- In this video we'll take a look at the operational flight plan, what it all means and what you need to complete the FMC setup in the 737. This is not a full 737 FMC setup tutorial, I have done seperate videos on that topic which you can find here: • PMDG 737-700 for MSFS ...

You definitely deserve more recognition for your content sir!
I appreciate that!
You've helped me much more than this is worth but I hope it finds you well regardless.
Thank you so much for supporting the channel! I am really glad you are enjoying the videos!
Another fantastic video. I really appreciate that you take the time to explain the 'why' along with the 'how'. A great deal of my enjoyment in flight simming is gaining knowledge and understanding of how aviation works, and it's things like this that really make the difference.
You are my mentor when it comes to this. Thank you sir!
Great session and love the comments about the iPAD ! 😅 …
Excellent Tutorial. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and taking the time to teach us to be better virtual pilots.
Again, great and informative video. Thank you again.
This video is a gem. Again.
I'm really glad I discovered this channel via a post in Steam FS forums. So much valuable information and guidance.
Welcome aboard!
Thank you Emanuel ! It's very nice to lurn few things can be really useful... ! Great like always :)
Thank you soooo much for this breakdown.
Thank you, i learned alot from your channel.
Great video, thank you!
Excellent tutorail
Well done🙏
Thanks! Now i finally know what all these things on the flightplan mean 👍
If you weren't aware, Simbrief does have an interactive flight plan example when you hover your mouse a description bubble pops up detailing what each item is.
Thanks for showing us 💝😋
-loved it-
Didn't realize the Simbrief LIDO was actually an "average" of several airlines formats. Another 737 pilot from the UK prefers the LIDO format because he says it is very close to matching what his company uses. The RYR format is pretty good but I can just scroll for the TOC winds. I like the other additional info in the LIDO that the RYR format doesn't provide.
Thanks you so much for this explain .
*Explanation.
Hi Emmanuel, danke für alle Ihre Videos. Sehr gute Tutorials.
Thanks a lot sir for your magnificent videos! They really add real realism to our simulator flying. Thanks once again sir.
I have a couple of questions regarding this topic sir,
Does the company also enter extra fuel in the flight plan if the weather at the destination airport is usually not good?
How to determine If I will get low on fuel or not if I use 119kg of extra fuel as a result of changing my cost index to 100 as shown in the OFP operational impacts section.
Thank you very much!
The company will only add extra fuel for structural problems like ATC delays, etc.
For things like weather it's up to the PIC to decide how much extra he wants to carry, however many companies will have guidelines in place.
@@A330Driver Thanks !
Moin ! First of all many thanks for all your videos. Beeing a simmer since 2000 I appreciate your phantastic tutorials. I learned a lot and still learning. I was wondering about the RYR format of OFP, where to find the numbers of passengers and cargo. Having in mind, these numbers are import for the FS actions I can use in PMDG FMC, they are listed separately in LIDO format, the format I used until now, but can`t find them in RYR OFP, however I like the RYR format, but I like to use the immersion of boarding and using loaders for cargo as well :), instead of only use Payload function in FMC. Any recommendation from your side? Vielleicht überlese ich die entsprechenden Zahlen auch nur einfach .... Gruß Andreas
They're not included on the RYR format. They simply use the ZFW.
Great video again Emanuel :)
I have one question: The stepclimb down to FL240, was that entered manually in Simbrief? or did Simbrief calculate it for you?
No need to answer Emanuel. I was asking because Simbrief never gave me any stepclimbs, no matter how long my route was. But I just found out that this is an option in Simbrief that one needs to check; "Plan Stepclimbs".🙂
must i put the plan on mfs2020 world map for atc to work witht the fmc plan?
Great video, do you also check the notams? simbrief generates so many and it seems unrealistic. From what I know the real OFP's inculde airports notams and enroute notams that are filtered only for the one that are important because there can be alot
If you generate the full paper flightplan like simmers always do in simbrief, then you'd get this many notams.
However there's a shortened version available usually that does not include enroute notams and filters the rest of the notams for those which are currently active only.
@@A330Driver At your operator the ofp's only include the fileted airport notams?
@@itayfishman With the lenghy versions available on request by the pilot.
So many times when I fly and I plan for the arrival the transitions and stuff confuses me a lot. Choosing a runway and star is easy but what to do when you see a bunch of transitions?
Check the IAF you are expecting to use for the kind of approach.
Well, my head just exploded.
No worries, use it a bit and try to learn it bit by bit and you'll get there quickly!
Thank you, Emanuel! I plan to revisit this video as it is a lot to digest. Your "patterns" video was a game changer for me. It helped me get over the hurdle of beginning to learn how to hand fly the 737. Thank you!
