I had one, which is the P205 model (that had the sim card slot, which I've once used it as my daily driver when it was new), but I hoped that there will be a new "Tab A with S Pen" series, but with 5G support and maybe, an AMOLED display. Currently, I'm still using it as my tablet for my fanarts of my favorite cartoons.
Not gonna happen unfortunately. Samsung has dropped the 11 inch flagship OLED model, and they only make basic budget A tablets so it's very unlikely samsung will ever make a flagship 8 inch tablet, or even an 8 inch tablet at all
I have this. It's used more than my samsung tab S8+ as it's so portable. Great on flights for videos and reading docs sometimes, saving battery life of my phone. They should release an new version of this. Video and sound are great on this.
I have this tablet bought in Malaysia in 2020. Its a great travel companian for watching Netflix, youtube, Amazon Prime, etc. It has a MicroSD Card so can hold lots of videos too. The speaker is single but amazingly clear and loud with base. Its the perfect size, and the Spen works great. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ as well but use this more often as its so much more portable.
This pen compartment is already a brilliant idea by Samsung but instead of capitalizing on it, they had to downgrade to a magnetic pen that you stick at the back just because Apple did that. I wish they make a 2024 version of that 10 inch Samsung Note we loved, retaining this pen compartment while updating to the smaller bezels and quad speakers of today. They don't even have to make it Amoled so that it would stay on the budget lineup.
Yeah, Samsung works full time at copying Apple, now. The new One UI has a blatant rip-off of the iPhone control center, now. It's an embarrassment to samsung in my opinion. I don't want an iPhone. I want a Samsung phone with it's own identity again.
i have the galaxy tab a 10.1 2016 w s pen version... Pen still works great... Last update stopped on android 9... still using it to watch this video now... still works though battery life is very weak doesnt last more than 2hrs and afew mins...except whem plugged while using... Bought it 2017... i can bet most of their latest tabs can't last that long... ❤from Nigeria....
We don't have an spen version in the u,s., but I have the same tablet. Has the same problem since birth: freezes a lot., otherwise still decent. But low ram and storage not helpful.
I had the galaxy note 8.0 tablet when that first came out. I loved that thing! I wish samsung would put out another high end 8 inch tablet with s pen. I have a tab s8+ . I love the tablet, but it would be awesome to have a 8 inch version. For now, I guess I will have to stick to my ipad mini.

Still use mine and love it so much picked up a second one off ebay a year of so ago, for when my initial one dies. Battery life still lasts a day whilst out onsite. Storage is the biggest issue for me on it.
Got mine way back in 2019 and it can still keep up till now. Its perfect for student in note taking and other basic app, the spen can be storage inside the tab so I don't have to worry about it gone missing, the tab itself is small so its convenient to take it anywhere
i use this tab till last year, i usually taking notes in collage and drawing (i'm a freelancer) but now i use it to read, great size to hold not like my other 11inch tablet it's too big for me reading novels/comics

I use this tablet for taking notes and watching RUclips every day. Love it. Having a built-in stylus is my favourite feature. I hope that Samsung will launch a similar tablet in the future. I used an iPad mini for a very short period, and I always faced situations where I forgot where to put the pen or charge it.
Commenting on this device. Very rare to find a 8 inch android with full HD screen like this and alsovery bright , color accuracy . Using to watching youtube, netflix, and use social app like facebook still very good and smooth. Just dont tough 3d game it will run very fine. And and idea device to read book, anime, news due to its light weight, i'm easily lie on bed and hold it upper my face to use. In Vietnam , i can buy an use but still in good condition with the price about 60usd or 1.450 million vnd. It just outperform all tablets in this money level
i bought this used tab few months ago, I have no problems until I decided to update it to android 11, it feels slow. i suggest u keep in android 9 and use lite apps. app updates are now to large in file size, just my opinion
My old Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) LTE w/o S Pen still works fine for most tasks. If it only had a bigger RAM, I could still play MLBB on it. But since it only has 2GB/32GB (the only variant available in our county), I opted to not use it anymore starting this year since I have bought the newer Tab A9 and I also have a MatePad SE.

I think you should buy the Tab A9+ instead of the Tab A9 if you want a larger storage. However, it's screen size is 11 inches and it has quite thick bezels.
My screen damaged for about 1 week already. Still functioning well but the screen is like zebra now. One side is darker than the rest 😢😢 although I never drop it down
Just bought one used for $100. I definitely overpaid for it, but it will be very useful as an e-reader and some content consumption on the go. Although, now that i have upgraded from the tab s8+ to the tab s9 (which dictated whether i will buy the sm-p200 tablet, which i have decided to do), i will shift more actjvities to my tab s9 and leave the reading and agenda checklist (shared responsibility with tab s9) to the tab a. I am worried though that the one i just bought will become incompatible with my new buds 3 as the manager app has minimum version android 10
Too bad I didn't know about this tablet until a few months ago. I got a Galaxy Note 9 from Europe over a year ago which cost about 500 US, but if I knew I would have gotten the Tab 8.0 with LTE (205) and still use my Blackberry KEYone as my phone. It's seems impossible to get the 205 in South America now, but I found the Wifi-only version which still costs what it cost for years ago...
Yeah it won't happen now considering that samsung ditched their 11 inch OLED model for the next tab s release. If samsung did that, then I think soon enough samsung will stop making 8 inch tablets at all.
I am using this for media consumption, emulator station (dreamcast and older console), read pdf book, write notes, and some doodling, it's amazing for $100 lol

@@carlos5095Yes you can, you can also go for the tab A9+ with a bigger 90hz display & a bigger battery. But if all you want is a performance upgrade the regular Tab A9 is a good upgrade in terms of performance & battery.
One of the best tablets I hope I can get one even in 2024 but as you say it, Samsung will not make such a tablet. Do you know why? Because Samsung always has planns against the will of its customers. Believe it or not, this is Samsung.

A9 should come with pen..its a perfect size for taking note in a meeting and for student, easy to bring anywhere and lightweight

My favorite was the Tab S2 8.0. Great form, factor. I never understood why Samsung hasn't released an update with Tab S9 specifications.

Believe it or not, we still don't have the a9 for sale in the u.s And I won't buy one unless at least 128 storage, 4gigs ram.

The Galaxy Tab Active 5 is almost same with this but having a rugged design and with mid range specs from a54 with 120hz screen.

I have this and it is laggy and slow. Even charging is really slow too. Speaker is weak. I don't recommend in 2024. Buy something else.

Tab a8 is the slowest tab. Its worse then the Kindle
