ZZ Top is one of those bands that just oozes fun & party music! Tush, La Grange, Just Got Paid, Francine, Waitin' for the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago, Heard it on the X (my favorite - 2 minutes+ of killer guitar riff in a song about Mexican "border blaster" radio stations that sent their signals way into the U.S. throughout Texas & several surrounding states), Balinese, Arrested for Driving While Blind, She Loves My Automobile, A Fool for Your Stockings, I Thank You (a cover of an r&b hit by Sam & Dave from the 60s), Party on the Patio, so many more...!

I remember my mom, always with her "turn that crap off" when I listened to non-religious music, or rock music, but I knew I had a secret weapon against that when it was ZZ Top. I said "You know mom, this is ZZ Top, and they're from Texas", and then next she would just stop saying that and groove to the sounds. It always worked when it was a band or an artist from Texas, because my mom was from San Antonio, Texas. I miss my mom.

"But what really knocked me out was her cheap sunglasses"! LOL! Love this song! Texas Blues Rock rules! Another Texas band you should check out is Los Lonely Boys. I love Cottonfields and Crossroads, Sueno Mal (Crazy Dream) which they do in three versions; entirely in Spanish, entirely in English, and mixed (Live at the Fillmore). With Onda you might think you're listening to Carlos Santana. For many of their songs I would stick to the studio versions as the concert versions can get quite long. Onda runs 25 minutes. Los Lonely Boys are the Brothers Garza, Jojo, Henry, and Ringo. They had a big hit with Heaven which they wrote about their grandmother passing away.

ZZ Top were the band that got me into rock back in the 80s, and one of the best if not the best gig I've ever been to was when they played a fairly small city hall over here in the UK - they normally play big stadiums but this was a pretty small venue. Billy Gibbons even took a walk round the local shopping mall and appeared in the local paper posing for a picture with a somewhat surprised local fan! 😀 My vote goes to My Head's In Mississippi - classic Top 😎👍

The underrated thing about ZZ Top is that they’re funky.

The term for the short notes w a lot of attack and no sustain that Jay was digging is 'staccato' - the great Billy Gibbons gives a clinic on it in this outro! Another great reaction guys :)

You two rock! Thanks so much for this reaction video. I am 61 years old and it is always refreshing to see a younger generation appreciating the golden age of rock music. Keep up the great work. Love your office, by the way. That picture of Jimi Hendrix is a killer!

By the way, would love to see you react to the song Just Got Paid, esp. a live version. Thank you.
