    For stylistical and other reasons, it can be said with almost certainty that this suite was NOT composed by Telemann. (Adolf Hoffmann even didn't include it in his TWV 55, but only as an appendix.)

      What are these other reasons? Telemann would sure be able to write both Italian and french stuff and his style is quite heterogeneous

      Accadeva molto spesso che all‘epoca si divertissero.
      Tra otto e novecento nacque poi l‘idea della musica „classica“ al di sopra di ogni aspetto umano, facendo volutamente dimenticare certe perle come questa.
      All‘epoca erano volgari e burloni quanto lo siamo noi oggi- forse è cambiato un po‘ il lessico e oggi siamo più puritani.

      Might be due to the overall eerieness of the movement. Eeriness as opposed as the pompous splendor or grave seriousness of pieces of music of the time.
