@@davidwitt5585 “too sensitive” is relative, different people have different dynamics to their relationships. “HAH you’re poor” is fine between some people but not others
@@davidwitt5585 I made the comment because I don't think it was playful. CGB was flexing on the guy he continually targets and shows disdain for. I think that CGB and Blake are frenemies, rather than friends, with the friend/enemy ratio hard to calculate without seeing them in other contexts. There's definitely tension between them. What I think happened is Blake was occupying the spot in the show that CGB usually takes, and CGB felt "threatened". So CGB was used his wealth as a blunt instrument to win social capital. If the comment had seemed playful or their relationship seemed strong, I might agree with you.
Just some clarification on Archon of Coronation. It is kind of weird since you still lose monarch if a creature hits you. All damage is still dealt, it just doesnt cause you to lose life. So things like commander damage and lifelink would still apply as well.
Worst Possible Commander: The Musical! Featuring: CGBLake - As lead singer CGB - As back up singer Shea and Ben - As the Captive Audience 10 out of 10 will watch again
On tonight’s show: CGB and Shea clash in a fierce battle for the monarchy even as Ben’s elementals invade the kingdom, causing the very earth to turn against them… Meanwhile, in his secret lab, the mad scientist Blake cackles as his evil plan to take over the world with an infinite army of ornithopters is finally coming to fruition…
I just want to congratulate CGB for the amazing victory. There was just something about him this episode that seemed... different. I don't know if it was his dashing good looks or the way he let his opponents tower over him to create a false sense of superiority. Well played.
That heart of the cards pick for sword of the meek to establish the combo was EPIC! Go Blake, and good for you for going for the combo in the face of bluffs to take the game, you deserve it mono blue value engine player, you are my spirit animal!!
I love how Blake embodied one of CGB's philosophies, which is patience as a wincon. All the prep and planning paid huge dividends at the end. Congrats!
Holy crap. What a wild one!!! Shit, all four decks were awesome and swung in power at certain points of the game. Love it. Best commander games on the RUclips.
so what happend in the CGBs turn @ 44:52 that got cut? I guess he played his copy guy to get monarch and afterwards played the titan and put a shield counter on it and destroyed the banner with the other trigger from the titan?
Yeaaah! Well done Blake! I loved that you got to do the thing and swing through for the win this time. Previously every time you popped off you would die because you made yourself a threat. I feel like these last few games of playing low threat decks was all part of your elaborate plan to lull everyone into a false sense of security. Hahaha.
Well that was super entertaining. Great game to everyone. The singing was actually pretty impressive! I keep finding myself wanting to play Blake’s decks, so keep it up. Win or lose, Blake, still fun to watch! It was about Tymn-ya got another one, dad joke buddy, haha!
Glad to see there is justice in the world. People talk about lucky top decks but Blake derailed the chugging value train (magpie, ooze, soulherder) with the (basically) double board wipe by himself and got hit for 22 trample damage as a thank you. In the end all this made his comeback *infinitely* more satisfying.
Blake has got to play some sort of lantern control deck with a ton of topdeck manipulation on the show, with all the nuts topdecks he has it'd be so funny.
I'm just getting back into paper magic (for Dreamhack Dallas @CovertGoBlue). Where do you get sleeves that will stay in a pile and not slip off the top of the deck with the wind from my breath? :)
Pretty sure CGB played the soulherder lagrella interaction wrong. At the beginning of end step soulherder triggers. Targeting lagrella goes on the stack. Pass priority. Soulherders triggered ability resolves "blinking" lagrella. During the resolution of a spell or an ability no other abilities/spells will be put on the stack. Lagrella enters the battlefield as a brand new permanent. TRIGGERS! Now it's either last known information or a delayed trigger or both that causes Lagrella's leave the battlefield ability to trigger. IDK. So we have soulherder's "whenever" +1+1 ability trigger, old lagrella's "leave the battlefield" ability, AND new-to-the-battlefeild lagrella's ETB ability to trigger. New legrella must put legal targets for her new ETB ability on to the stack before any of these 3 triggers can begin to resolve. None of the creatures exiled with old lagrella are legal targets because they are in exile not the battlefield. TL;DL soulherder can't exile a creature, let a bunch of triggers to resolve, and then allow the blinked creature to return to the battlefield. Let me know what you think. Always I appreciate the content.
Yeah you're right - it's also the same thing as the interaction with Clever Impersonator later on - because the ability must declare targets at the point it's put on the stack, you can't re-exile the same creatures that were previously exiled with Lagrella when she's flickered
Just loved the beginning. I thought maybe CGB was travelling and thats why you made this bit & there was someone new in Blakes seat for the game - then I realised that you just where doing this randomly and CGB just swapped seats. Got me giggling ngl
Only 9 million? those are rookie numbers. you gotta pump those numbers up. lmao wtg BLAKE!!!!!!!!!! Also, your New RUclips channel rocks, just a quick shoutout for anyone that reads my comment !!!
Nice, finally Blake got a nice one, gratz :D :D :D or should i say CGBlake, if you cant beat then join them i guess 😂 Thou mayor respect to Ben and his choices of shirts for every episode, had to pause on multiple occasions on this one to catch the whole text 😂
I was staring at Blake's combo for awhile, instead of making infinite thopters, couldn't it make infinite mana? Maybe I misunderstood, but @49:20 Blake says you can't make infinite mana, but I feel like if instead of making the second thopter you just sacced the first thopter to the alter you would end up +1 mana. To me, it seems each cycle can net you either 1 colorless mana and 1 life, or 1 thopter and 2 life
Blake almost had me convinced he was the real CGB...until I noticed he didn't do the beaver shuffle. 🤔 Imposter! Great game! Didn't see that one coming...congrats to Blake the infinity caster!
Watched till the end. And while Blake’s plays were great, imma stay #teamshea 😂. Really tho I really enjoy watching these games and working my way through the playlist!
18:00 ARGH! I THOUGHT I ESCAPED THE THEATER KIDS SINGING HAMILTON! SPOILER All Credit to Neon CovertGoBlue. You really wove together and sought out the perfect line of plays to secure you the win.
I'm happy Blake finally got to pull off a huge combo after all the times he's gotten denied. Now I want to see someone try to do the meme combo of putting all cards in the command zone lol
I had a doubt on Blake's combo with Foundry+Altar+Sword, 'cause it seemed to me that you couldn't get infinite thopter this way, but you could get infinite colorless mana. I looked up the combo and it was that way: you get infinite colorless, infinite ETB/LTB, infinite lifegain and deaths' trigger. Still, congrats Blake for your winning :)
It does though: one mana for the first sac of Sword of the Meek. Create 1 thopter. Return the sword to it. Sac the Thopter for two mana. You now have two instances of that first cycle, so you end up with two thopters. Sac one of those, repeat for another two instances of the first cycle. The entirety of the cycle nets 1 thopter (and 2 life, if you wanted to nitpick, Blake should have had 18 mil life) The mana doesn't go infinite in this loop. However, going infinite with the thopters first does obviously get you infinite colorless mana.
While I appreciate Blake’s combo win, can we all just admire that Ben was defeated by Maze of Ith?… you monsters could have given him a “take back” the first time, after that it’s 100% on him! 😆

