Just now saw this product, it is pretty cool. Not sure if it has been done but you should ad a clear flame looking cone over the lights which would simulate actual fire. Were would I get one?
Hi Chris. I just got my E-flite F4 Phantom II toned. Would like to get a burner light for it. I see you have both center-burner and multi-burner for 36mm inrunner motor. Which one should I go with for the E-flite F4 Phantom II?
At the moment I don’t have a multi burner for the 80mm eflite fan. That being said, I’m currently testing one in my f18 to see if there’s a performance difference at all.
@@Thercgeek awesome! I was worried about a multi-burner might cause some performance issues due to its larger footprint. Good luck with your new test. I will stick with what the plane is for now. Gonna make a decision after your test result comes out. Thanks for the update :)
Awesome video Chris! I just ordered one from your website. Great product from what the people at HobbySquawk say. Can't wait to put it on my 90mm F-22 Raptor!
My friend did an install video with the su30. It uses the same motor, so will give you an idea (ruclips.net/video/kK0-BrOfUHw/видео.html). I need to do a fresh install vid as I have a number of more designs now since I made this vid.
I’ve actually recently come out with a V2 version that’s is much improved to this one. With the V2 You can use a separate 2s lipo or you can use the flight battery balance plug to provide power to the LEDs. That being said, no more than 2s voltage can be supplied to the LEDs or you will burn them out.
Hey Chris.. I have a 70mm Sure 30 twin edf and I need the new center burner kit. Can you tell me which kit or size I need for it? Sorry but I'm confused at the sizes. And I see some are backorder. Don't want to miss out on this. Please help?
I would like to see a install on a freewing F-16 artic camo jet because the fan cone looks totally different I order one for my F-16 artic camo it came now I am waiting for the Y connector to run from throttle port on the receiver.
The freewing 70mm f16 has an outrunner motor (the outside motor case spins with the fan). I currently don’t have an outrunner solution that will work at the 70mm fan size. I’m working on an outrunner design concept at the 64mm size I’m working on which if it works I should be able to make work at the 70mm size.
That model uses a 30mm inrunner motor which I do have a solution for. 😊. I just released my new miniburners last month which includes a 30mm inrunner option. Thercgeek.com/centerburner
I only have the single for the 64mm as making a multiburner at that size would create too much blockage in the exhaust. That said, the single light installation still looks good in the f15.
Just ordered one but wondering if they can be ran off of a 6.6V LIFE battery... Would like to just run a 700mah LIFE battery for my RX and Burner if possible.
Thank for your order! Yes, you can use a 2cell life pack, no problems at all. The 2cell lipo gives max brightness having a little more voltage, but the life pack should do ok.
Yeah, that’s no problem. This controller was originally designed for that application. Do you know what the recommended voltage inputs are for the light ring you have? Shoot me an email through my contact form and we can work our getting a controller to you. thercgeek.com/contact/
Pretty neat Chris,a lot better looking than the outer ring type ab's.When do we get to see the A-4 with the new paint job? Can't wait, know it will be over the top!
I do offer a 70mm design for the 28mm motor that’s on the eflite fan. It can be powered from the flight pack using an 8v buck regulator, but it’s not something I supply. I find it simpler to power from a small 2s 250mah lipo. They weigh pretty much nothing and can go anywhere and then you’re not drawing from your flight pack.
@@Thercgeek Yup. Just tried it and it let me to the Centerburner page. Please let me know when they're available again. I'd like a 70mm unit for the E-flite Viperjet. :)
I will get a few when you build the ones I need. Would really like 2 sets for my A10 90mm upgrade with JP 90mm Counter rotating fans. I assume the 80mm one you have now is for the older out-runner fan units and not the new 80mm out-runner fan used in the A10? All my 80mms are in-runners Im upgrading my F14s.
The design I have right now is for the freewing outrunner 80mm. I should have an 80mm inrunner available in this next batch. 90mms will be available sometime next month.
With a proper bec it can be. But otherwise, pulling power from the balance plugs shorts the controller typically, especially when using a yharness off the throttle. I use a 250mah 2s lipo which lasts me many flight outings on a charge and weighs virtually nothing.
If you’re able to order today, I can actually get it in the mail tomorrow. Otherwise, it will be about 1 week as I will be unavailable to process orders this coming weekend (starting Thursday).
The difficulty is cost since the system would cost nearly the same as a 64mm sized jet. What size motor is used on the 64mm fan you're thinking of and is it an inrunner? I could do something custom potentially.

As I move the stick up it goes out about 50% throttle and up. I hit the program button at about 80% throttle but it only illuminates at around 50% and below. I have the throttle Y harnessed and don't have the throttle reversed or anything like that in my radio. Any ideas???
Got your facebook message and replied back. According to the controller manufacturer, this is done by re-calibrating the controller and pressing the button once. If we're unable to get it squared away, I'll send you a replacement. Thanks!
2s lipo is the way to go, but no more than that. So, when using a BEC, I recommend setting it to about 7.2 or so volts. At 6 volts, the lights work, but aren't super bright.

What amperage should the BEC be rated for if just using for the burner , and I imagine the voltage range is 5 to 9 volts ? , thank you !
The Castle Creations UBEC (or equivilant) works well. Voltage input to the controller can take up to 24v, but not to exceed that.
I have a correction, voltage to the controller should not exceed 6v.
