The tweet was straightforward and continuing the conversation here is a reasonable way to clarify. I feel as though streaming media social sites can make it so easy for the general public to forget that JUST because they are fans and had their lives deeply touched by GMM or what have you, no member of crew owes anyone anything! They aren't animals in a zoo or a circus side show. Just really great people who, as fellow human beings, deserve the boundary of privacy. Mythical is a family that needs defending. Both incidents in my opinion and your clarification shows that Mythical is truly a corporation not just 2 guys on RUclips. You built a successful company around the channel with all sorts of projects and interests.
I like how Rhett described the new logo, the M in particular as from the prospective of us standing along side them as a community. I like the randler, but I understand new new logo more now. I don't watch the show because of a logo. As far as the merch, if you don't like it don't buy it. Don't get why people would go take it out on their crew on their personal social media and stuff. Kudos to the guys for standing up for their people. I wish more companies did that.
I would love to work for Rhett and Link. They really stand up for the mythical crew. Not every employer does that. I'm glad that they get the support they do because they're awesome. It makes complete sense to take the mascot off the logo for the reasons you explained and it isn't something I ever would have thought of on my own. I love hearing about the business side of things so much! You see a company like Mythical, and think it’s made by perfect people who have some character traits you lack. When showbiz folk delve into choices, thoughts, and issues of business, it makes it seem more real, more achievable. I feel encouraged to follow my dreams when I learn that great things are grown by little steps and struggles.

@@shuukei that’s definitely not the case mate. I personally misunderstood it as them defending the cast we see in the videos, which I respect! However to learn they were defending the crew dealing with customer complaints is great to hear. A simple misunderstanding like this doesn’t mean people think it’s okay to attack others… They really didn’t have to go into detail, cause either way it is great that they are defending their employees
As someone who has a master’s in global communication, I think this was a great way to handle the situation. I don’t think you should regret anything being said in this convo, Rhett. I think this was handled very well. Please know that your main target audience understands this and appreciates it. Note also that there’s no one on Earth “smart enough” to handle communication in a way that pleases everyone. Y’all are doing a great at the damage control of the mistakes made. I’m so pumped Rhett addressed some of the critiques I made on the new logo on the Mythical store page, I got a top fan badge, and Rhett mentioned my thoughts on flipping the logo for a hit differential too. At least now I know you guys considered the other options 🤣
This is the 4th podcast I’ve watched and I’m kinda sad and glad I just got into it. I love gmm so having all this extra content that digs deep into each of their personas is gold. Sad it took me this long to get into it but glad because now I have all these episodes to binge watch/hear. Love y’all 🙏
I have never had a problem getting merch I purchased or the 3rd tier society stuff. In fact, they helped me get a replacement for something that got lost. I'm happy with and thankful for all the work the crew does.
always amazed by the connections i can draw from my life to the experiences described by rhett and link on ear biscuits. i used to go on mission trips throughout middle and high school also, and this episode reminded me that i once went on a mission trip to their hometown and was even housed in the high school they went to! … oh and i’ve also undergone quite the spiritual deconstruction in the time since lol
I think it’s good to speak up for everyone. You have to assess all options before making an action but no matter which path you choose their will be people who misunderstand. I personally don’t see how people misinterpreted the tweet it seemed very clear I think they wanted to get upset and chose to twist the words because that is how Twitter works.

Listen, I don’t know who was so sensitive before but what I heard from that tweet when I saw it was that you did not want people personally addressing specific crewmembers and criticizing them personally, and if we did have concerns or comments that we wanted to share we should share it with the entirety of the medical crew and not try to directly attack individuals. I.e. not attacking Stevie, Chase, Josh, Trevor or anyone in particular. Sounds pretty clear to me, way to go! I appreciate you sticking up for your mythical crew😁 Or reaching out personally to the people in charge of customer service. I think that’s absolutely appropriate as a business owner myself any complaints about my staff have to come through me and through the business and not directly to them.

As a graphic designer I am eating up this episode 😂 I love the new logo, for such a broad entertainment company and in order to not limit future projects, a “simpler” logo is necessary. Love the symbolism of height differences, I think the perspective really encompasses the ethos of gmm/mythical. It also gives me retro/70s vibes that always seems to shine through on the sets. Love it 🧡

But that's my opinion & it's your actual business & livelihood, so it's not up to me to tell you how to run it. Everyone should have life long friends like Link and Rhett. Life gives highs and lows and through it all these two are still great friends.
I know you guys have talked about this before so I know that you're aware of it, but you have a community that loves you unconditionally, you don't need to apologize everytime a group of people in the comments get mad about something, the mythical beasts aren't going anywhere
Mythical is a family that needs defending. Both incidents in my opinion and your clarification shows that Mythical is truly a corporation not just 2 guys on RUclips. You built a successful company around the channel with all sorts of projects and interests.

