    In preparation for the imminent Spring Festival travel rush, considered the world's largest annual human migration, more than 50 maintenance centers for high-speed trains are working hard to guarantee a safe journey for Chinese passengers. CGTN reporter visits one of the centers, in central China's Wuhan, to learn about what happens behind the scenes.

    Planning and executing the regular maintenance of all these high tech high speed trains is what keeps all of them working round the clock. Great job, I salute the many many engineers, technicians and admin staff working behind the scene to a great working high speed train system in China.
    Fantastic, but it does not come easily as lots of work needed. Thanks.

    It's truly pathetic that my country, the UK, could not even build a single high speed train line. They literally gave up after years of "trying".

      You can do a lot when economics don't matter in the short term, and you have a brutal dictatorship that nobody can say no to. Many high speed lines in china run at a huge deficit, and given their long track record of building junk, let's see how the rail infrastructure holds up in the future. Tofu dreg railroads? Personally, I'll take a democracy over government subsidized high speed trains any day. :)

    I traveled on the Maglev train in Shanghai some years ago before the speed was restricted. Now that was an awesome ride indeed! Also, I had the pleasure of working with Chinese scientists on the molten salt nuclear reactor concept and they were really on top of the game. It is incredible to see the advances being made there while outside of China in the west there is nothing that can compare with the development of infrastructure such as city buildings and transportation. But my heart always soars like an eagle when I'm in the mountains of China. Truly beautiful.

      They probably need higher levels of maintenance because of the severity of a negative outcome if there is a parts failure at high speed. Though considering the very low rate of incidents involving Chinese trains it shows it works.
      Additionally as this is before a big holiday travel season it also reduces the risks of any delays during such a busy season. Any such delays can ripple throughout the network as a result.

    Shanghai's Bullet Train Depot use robots for maintenance. The robots are equipped with dual-arm robot technology, vision technology, and image recognition technology. Real high speed trains Europe has 3,966 km (2,464 mi) and other 3,000 km (1864 mi) in construction. China has 45,000 km (28,000 mi) . The USA has 0 km (0 mi) . Why? Because these trains are not built for short term profits but to provide fast access between major metropolitans and an opportunity for not the super rich but the middle class to evolve and grow. They are built for society's benefit and not for the elite's gain. (PS: I am anti-communist super pro-capitalist, but love facts)

    • @triage2962

      China did way to much high speed tracks where normal trains would be enough and thats why they burn money like crazy.

    • @thetruthalwaysscary
      @thetruthalwaysscary 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@triage2962 nope, China plans and infrastructure is about long term and the largest resources are humans. The system is not about profit but convenience and the benefit for society. I have read a study about the subject and if you think China did too much i guess you think Europe did too much as well and maybe the USA doing nothing is the best...right? Real high speed trains in Europe are serving 120 million people compared to China 1.4 billon are pretty much in similar ratio. The issue is that China is a single country and mass transit is important. Alos China push hydro and nuclear power plants and the trains are electric.

    • @triage2962
      @triage2962 11 месяцев назад

      @@thetruthalwaysscary Chinas infrastructure is not made for the need it is made for the political party plan and that was never effective or well planed. So they build highspeed trains like cazy in even remote areas with no need for them.
