Roosevelt Elk on Vancouver Island- A great video shoot with these amazing animals.

With fall arriving that means the start of the elk rut here on Vancouver Island. The Roosevelt elk is the largest of the 4 subspecies of North American Elk with large bulls weighing over 1200lbs . Elk are the largest land mammals on Vancouver Island and we get to see some spectacular bulls in this video. We will be using the Nikon Z8 with the ftz adapted 200-500 5.6 F mount lens.

Excellent video, you are so right that Vancouver Island has so much to photograph. I have lived on V.I. for 75 years and it has only been the last 15 years since I retired and got into wildlife photography that I realized what we really have on our island. I just have started to get into a little video work as well but I am still in the learning process. Thanks for sharing and I am really enjoying your videos.
