut butter & fiberglass tabbing. The next step is to weld the fuel tank brackets, pressure test, and install it in the boat - next week!

That's ok we understand 😆. I wish I could do some of this myself. Not that I don't understand it no its because I'm disabled. I miss fishing and working on my boat that I have to sell. Watching theses videos make me feel better about my situation. So Thank You and you are doing great!! 👍

Some restore jobs can be so big that once you're finished, you wish you had just build one from scratch lol. Forrest here in the video did it right in finding someone else's half finished project.

How did you get the polyester resin to stick to wood? Did you prep the wood a certain way before glassing??? Many thanks in advance!!

The fiberglass resin will not stay sealed watertight because it’s made with oil based Material should use fiberglass tubing.

Do you have a friend that could help with camera work while you record time lapse of the work? You might need a cameraman....
