For anyone curious they do there dances twice one is for the judges to watch and it is not recorded and the other one is one that the judges don’t judge but it is recorded, Hope this helped❤️
I'm pretty sure they were recorded both times. The non judged one was for extra camera angles and close up shots, where a cameraman could get on stage with them
@BreierRudisill a few of the girls forgot their solos..so if already danced it beforehand without cameras, how did we the TV viewers saw the girls forget it must of all being filmed in one shot. Or the production team filmed both to see if a mess up happened to give the show more drama.
the last one is false, Abby was at the studio with the girls, the only difference was that Abbys mom also worked there and was the main teacher, which is part of why the girls were said when Abby said Ms. Miller was passing away.

Ofc, the moms thought it would be a great opportunity for their daughters to dance on this show to upgrade their dance skills. After the contract was signed for a show that would end up to s6, a few weeks later it was time for the ACTUAL show. In the interview, the producers could see the moms fighting and thought they were so crazy, one producer came up with an idea to change the show name to “Dance Moms” to view all the drama and fights on the show. The moms wouldn’t fight everyday cuz that’s js bad, but the producers would threaten them saying “if you don’t do this or that u won’t eat” so the moms were forced to do everything they say.
