James Coburn was among an unbelievable group of outstanding actors at that time, too many to name. But he was definitely exceptional and always turned in a great performance no matter what the role!
James Coburn lit up the screen as soon as he stepped in front of the camera. His voice was recognizable after two words. In the Magnificent Seven, every scene he was in, he stole! Loved him! RIP
The President's Analyst was a really great movie, having no mercy on anyone. Coburn was superb in his role, showing unexpected comedic talent. He was a wonderful actor.
Thank You Jerry. James Coburn has always been one of my favorite movie star and I believe one of the most under appreciated. He was a great actor and a gentleman. i always hoped Mr. Coburn and Lee Marvin would have done a movie together,
Lee Marvin was another actor that was an absolute classic! When it comes to these two, James Coburn and Lee Marvin, they were actors that were at the top of their craft! Rest In Peace, Gentlemen!!!
Charles Bronson, Steve McQueen, and James Coburn are the three greatest tough but nice guys that were very real in life as well as in films that they portrayed, and they inspired modern pop culture...!!!
I just noticed, for the first time a few days ago, that James Coburn is on the cover of the Band On The Run album, along with Christopher Lee. This guy was an amazing talent and such fun to watch on the screen.
I first saw Coburn as Flint when I was a second grader and have enjoyed his movies since then. Jerry, you are an artist just like the people you present! Take care and be well!
Jerry, I humbly thank you for creating this sensitively produced piece on Jim. I would also just like to draw fellow subscribers attention to his 1973 performance as Clinton Green in “The Last of Sheila”, my favourite Coburn film. “The Internecine Project” is another film I would highly recommend. Great work on your part Jerry in keeping Jim’s memory alive. B
Thank-you Jerry for the present to all of us on Mother's Day. My favorite movie of his was "Harry in your Pocket" playing a professional pickpocket with the great Walter Pigeon. Pure Class.
James Coburn’s rich legacy went beyond film and television. He was used as the model for a six-issue British science fiction comic series called The Stainless Steel Rat, thereby making James Coburn a pop culture icon.
I cant remember how old i was but probably around 9 or 10yrs old & my mum & dad took me to the cinema to see some cowboy film as i was obsessed with cowboys & indians & played it with my friends all the time Well, as soon as i clapped eyes on James Coburn ... something happened that changed me forever...i fell in love with him James was plastered all over my bedroom wall, begging my parents to send off to various American publishers to send me weekly or fortnightly film magazines so i could put up James's posters all over my walls & even ceilling!
