The meta has changed a lot in Borderlands 3 and these are the 4 horsemen that ruled it all to begin with. If you could freeze Borderlands 3 at any point in time what meta did you enjoy the most?
Mayhem 4 meta would make a good video IMO. A lot of people, myself included, consider that to be the best point in the game with builds like Chain Zane, Driver Amara, Gamma Burst FL4K, and Bullet Hose Moze.
This is definitely a throwback to bl3. Taking the original Flakker through the 1st round of the revenge of the Cartels was some of the funnest bl3 gameplay.
The original Flakker had already been nerfed before cartel arrived. Hell it was nerfed before the halloween event. Back then you only farmed Slaughter Shaft to get gear. Blowing up entire waves on immortal moze with the original flakker was amazing!
I feel that way about some of the guns that are on tier lists today, like the Free Radical. Yeah, I know, the Free Radical not having damage? Definitely something wrong with my build. Except, it wasn't. I went and farmed up another couple, and my 3rd Radical had almost twice the damage of the first one I got, not including elemental damage, and it's not even a god roll Free Radical. Far from saying the cutsman is in the same boat, but damn RNG can really kick you in the dick in games like this.
@@Nekufan1000000 Honestly I think Free Radical is one of the bigger examples of how RNG can really change a gun. The weakest (level 72 m10) Free Radical has 65k card damage, while the strongest has 125k card damage. That's almost double damage from part rolls alone.
@@Nekufan1000000 that's possible, getting god rolls and anoints was too tedious, it completely turned me off from the post game after I finished all the dlcs on mayhem 11 If there was a better way to farm anoint, I would've stuck around for the takedown
Love that we are still getting legendary BL3 videos by SGZ! just goes to show how great of a game it is. Having played through all of the BL games this one is by far my absolute favorite personally.
the hardest challenge at launch and prolly was the hardest content BL3 was mayhem 3 slaughtershaft. the first month of the game, annointed enemy spawns were ludicrous. on most maps youd have 6 annointed emies who at the time were immune to cryo at any given time and every other enemy was a hardened shielded badass with ACTUAL rocket launchers.
Started with Moze on launch day and since Iron Bear was pretty underwhelming back then, switched to Lyuda for Graveward farming and a bit after that switched to x2 projectiles elemental Lumps and Protuberance shotguns. It absolutely wrecked everything. Good times!
Honestly, they could put the bug back into the lyuda and I wouldn’t be sad about it. I don’t think it’s put it back on too, but would make it more fun to use again.
My problem is that all of the early weapons like cutsman, lob and more Op, Top or decent guns which was insane on mayhem 4 just was garbage as mayhem 10 came around. The damage they got for each additional mayhem level wasn't enough for what the enemies health, shield and armor got. That is especially to see that all of the weapons which came out after mayhem 10 are more balanced around that as the one that just got the upgrade that the mayhem levels gave them. I hope they learned out of this mistake and make it better in BL4
The ludya is just a minigun on Moze and any ammo regen makes it funny, the call pistols are still falls best bossing weapons and the rest well there kinda bad
Id consider butcher being in the og meta more than the call, yeah it was nerfed before butcher, but a lot of people didnt even know about the call gun till it was too late nor got their hands on one. The butcher has had its teeth kicked in through nearly the entirety of borderlands 3's development but thankfully back up to being the champion it deserves to be.
Talking about original meta then not using the Pipebomb feels pretty sad, that grenade would absolutely melt everything, I remember using it to shred grave ward for a few hours and went from level 30 to 50 in one day in week one of the game lol. I miss the old days
Kings call is made for Flak(megavore). They are nasty on a Ties Amara as well. Cutsman- I agree Lyuda is best on Flak and Moze. I don't have any problem with any character doing content and that's what I love about this game. I've maxed them all out and they all are very good
@@RemingtonSteel yes but amara struggles on boss fights with those builds unless you go melee, then you can kill everything in the game with just that build. But i agree that amara with ties is amazing in most cases, especially mobbing. I've played flakk the least so i can't say much about him but i think there might be better weapons for him i don't know.
@@OneMadCat Flak has a skill called Megavore that makes almost everything a crit. So the the kings call richocet effect happens on every shot. He is the best for the "call weapons"(rowans, lucians, king/queens) but Flak does have better weapons. I'm an Amara main and yeah, she does struggles with bosses. I use high DOT build. I can shoot Wotan once and the DOT stays on through all his stages. It's a tricky build. You could use a Driver/Laucher/ Infernal Wish set up and one shot most bosses. Moxsy had a video on it
@@Jc-go3mz I should've said "feels" like it happens on every shot since on high fire rate weapons(Roman's, Lucians etc) you are getting the Megavore proc so often per second.

Richocet witc/ additional projectiles
Torgue and/or Two-Fang Fl4k

@@MacaqueStinx Still really good.
I love BL3 just for the fact that you don't need to min/max your character to have fun, and these guns still prove it.
Damn right!
Unless you’re running mayhem 10 😂
@@ludwigtheholyblade777 not really
Absolutely bro even with not so meta guns i still have such a fun time both grinding for said guns and actually using them too
That's mainly due to how easy this game is
I remember when the Maliwan takedown came out and all of a sudden my load out wasn’t doing anything lol. Ahh the good old days.
Haha fun times
Op4 doable build, no modded guns needed!
Mayhem 4 meta would make a good video IMO. A lot of people, myself included, consider that to be the best point in the game with builds like Chain Zane, Driver Amara, Gamma Burst FL4K, and Bullet Hose Moze.
Surely the Pipe Bombs should be on the list.
Yes sir, don’t forget the Recursion.
Don't forget the Crossroads. That was in a lot of builds early until GB nerfed it to oblivion.

That's what i like about BL3, almost every single legendary weapon and every single build has a chance to shine.
ah😔 i always wanted the tsunami buff🥺
I remember seeing the cutsman on a tier list. After getting it I had the same reaction as you did- "where is the damage"

The Tunguska? That was a beast at launch before the nerf, no one uses it now

I hope they don’t fuck up the difficulty in borderlands 4 I just finally started dominating mayhem 10 after getting all the right anointed weapons
Can you make a video what skills for every character you use? How did you get the vault cards?
Vault Cards are part of the second batch of DLC.
Genuine question : can you still do that overpowered ability where if you switch to let’s say a nukem does the flanker still get that insane damage?
Flaker I mean studios auto translate
