  • I got a research mentor for my science fair project when I was in 7th grade. I'm now a freshman at Harvard and have done several research projects with mentors. This video is a full guide for middle schoolers and high schoolers about how to get a science research mentor for your science fair project or publication.

    0:22 when you said even a middle schooler could do it, tears literally filled my eyes and like a smile stretched across my face like no joke. I’ve been super interested in learning and research so thank you so much for these videos.

    Rishab hope you are doing great. I mean how are you so good, alsoooo you are a miracle for students like who are just clear their 3rd semester in BS biotech, and really interested in doing research. Also want to publish paper. May you succeed more. Actually, at the start of my degree I really thought how can make my degree a top notch. So I thought to research. But there is no guidance for me, I literally cried. Now I believe everything happens at its own time. Really happy to found you. Thankyou for making this, want to be your fellow. 😅❤ And again may you succeed more.

    Hey Rishab! I have a few questions. I'm currently planning to submit a solution to the 3M Young Scientist Challenge committee by April 15, and I'm currently in the process of creating research questions according to your process, and have been researching and narrowing these topics for the last 30 days. Do you think I should get a mentor beforehand, or should I wait till I get to the 3M Young Scientist Challenge and then get a mentor if I am not selected. Also, when you mentioned the literature review, would you recommend me to write one, or to just absorb the knowledge in the current field? Thanks!

    hi rishab! This year is my first time doing science fair. Where do u recommend getting posters printed? Would u recommend a flat one or a trifold board?

    Hello, Rishab, I am a high school junior who is on the second trimester out of 3 tris. Right now at this point, isn't it too late for me to start the research paper and write about it on my college application? I heard that normally the research project takes around 1 year which is too late for me. Is this true? What if the whole process takes less than 8 months, I think I am still eligible for conducting the research.

    Rishab, what are some good clubs and extracurriculars to join, to aim for Ivy League Collages?

    • @RishabJainK
      @RishabJainK  6 месяцев назад

      I'd recommend research as a great extracurricular! If you're not interested in research, then try some clubs where you do stuff like robotics, history fair, etc. Otherwise, honestly, just do what you love! You'll be great in whatever you find the most fun.

    Absolutely loved the video Rishab. But I had a quick question-
    Just think that I want to do an experiment with 'X' in a 'Y' method. But this X is not described enough in highschool syllabus. So in order to conduct the research on X I need an expert, who knows all of the properties and other stuffs related to X and might even conducted research via Y method and who will help me in getting to know this stuffs. So my qus is how can I find this expert guy who knows X &Y?

    • @RishabJainK
      @RishabJainK  6 месяцев назад +1

      You might not find an X&Y person if you’re doing something new! Instead, talk to experts who did both X and Y separately.

    What is best practice for the timeline of contacting research mentors and professors? If it is winter now, should I be eager to send out emails soon for this summer and next year or do I have some time?

    • @RishabJainK
      @RishabJainK  5 месяцев назад +1

      I’d say you have about 3 months. Summer positions & time commitment of mentored will get filled up in the next few months, so I’d start emailing now!

    Hello Rishabh. I got a question. I’m planning to participate in ISEF this year and I want to do a research project with the Electroencephalogram (EEG). I also wrote a literature review research paper related to this topic. But I don’t have access to an EEG to conduct original research. Do you have any ideas that could help me pursue a research project related to the EEG?

    • @susmitdas
      @susmitdas 5 месяцев назад

      I also wanted to do a research project related to this topic, but I don't have an EEG as I have no idea which one to get as all of them are pretty expensive. And the cheap ones don't seem to be that good in quality. I also need help on this subject as I've been wanting to do this for so long.