I like how Rhett described the new logo, the M in particular as from the prospective of us standing along side them as a community. I like the randler, but I understand new new logo more now. I don't watch the show because of a logo. As far as the merch, if you don't like it don't buy it. Don't get why people would go take it out on their crew on their personal social media and stuff. Kudos to the guys for standing up for their people. I wish more companies did that.
I would love to work for Rhett and Link. They really stand up for the mythical crew. Not every employer does that. I'm glad that they get the support they do because they're awesome. When they get old if the need someone to give them medication or changing their diapers they can call me lol (I'm a med tech and I work in a nursing home).
I wasn't someone who misinterpreted any of your communication attempts but I just wanted to say here that I appreciate the explanation here of the logo stuff. It makes complete sense to take the mascot off the logo for the reasons you explained and it isn't something I ever would have thought of on my own. Love you guys - try not to overthink all of this just bc of the loudest people in the community.
I love hearing about the business side of things so much! You see a company like Mythical, and think it’s made by perfect people who have some character traits you lack. When showbiz folk delve into choices, thoughts, and issues of business, it makes it seem more real, more achievable. I feel encouraged to follow my dreams when I learn that great things are grown by little steps and struggles.

I, 100% understood it for what you meant and I felt it was unfortunate that you had to even say it in the first place. I think it's safe to say that the type of person that reaches out to a team member during their personal time for work related tasks, wouldn't appreciate if someone did the same to them. No one wants to do their job during personal time. I guess I can't understand how that could have come across in any way other... I wish people would be more considerate all the way around and that's all this is asking.

It makes sense to me now. It also made sense to me when I first read it, but I thought it was because people where criticising the mythical crew (like Trevor) in the videos 😂. Fair play to them for sticking up for the employees in the background that don’t get any praise!

@@shuukei that’s definitely not the case mate. I personally misunderstood it as them defending the cast we see in the videos, which I respect! However to learn they were defending the crew dealing with customer complaints is great to hear. A simple misunderstanding like this doesn’t mean people think it’s okay to attack others…

As someone who has a master’s in global communication, I think this was a great way to handle the situation. I don’t think you should regret anything being said in this convo, Rhett. I think this was handled very well. Please know that your main target audience understands this and appreciates it. Note also that there’s no one on Earth “smart enough” to handle communication in a way that pleases everyone. Y’all are doing a great at the damage control of the mistakes made. Like any other company there are official channels provided for complaints or other issues. People need to use them and not target people within the company personally. Shame on those people. Grow up!

I have never had a problem getting merch I purchased or the 3rd tier society stuff. In fact, they helped me get a replacement for something that got lost. I'm happy with and thankful for all the work the crew does.
always amazed by the connections i can draw from my life to the experiences described by rhett and link on ear biscuits. i used to go on mission trips throughout middle and high school also, and this episode reminded me that i once went on a mission trip to their hometown and was even housed in the high school they went to! … oh and i’ve also undergone quite the spiritual deconstruction in the time since lol
I think it’s good to speak up for everyone. You have to assess all options before making an action but no matter which path you choose their will be people who misunderstand.
I personally don’t see how people misinterpreted the tweet it seemed very clear I think they wanted to get upset and chose to twist the words because that is how Twitter works.

But I think the Mythical logo is really really good for the OUTSIDE perspective, because the other one was mostly for the inside perspective. I'll look for the randler in the future for sure! The problem is it wasn't clear what they were being harassed over. People thought it was about people not liking Trevor's podcast, when in actuality it was about merch.

Listen, I don’t know who was so sensitive before but what I heard from that tweet when I saw it was that you did not want people personally addressing specific crewmembers and criticizing them personally, and if we did have concerns or comments that we wanted to share we should share it with the entirety of the medical crew and not try to directly attack individuals. I.e. not attacking Stevie, Chase, Josh, Trevor or anyone in particular. Sounds pretty clear to me, way to go! I appreciate you sticking up for your mythical crew😁 Or reaching out personally to the people in charge of customer service. I think that’s absolutely appropriate as a business owner myself any complaints about my staff have to come through me and through the business and not directly to them.

As a graphic designer I am eating up this episode 😂 I love the new logo, for such a broad entertainment company and in order to not limit future projects, a “simpler” logo is necessary. Love the symbolism of height differences, I think the perspective really encompasses the ethos of gmm/mythical. It also gives me retro/70s vibes that always seems to shine through on the sets. Love it 🧡

I like the new logo, things change and I'm up for the new. I think having the "M" as a simple logomark for your company is a cool idea.
I mean, I gave it time, because we as humans don't like change or new things, but yeah, I really loathe the new logo after a lot of consideration. But that's my opinion & it's your actual business & livelihood, so it's not up to me to tell you how to run it. I can still voice my preferences & spend my disposable income accordingly.That being said, the new logo is so generic, boring, derivative, & generally un-mythical, & I'm so glad I got the merch I got when I did, because Lord knows it ain't cheap.

The tweet was not clear. It was not clear it had to do with merch issues. A lot of people thought it had to with Trevor's new podcast or Mythical Kitchen.
1St of all, harassing a person over merch is dumb. Period.
Now coming to the logo.
I feel like the fans who don't like the new logo feel like you're straying too far from the intimate nature of your beginnings. Ig that's bound to happen as you grow and change. Some will stay, some will leave and new fans will take their place. It's all about balancing it out.
