showing the reality of the industry, i can see the stress in your eyes lol this business is constant problems but character evolving for sure , thats why we love it
While that sounds like a lot of fun, it also can lead to legal and reputation damages. Especially considering I’d be leaving the mess in the driveway of someone who didn’t book or load the dumpster. Lots of factors to consider.
Ok. I"m already subscribed. I've already like. Now I'm commenting! The juggling of bins is a problem I'm looking forward to! I've had my 3 bins finally fitted for my truck and 2 are decaled. I've had one rental so far (The day after I decaled the first one someone called for a rental) Now i'm hustling trying to get more rentals. But I started in Nov/Dec because I knew it was going to be slow and it would give me time to get my name out there. We'll see how it progresses as we go along.
I imagine in your market the next couple months would be slow no matter what. Time to take some nice pictures and get some good social media marketing campaigns ready.
Lol we had one that was supposed to be metal and some left over insulation. My driver got there and there were chunks of a concrete porch hanging out of the top and the booking party didn't see a problem with it because it's "construction material" 😅
Great content and info MAXCO question iam in Texas I started a dumpster service I started with 2. Bin max D and I just purchased 2 lonestar heavy duty now I have four how do you go on charging a daily rate after your paid rental days and what’s is a good rate thank you in advance JAZ SERVICE
Thanks JAZ! I use Docket for invoicing which allows me to save the card used on file. Outlined in my customer agreement (contract) is the additional charges. After 2 days I charge $25 a day, but your day rate should be determined by your inventory size, how quickly you sell out of dumpsters, and the market you’re in. If you struggle to keep inventory on hand - charge high amounts ($50-$100). If you have 100 dumpsters and 30 of them are sitting - charge low amounts ($10-$25).
Thank you this helps I don’t have an agreement in place I’ve had dumpsters overfill and I just strap down everything and deal with it just afraid they won’t call me back with more business How much would be to get a template of your agreement in place so I can use it or modify to my market
@@jazlawncare7126 both Docket and DRS have had template contracts that I tweaked and added to over time. To make it 100% legit you should get it signed off on by a lawyer, but just getting any agreement together is better than no agreement.
Been in the heavy equipment business for several years. Same thing different industry. The guy who called for the equipment is not the guy operating it or greasing it or taking care of it. That guy treats it like shit and then it’s returned beat up, out of fuel and damaged. The boss who ordered it sees the bill and calls me to argue. Same deal, the guys loading the dumpster don’t work for the guy paying for the dumpster so they don’t care if it’s loaded properly. Not his money, if it’s full someone else will have to pay for it. Not his problem. The world we live in.
Crazy never thought about that
It’ll definitely happen. More often than you’d imagine!
Ha ha gotta love it. It’s amazing how you can put stickers on the side and no one seems to be able to read them 🤔
The worst part is most know, but try to push their limits to see where they can save money.

The dumpster at my job looks like this every time it gets dumped.
I can guarantee you the driver has stuff falling off his truck with every pick up. It’s very unsafe for the other people on the road with them.
Looks like half the ones I see at work lol
Your poor driver. 😅
