I'm really sorry to hear that, but let's see it positive: You'll probably know your procedures and FCOM by heart by the time you have recovered! Get well soon!
Thanks you so much for these tutorials! I am training to be a pilot and hoping one day I get to actually fly a real 737-700 NG. Anyways, thanks for all your help and for being so thorough. Howdy from Texas!
Can you make a video on maybe tips and tricks for the fix page? I wanted to learn how to use it on my advance and be more helpful on my flights, thanks for all you do!!
Thanks for the great video (again)! Could you perhaps do a video on a steep approach (>3 degrees)? I would assume you need the speed brake to slow down then, but it will be important to have the speed under control before capturing the glide slope?
Considered! You're right, it's most important to have the speed under control before glideslope capture. If you catch the glide at more than F10 placard speed you can forget about the approach and start a new one. Even 3.2° in Malaga (often paired with strong tailwinds until short final) can be challenging.
Hi again. just to follow up on my latest comment on the distance not showing up on the nav display, where you said it was a bug in P3D. So in this video (11:10) you have the distance to the DME, on both the VOR 1 and 2, so I dont understand. Is it because this ILS has an DME as well?
How do you setup the radios for an ILS approach where a DME transmitting on a separate frequency is required? E.g. runway 05, or 23 in Hamburg, where ALF DME is required. Thanks!
Jet engines don’t technically need anything to ignite the fuel in the combustion chambers once they get running…however, having the electric igniters firing constantly helps guard against an accidental “flameout” during a critical phase of flight. I believe they are also turned on when engine anti-ice is used, for the same reason…keep the fire burning 😅
Another great video. I have been flying the flybywire airbus for a little bit, but am still a newbie to the PMDG 737-800 which I just purchased a week ago. Would you mind commenting a little more about how to do a “direct to” a certain waypoint while en route? Thank you!
Great video thank you! Would you kindly share your PMDG aircraft setup settings? I notice you have some instruments showing that are missing from my 737-700 (PMDG). Example: The round altimeter in upper right corner of your PFD, and the terrain proximity graph in your lower FO DU. How can I obtain those two features in my aircraft, please and thank you.
How do you do a quuck airport turnaround to depart again? I shutoff engine added ground power but engines wiukdnt restart later possibly low psi maybe not sure but whats proper steps
How would the aircraft operate if I had only one ILS frequency being regulated. I find that it can still capture ILS signals, so can it still be able to land automatically?
Again, super good tutorial. I’m watching them all and taking notes before hopping into the 737 (only flew airbus in the sim before). But ehmmm, you’re performing Approach procedures during the Landing checklist. Is that normal? When do you set verf+5 and extend flaps 30? Before the checklist I presume? Also, in the landing checklist you go over speed brake….armed but in previous tutorials I never saw you arm it? Should that be done when you set up the auto brake or do you wait with that until the checklist because you might have used it to decelerate or lose extra altitude?
You start the landing checklist when commanding gear down flap 15, run the checklist down to flaps while they are extending and then once the flaps are out to the landing setting you complete the checklist. That's how we do it in my company.
Another master class, just a quick question Emi, a bit off topic, on the CDU Simulations page 2/10 (if it's still the same as on the NGXu), A/T Manual Override. What would be the most realistic option to set there?. Thank you for sharing your knowledge ones again.
Thanks! The option still exists as it was in P3D. However answering your question is really hard. The obvious answer would be to set it to always override. However: I guess your hardware throttle will NOT move together with your simulated thrust levers at all times. That makes it problematic. Personally I'm using the "override in ARM mode only" option so that my joystick doesn't interfere with the A/T unless the AT doens't want to do anything anyway. Is that most realistic? No. Is that most comfortable? Definitely yes.
probably a silly question but if your aircraft doesn’t have the vertical situation display, is there a way to get it, or is it just specific aircraft? your tutorials are incredible. cheers!
thank you captain , i am wondering how to calculate the transition alt at the approach , keeping in mind the altimeter and the trans alt given by charts , so you calculate the flight level transition alt ..
The transition layer (area between TA and TL) needs to cover at least 1000ft. You need to take into account both temprature and QNH in order to determine where the TL must be. To make it simple for flight simming purposes: If the QNH is less than 1013 use 2000ft between TA and TL. So with a TA of 5000ft you could make the TL FL70. If the QNH is above 1013 use 1000ft, so with a TA of 5000ft use FL60 as TL.
Hi, thanks for the great videos. They really help me flying this wonderful aircraft. Do you have a complete checklist from CAD until shut down and secure? Where can I find one?
Nothing, as long as you don't overspeed: Don't bother. What you *can* however do: Enter a direct to the current way point, that'll update the wind calculations with the present winds.
I don't know, I'm not PMDG staff. I'm only a pilot who helps in the tech team, but no PMDG employee or otherwise someone who has direct insights into the release structure.
I'm using the 3080Ti with a slightly older CPU and my fps are just above 30 as well. The trick is to sync your monitors fps to your in-game fps and for recording to record at the same fps the game is producing. That makes things seem a bit smoother.

In simulator or fsx, of course, I can't connect to the servers without purchase🙏
My aircraft have very different configuration and it is impossible to do on this video, B737-700 aren not the same of this one....
