- recently call of duty modern warfare 3 or mw3 has been experiencing a number of issues and one of the biggest ones is lag stuttering and lagging through warzone multiplayer and even zombies. this issue affects pc ps4 ps5 and especially xbox and it needs to be addressed because its not a priority for activision.

My speculation is they are doing it to encourage people to buy the next cod, and they’re going to use this as an excuse to why we should buy the next cod. This company is clearly greedy. And just wants to feed us another game with a bunch of new fancy content that no one is really even interested in or some of the same content that we’ve had year after year. It’s time to stop buying into the lies and greed of this company. It’s time to start a revolution. It’s time to f@&$ing protest.

Im on xbox and did a full reinstall of the game , thinking that maybe the update didnt get installed properly. The lag and stuttering got even worse.......

Mine got better after a week. The last few days, it got so bad that I have to restart the game after every game. This only happened after the update.

Sure, i ve uninstalled it x3 time, change usb port, erased the MAC adress, etc.......nothing change , IT S IN THE GAME .

not only can activision not fix their servers, their anti cheat fails allowing lag switchers
played with xb1 and was full laggy after mid game, i buyed the new xbox x and magically dont have a single frame of lag. Maybe they want to make a change for the old gen but at least say it something. So bad activision so bad!
Because Microsoft owns Activision now. Pretty shady for Microsoft to do that. F them, it will be Playstation and PC for me for now on

This issue is here for way too long already.. Only yesterday Activision said on X that this lag issue has “come to their attention”.. O really did it already.. Truly the game is sooo shit it’s unreal. The sound, the utterly broken Aim Assist, the EOMM, the servers in general , THE CHEATING.. The list can go on and on and on. But hey 13 year old Billy keeps buying the overpriced skins because in this game he barely has to aim to kill an enemy so little Billy boy is having the time of his life.
I’m having trouble playing my game. The lag is so bad it starts within the first five minutes of the game and it just gets worse and worse. I just wanna play.

Tip for PC amd users you can actually fix the lag and stutters by turning on anti lag and turning off smart access memory in the amd menu

I love trying to get challenges done with this lag, making a simple challenge that should be done in at least 5 minutes or less, drag on for an hour because I constantly stutter and lag no matter what happens.

For those on Xbox it maybe both MW and Xbox as I play on Xbox one and every game I play weather it be war thunder or Descendant it be lagging too much.

I have been lagging 3 weeks and all that Activision and Xbox to Microsoft has told me is they are aware of the problem and they are trying their best to fix it. But then I get an email yesterday after I left them. A dirty email about how garbage their company is saying it is their top priority. Now to fix this problem, I've sent them. Video of my lag issues. And they were astonished because they said that nobody else was experiencing this problem. Then they finally checked and realized over 60 million. We're experiencing this problem and sent me an email saying they are in there. Best mode to fix it
6 days later… nothing has been done!
If this was affecting PC as bad as xbox it would have been fixed within 24hrs of the major steamers complaining to their millions of subs about it

If you are on new gen consoles or pc, if you turn off the challenges button in the account and network settings, it *should* fix the issue of the lag spikes. It’s not a perfect fix and doesn’t work for old gen consoles.
the weirdest part is my PING stays around 20-25 which is normal for me... which almost tells me its a framerate issue

mw2 the same for me, i''not the greatest gamer in the world but enjoy playing on x box one, i give up after a few games as it becomes impossible to play/enjoy, tried looking for ways to improve but nothing works to make it better.

Yeah... Been dealing with it since the update... I login and play a match or two then the third one will start lagging or stuttering... I have two quit the game and start it over just to play... It's pretty sad...lol
Dude the lag on xbox is so damn ridiculous I just can't believe I've been lagging for about 3 weeks now!!! And the dumbest part is not that long ago they just decided to acknowledge this and basically said they wre investigating it? When will they even start finish? The week before season 5 just so they can break the game again after the season 5 update? I really wish i could get my money back only got mw3 just to play with friends because since mw2 theyve been having issues after updates and pretty much promised they learned from their mistakes so crap like that wouldn't happen in mw3 guess they just cared about making money

I’ve literally changed the following to stop the lag -
- every other setting
- internet cables, 5G, 2g
- changed accounts
- changed my tv settings
- did everything other RUclipsr said
- even tried a different Xbox a newer version
- tried every low quality mode on settings
Literally felt like smashing the Xbox the pad and tv everything up that’s how bad the lags been since the last update. I don’t think I’ll be playing this game ever again

It was already addressed, I haven't been experiencing lag/stuttering but I'm getting slightly higher ping now.

I’ve spent money buying new routers, changing ISP etc but none made a difference. I have a ping around 15 ms and have no rubber banding but my game feels out of sync which I expect is “lag compensation”. Depending on the lobby, this makes the game unplayable and not fun.
Happens on zombies. when brought up to them they say it's my internet then they say it's the ps5 then they say it's playstation when bought digitally ive cleared catch rebuilt data base still issuses I've had issues with the game freezing up to this mw3 is the first time buying any cod I don't think I be buying any other cod game again new or old

I'm a casual player, but buy all the cod games, so when i get an hour here and there and it's unplayable, it just ends up pissing me off.
It's been bad for 2 weeks for me. Usually one match I don't lag then after I lag so bad like it's so bad I can't kill anyone and I freeze. I use to enjoy this game but now it's trash
As soon as the game starts it's the first thing i notice. For it's been going on a good 5 maybe 6 weeks. I thought with the new season 5 the issue would be fixed. Nope. It's actually worse. I checked my internet connection, and even reset my console hoping for an update fix. Reinstalled the game and no changes, still lagging. I'm not having any lagging issues with WM2 or even the 2019 version. Just this one (MW3). I don't want to sound pessimistic but it's becoming clear it's just not that important to Activision. The game basically just sits there in my console. It's unplayable. I'll give it another 2 weeks before i request a refund.

No reason to be charged $70 for a game that was just ripped pieces from past games put together, and at the least they could have their game playable.

You’re probably chat banned, they’ve been Comms banning everyone for no reason at all. I don’t even use my voice chat and was banned because of their new AI policed comms enforcement.
MW2 has a lag/packet burst issue as well. (Xbox One)

Crashes starts after 5min of a game, generally you can play one multi game and then , the next game is ...horrible( audio crashes...)

Xbox player here. I maybe get one game with minimum lag and then after that I just go play watchdogs 2 because it’s just useless to play. Glad to have confirmation that it’s not just me (unfortunately though).

I can't even play zombies because the game lags horribly and I got a failed exfil because I got hit by 4 zombies and couldn't shoot them because of the lag. I'm so over modern warfare 3, I'm ready for black ops 6.

Ike you said doing everything activision recommended to do and didn’t fix the issue they refer you to Microsoft then you do everything they ask you to do and they refer you to activision and to your ISP. But I can play every other game on Xbox with no issues …. Problem isn’t on my end … thousand of people on Microsoft community are still waiting for this to be taken care of !! Especially how much this franchise has earned over the years with game pricing and dlc’s and battle passes etc…
