Tomek_PL : Indeed. Lovely inside and out. Would have liked to know a bit more about her motoring setup, but it’s a stunning boat for 25 feet. Mr. Freeman did a good deed in this world indeed, when he turned his mind to boat design...
Thank you for this video! I didn’t know Fisher made anything other than pilot house models. I hope I can find one of these in North America. It is perfect and I’m in love!
Fishers are our favorite boats, have been since the 70s, when our marina neighbors lived aboard their fisher 30. I have never seen the 25' here in Vancouver B.C. I doubt there are any in Canada, though maybe on the east coast. They certainly are more than capable of sailing across the Atlantic from the U.K. She certainly is a beauty and you guys are lucky to have her. I'm trying to put time on my retirement project, a Vivacity 20 needing a full restore. Glad I just found this channel, your Fisher stopped me right away. Happy sailing.
One of the things I dislike about the Pilot House 25 is the raised foredeck. At my age I loved the bulkwarks and walk around to the windlass on my F-30, and the idea of scrambling on the cabin top while wrestling the anchor did not appeal. But low and behold... nice clear fore deck on the freeward ! Now that are circustances are reduced, I think the Freeward will likely suit us quite well.
The construction and motion of the fishers are first rate. There are 3 versions of the 25. The pilot house versions are so expensive, that the bit extra you pay for a 30 is very well spent, the fishing version is a fine vessel, but the accomodations are horrid, impossible for old people, and the pilot house is so cramped a second person cannot be comfortable in it. The Freeward seems to sell for 1/3rd the cost of the Pilot house version. Brilliant !
So that is the one foot of length Knut Olsen was searching so badly when he had finished the Bandholm 24. And this way you are finally able to sleep in the front starboard bunk. And looking at the Bandholm I´d recommend to use a well-crafted starcut jib rather than the genoa when going upwind. No need to miss the Folkeboat.
This was posted 5 years ago but I hope you are both still sailing/motoring with fair winds and calm seas. I have recently bought a Huskey 24 Hustler which in many respects is a near match for your boat in terms of size, hull shape and rig. I cant find a single thing about these types of boat other than the basic Specs and loads of 'for sale videos' Seeing as your boat is so similar, it was useful to watch how she handled underway but I have a question you may be able to answer, if not you then perhaps someone else that is familiar with these displacement hull motor sailers could give me their view. What keel does your boat have, mine is a shoal draft bilge keel drawing only 0.8 mtr. That makes me wonder how she will handle on the open water. We do not intend to do any Ocean crossings and like yourselves will be sparkly water sailors. secondly I see you have an OFF No plate as does mine. However honestly I do not know how to interpret the info contained on it, could you explain it please. Any comments (helpful ones) from anybody with knowledge particularly of the Huskey 24 would be very welcomed.
That couple on the pontoon weren't boaty types, interesting how he ignored the warp and she picked it up but didn't look like she knew why, least of all how to tie a bowline in it to drop over a cleat.... I hope you found someone to show you how to reeve the mainsheet so it doesn't twist up like that.
Great video ,many thanks I love your boat , I am looking now sailboat I want to sailing to the island of Mauritius. I am waiting for November all boats will be for sale very not expensive 25 footer I hopping getting for $ 1,800 dollars. I was sailing for 6 years around the world all my photos on my Facebook page. Always welcome. I am living on the garden island of Kauai. Fair winds and following seas
I agree, these are wonderful boats, we have owned one for 8 years and are now selling it. She is a lovely example, based in Keyhaven on the Solent. She is listed on Appolloduck (ID 637842) for £12,450 (negotiable) www.apolloduck.co.uk/boat/fisher-freeward-25/637842
Extremely nice, seaworthy boat. I’ve just retired, living aboard my mint condition 1965 Ariel. You’ve got a keeper!
God bless David J Freeman. Excellent eternal design.

So nice to see such a clean well kept interior
Lovely couple and a lovely boat!
this guy's wife has the patience of a saint - he just never lets her get a word in !
This boat is so beautifull!!! so practical and capable for 25 feet!!
Yet again: there are many sailing channels - but this is the most interesting.
Thank you for this video! I didn’t know Fisher made anything other than pilot house models. I hope I can find one of these in North America. It is perfect and I’m in love!
Looks a good mix of motorboat & sailor, I like the wooden fendering down the side.
nice to learn every week about new boats
This is the best boat indeed, regards to wisdom of the owner and his wife.
'tis a joy to visit your lovely vessel. I'm landlocked at the moment.
Thanks vsry nice boat even though she plastic she still has that traditional look
I love these 2, wish they were my parents.
Strange thing to wish for unless your parents were or are absolute monsters to you!

Lovely pocket boat i would really like to get one of these .
Your comments and the tour are most welcome. The freewards are often ignored, but represent a fine value.
The Samphire 26 is a great old boat. They love the rough weather.
Where is she moored Fredrick?
Not sure where this on is. Contact the broker. The one I looked at a few months ago sold. I was the third offer on her. She was real mint.
Twenty five feet? Incredible!

She's a beauty! Looks very roomy for a 25'
Hell for stout, those Fishers. I admire the North Sea trawler aspects. Fast is good, but I will gladly trade sprinting speed for room and safety.
25 feet? Seriously?
Lovely!

I prefer the wheel house version, because it prolongs the season in our cold & chilly climate.
If I could find one in west coast of North America, I would buy it.
I wonder how a fully battened main would work on this vessel ?
She is a beauty and very pracktical too.....just 25feet!!!!!! 😀

What are the numbers on the black sign? I see that on a lot of sailboats. Thanks
