My wife was hospitalised in Phuket for 3 days for severe gastroenteritis after eating a western hamburger in an upmarket resort. I managed to eat street food every single day and never got sick. The lesson is, eat their local food and don't look for western food outside of a well established international chain. Unless you have an iron stomach like me.
Got sick as your wife, thought I was gonna die on a Sunday night while at a beach resort in El Salvador. My wife went driving around, everything was closed except a little food stand and beer store. An old woman at the food stand told her to have me drink two jiggers of VODKA. My wife returned with a pint and I was happy to follow instructions. Within 30 minutes I was feeling so much better(I think). No really, when I travel abroad, VODKA is the first item I buy. Oh, and it was a burger that I had eaten.
The only time I have caught food poisoning is from upmarket western establishments, never been sick after eating street/local Thai food!

My worst case was after eating a toasted ham sandwich in Mexico and being dragged out of bed the next morning and groaning as we visited the Palenque pyramid.Fortunately it was surrounded by jungle and frequently had to ducked in and out of the bushes as the stomach churned.

I've met Dr Donna few times during covid, did a few pcr tests at her clinic, such a cool easy spoken lady!
Dr Donna was amazing, I can't imagine that kind of interview in the UK with all their scare tactics.
I did think it was funny when she said that all can come and have enormous testing and you later plastered a guy coming out of a room who's smile disappears when he sees the camera all over RUclips 😂😂😂

Hospitalised for nearly a month. All good now.. on the daily meds and healthy. But my message is be careful. Only takes one wrong person to have sex with.

I remember being in Phuket and my daughter said hey dad everybody’s catching crabs! I said yes darling but that can be fixed with a shave. To this day she still has no idea what I meant.

I wish that Thailand would consider a legal and regulated adult industry. That way, programs that focus on a prevention-first approach could be supported - where education and routine sexual health checkups could improve the conditions for everyone involved while also reducing the risk of antibiotic resistant STIs developing and spreading.

You are correct that antibiotic resistant Gonorrhea is a worrying problem for the medical world. Australian treatment is an injection in both cheeks and a big dose pill, but not always successful.
Yeah I knew I read that a few months ago, pretty sure it started in Africa. It’s worrying to hear it’s in Australia cause it will be more than certain here in Thailand already😳

2-3 cases a year in regards to HIV, but there are 560,000 cases in all of Thailand. 110,000 cases in the Philippines.
Not everyone, only a select few, could afford her services and her customer base is mostly tourists that could afford her services and who are in window period for HIV. Tests could detect HIV only after a month or so of the infection.

High risk HPV like 16 and 18 and a bunch of other high risk strains will give you throat cancer, salivary gland cancers and other cancers

Good topic and yes the vaccination for this is important as when I did a trip to Chang Rai had all the shots. But some travelers did not when staying in a mountain village the mosquito net in the mornings was full of them so got bitten many times. The unlucky ones had to stay in hospital for many days what was worse no travel insurance so cost them way more in treatment than the policy costs.
