A conversation I had with my son(8 years old) went like this:
Son- what is racism?
Mom- when people judge someone based on the color of their skin rather than their character. We follow the example of the Bible in which God judges by the content of the heart, not what someone looks like
Son- if God makes peoples color why would we judge them by it?

I had a mixed child white/black in the early 2009 in a small southern Georgia town and oh my the stares and whispers that came and now I am married to a black man…we have 14 year old boy 8 year old boy who is autistic also and a 1 year old little girl my biggest fear is for my boys and he ran into his first time racial slurs being said to him and I had to remind him that he is fearfully and wonderfully made in Christ and he has a great purpose ❤

As a mixed Muslim family when my husband wasn’t born in America and neither was I. my husband and I have plans to discuss this with our children. Especially because of the way America is. Especially when our daughters wear hijab. It’s so important to have these real conversations with your children and hats off to the both of you for acknowledging that! My husband is a die hard waffle crisp lover. He brings it up everytime we are down the cereal isle why don’t they bring it back. But like 2 years ago we found some at a Walmart and he bought like 6 boxes 😂 so we keep our eye out every time!

My girls were 11 & 22 months old when my son was born. He wore so many pink jammies, sleepers & onesies it never was an issue. He went on to play college football and is a 6ft 5 father of 3 of his own.
