I have sewn garments since the 60's and quilted since the 90's yet I've never been a 'expert sewer'. I have to push myself. I love that you don't fuss with things and get a fantastic result. I am older, more conservative, and don't go many places any more, however I just might try something like this dress and coat. I'm sure my children would be surprised! I want to day a BIG "THANK YOU" for sharing your pinning technique using cardboard. I'm 65 & have been sewing close to 55 of those years & I feel so dumb for never thinking of this!🙄😂🤣 While it's true that until just recently I never had a good workspace to lay out my bigger project, I still could have used my dining table or bed or.... something! ...You have gotten me so excited to use my imagination again! I do hate that Goodwill has raised prices of adult clothes pretty drastically in my area and elimintaed the Senior 30% off discount on Wednesdays, so I thrift much more selectively now.

As usual, this is an amazing, clear, informative video! AND you look AMAZING! I absolutely LOVE the fact that you really encourage people at the end of your video to just go for it! I’m also completely obsessed with the idea of upcycling thrift store clothing because the ladies that I teach, each receive a $50 gift card to our local Goodwill when they first get to the shelter donated by one of our local organizations. So, now, I can go shop with them and give them ideas for how they can make beautiful clothing for themselves AND their kiddos that look very designer! Girl, you’ve just really opened up an ENTIRE NEW crafting lane for me and the possibilities are literally ENDLESS!!!! You literally have no idea how inspiring you are! I’m just one person trying to make a little difference in my own sphere of influence and sometimes it feels a little bit overwhelming and hopeless lol, but then I sit down at my sewing machine or grab some paint and a random thrift store item and make something beautiful and THAT is what I want to teach the women that I’m blessed to meet! So keep these videos coming girl, you’ve got my creative brain kicked into overdrive and I can’t wait till next Thursday’s class! This afternoon I popped into a (kind of) high end store found a skirt that was all different types of patches sewn together, layered, and it was light weight 100% cotton. But it was so cute but too pricey to purchase. After watching this video, I realized how easy it would be to make.

This is brilliant, especially the finished result with all the accessories - you look absolutely awesome wearing it all! The original dress wasn't too bad (although I probably wouldn't wear it) but the other dresses were truly awful, but what you transformed them all into is something so much greater than the sum of the parts! Very well done indeed, and definitely something I would wear, even if brown isn't my colour - at least not to wear, although I find it hard to depart from brown in my mixed media work as I love all things grungey and vintage. I am loving your channel! I have just completed the first in a series of what I am calling "Bonnie Baggies" after watching your necklace pouches video. It's totally OTT and covered with bling and frippery and I love it! Just the right size for my phone with a cross-body strap made from braid that's been in my stash for years and I've never liked, but now I love it.

Traci, I've been collecting/selling vintage linens, laces, doilies for years. I have always wanted to do creative things with them, particularly with the 'cutters'. Yes, like some of your other subbies, I am intimidated and have put off starting. Since I have been watching all your videos, I am getting courage. I like so much that you tell us 'technical' details....like what to expect when you attach 'something to something'. For example, how it will flow, hang etc...using a specific technique you describe. Your video on the long scarf is an example of something I think I can try because you make it look so simple. Also, I feel comfortable working with all the white linens, laces etc...Eventually I will get the courage to move into the realm of Boho, putting different fabrics, patterns, colors...crazy but really fun stuff together. That will really be a challenge for me but I hope to get there....thanks to you.

This is brilliant, especially the finished result with all the accessories - you look absolutely awesome wearing it all! The original dress wasn't too bad (although I probably wouldn't wear it) but the other dresses were truly awful, but what you transformed them all into is something so much greater than the sum of the parts! Very well done indeed, and definitely something I would wear, even if brown isn't my colour - at least not to wear, although I find it hard to depart from brown in my mixed media work as I love all things grungey and vintage.
I am loving your channel! I have just completed the first in a series of what I am calling "Bonnie Baggies" after watching your necklace pouches video. It's totally OTT and covered with bling and frippery and I love it! Just the right size for my phone with a cross-body strap made from braid that's been in my stash for years and I've never liked, but now I love it.

Traci, I've been collecting/selling vintage linens, laces, doilies for years. I have always wanted to do creative things with them, particularly with the 'cutters'. Yes, like some of your other subbies, I am intimidated and have put off starting. Since I have been watching all your videos, I am getting courage. I like so much that you tell us 'technical' details....like what to expect when you attach 'something to something'. For example, how it will flow, hang etc...using a specific technique you describe. Your video on the long scarf is an example of something I think I can try because you make it look so simple. Also, I feel comfortable working with all the white linens, laces etc...Eventually I will get the courage to move into the realm of Boho, putting different fabrics, patterns, colors...crazy but really fun stuff together. That will really be a challenge for me but I hope to get there....thanks to you.
