From a global sport perspective Don Bradman's average of 99.94 seems the most untouchable. An almost otherworldly number.

Gretzky’s - and professional sport’s - greatest record is his point totals in his six prime seasons. No player has score 200 points in a season, except Gretzky. From the 81-82 season through the 86-87 he topped 200 points four times and in the two he didn’t he hit 183 and 196. So the record is he was able to AVERAGE over 200 points for six seasons, or roughly a third of his career while no one else to play the game ever reached that level.
To put that in perspective, that would be like someone averaging 104 home runs for six years in a row.

For cricket -Sachin Tendulkar's 34283 international runs , 100 centuries, 18,426 ODI runs, 15921 test cricket runs and Sir Don Bradman's test cricket average of 99.9 . These records will never be broken ( For Watchmojo - Cricket is also a sport and a very popular one indeed )

Barry Sanders would’ve crushed Peyton’s record and surpass anything Smith could’ve put up if he didn’t play on a dogshit team like the Lions. He had to retire before they got him killed or disabled.
Rickey Henderson broke the career stolen base record, and then played for 10 more seasons. He has almost 500 more than 2nd place. I think that one is safe.
Not to mention he holds the career record for runs scored and for unintentional walks.

Frank Thomas - Thomas is the only player in major league history to have seven consecutive seasons of a . 300 average and at least 100 walks, 100 runs, 100 runs batted in, and 20 home runs (1991-1997). The only other player to have more than five consecutive seasons accomplishing this feat was Ted Williams, with six. /Wikipedia
But that is kind of an arbitrary collection of stats, while impressive aren't really a record. You could also include Bonds having over 500 stolen bases and over 500 HRs

I think someone will break Steph’s record just cuz he changed the game and now everyone shoots the three ball. Even centers…. Doubt we will ever see a center like Shaq again…. As long as there are sports where you can compete in multiple events, phelps record could be broken, possibly by a swimmer only.
Barry Sanders would have broke Emmits record in 2004 with his average yds per season but Barry being Mr Humble retired way too early
Adrian Peterson probably could have done it too, had he played like 5 years earlier and didnt blow out his knee and lose a year

Glenn Hall played 502 consecutive complete games as a goalie in the NHL. In the last 20 years only a handful of goalies have played 70 out of 82 games in a season with the backup goalie playing the other games so the starter gets some rest. Last season only three goalies played 60 out of 82 games with the highest playing 64. There's no chance a goalie will play every game for six straight seasons and then 11 more games.

If the 3 point line hadn't been introduced LeBron would be several thousand points shy of Kareem
LeBron's made 2400 3's and is 2000 points ahead of Kareem, so, he'd be a few hundred points shy, potentially. Though, without the added payoff, he probably would have stepped up and made a higher percentage play, so it's hard to say for sure that he'd still be behind Kareem.
If you eliminate the 3-point line, Lebron trails Kareem by 322 points in 68 fewer games. He’ll likely pass Kareem (again) about 15 games into this season.

I remember back in 2008 I was actually laying down on my couch and I must have been asleep but then I woke up at the perfect time to see that moment when Michael Phelps got the gold medal by 1/100th of a second. The announcers went completely wild when that happened. Completely unforgettable moment
An honourable mention although one day it will probably fall is Bolt's 100m record. No-one is coming close to that anytime soon.
Essentially all the runners that had scores similar to the one of Bolt were accused of doping during these attempts

9:29 I'm actually surprised by this. I mean I've seen him be number one before but I guess I wasn't really watching tennis that much at the time. I watched tennis more back when Roger Federer was number one in the world for so long and I just assumed that he might have been number one longest.

Don Bradman has the most significant record : his batting average of 99.94.
The second best cricketer averaged 62.15%...
To put things into perspective, if Chamberlain and Gretzky points records were on pace with Bradman's performance :
1) Gretzky would had scored over 292 points in a season, instead of his actual 215!
2) Chamberlain would had scored almost 69 PPG during one entire season, instead of his record breaking performance of 50.2!

And a record that most people forget about: Connie Mack's record of 3,948 career losses as a manager. A manager would have to lose 100 games a year for 40 years to break that record, and I suspect most owners wouldn't put up with that (unless you were Connie Mack and owned your team).

You definitely should’ve included Gretzky scoring 50 goals in 39 games. With how much the game has changed since then, I highly doubt anyone will ever come close to that record.
Pelé's most unbreakable record is 1279 goals in his professional carrer. He is the best ever. In Brazil, he is the synonym of the best: Jordan: "Pelé of basketball". Phelps: "Pelé of swimming", etc.

F1's Max Verstappen's 10 win streak, just to name one that comes to mind.
I didn’t even look at this list, but the most unbreakable sports record was set about 2 weeks after I graduated from high school. The only reason this record might not get more respect is it is a high school record. But lets look at the record for a minute. Before 1979 the boys high school 12 pound shot put record was just over 72 feet. Before the end of the season Michael Carter had raised it to 77 feet. But Michael had one more meet. In that meet, Michael Carter threw the shot 81 feet, 3 feet 1/2 inches.Even more amazing, Michael still used the old school shuffle pivot and throw method no one uses anymore, preferring to use the discus method that Brian Oldfield began to use in 1975. Know also that Michael could have done much more damage internationally, but he signed an NFL contract with the San Francisco 49ers in 1983. At that time amateur rules would not allow him to keep his amateur status in-track while being paid in another sport. Now let’s look at what Michael did. First Michael raised the record nearly 9 feet in one season. Secondly, he uas now held the record for 45 years and in that time NO ONE HAS COMEWITHIN FOUR FEET OF IT!

Richard Petty has 200 CUP SERIES wins. The cup series is the top division of NASCAR. that's even more impressive. Kyle Busch has more than 200 NASCAR wins, but his are across the top three touring series