Ben's 56:32 "I understand the last turn's conversation" moment is so pure 💗
It would be really fun if you guys all chose the same commander one game but built the decks completely differently

Congrats on the excellent win, Blake. A victory worthy of Cthulhu himself. (My favorite deck is sai, master thopterist 🤪)
I'm looking at the decklists currently and there's 3 decks with a control theme. I'm taking bets now on how many spells will get to resolve
Cgb’s deck is just a bant version of his Yorion deck lmao

doesnt the elemental cascade twice after being blinked back to owner?

Hey thanks 😏
Blake really did impersonate CGB the whole game. The new evil CGB is here.
Blake went from "one for all" to "all for one" in just a few a episodes. 😭😭😭
Blake went full on Himiko Toga in this episode and had his very own Villain Arc.
10/10 would watch (evil?) CGB again
I also experience a tad bit of sadness when Shea isn't playing green. Means the game isn't inevitably going to end in a Craterhoof smork as a wincon.
Blake almost had me convinced he was the real CGB...until I noticed he didn't do the beaver shuffle. 🤔 Imposter! Great game! Didn't see that one coming...congrats to Blake the infinity caster!

Blake: I have won by my force of will alone!!!! And 9 million god damn thopters.
Here's to the algorithm, I enjoy the content.
Sick that you went off with the Hunter x Hunter shirt on. Gon and Kilua would be proud. Your nen was on point today Sir Blake.

Fairly certain we lost CGB's turn at the 44-45min mark... :(
Good game. Thanx for sharing it with us
Blake's deck looks really spicy.
Blake made it to a life total and damaged number even Vegeta would be fearful of... So proud. 👏 🥲

Blake force-of-willed that win into existence!
That was defo over 9000
Vegeta be damned
Well now we know Blake's power level is OVER 9000000
