Before I watched this show, I actually only watched clips of Eddie and buck, thinking they were actually a couple . I finally manage to binge this show this weekend and I find out their relationship is much deeper. I love them and oh that boy Christopher is so adorable.

i cannot express how happy buck and christopher make me because i've never seen such a pure and loving relationship between an adult and his friend's kid, just the pure love buck has for christopher, and also the relationship between buck and eddie, how they are with each other, they trust and care and love each other, no matter if it turns romantic or not, having someone who cares about you that much is just so beautiful i cannot deal with it

I love how shows like 911 and Station 19 (honestly even Baby Daddy tbh) are showing representation of good single fathers. Media doesn't portray that enough

I love how inclusive they are with physical and mental obstacles in peoples life. They didnt just pick your average kid off the street to play Christopher, they chose a kind harder, strong boy that perfectly matches Eddie's character and fits as tge perfect son. They chose the perfect storylines for each character and implemented them in a way to show proper awarness to the obstacles someone can face. Its absolutely amazing. And no. I will not call them "disabilities" because they have all conquered them and watching Christopher's actor (apologies, I suck with actors/actresses real names) progress so far to the point he could play out the scene of running down the hall to check on Eddie without his crutches was SO amazing. These are just obstacles that are slowly being conquered and I truly love this fucking show.

We as viewers want "ships" to happen sooner and not be dragged out for too long.There is so much choice now that you just switch over to something else. Lone Star didn't drag out Tarlos so LA better just let it happen now in Season 5.These two can have an amazing positive story arc if the writers just do it.
to be fair not all relationships happen at once. In Eddie and Buck's case, neither character was ready for a serious relationship until the end of season 4. I'd rather they take their time to build their relationship as well as themselves well before the posibility of them getting together is on the table

Probably one of two things: 1. They're afraid of backlash from homophobic viewers. 2. One or both actors aren't comfortable doing male/male intimacy on screen. I know they've said they would be game for Buddie, or at least Oliver has. But what they say in interviews or tweets is not necessarily representative of their true feelings, they don't want to seem dismissive of the ship and piss off Buddie fans. I imagine if Tim Minear (the EP) considered making Buddie canon, he talked to both Oliver and Ryan to see how they would feel about it and maybe they've expressed some reservations.

Still, I can see why the creative team of a show would want to make sure two actors, regardless of gender, are comfortable acting out intimate scenes together before pairing off their characters. Otherwise they could end up with romantic scenes that are awkward and unnatural. In this regard, I think, for example, of Kerr Smith who played Jack McPhee on Dawson's Creek, one of the first major gay characters on American TV. Most of the time his acting was pretty good, but whenever he had to kiss a guy it looked like he'd rather be anywhere else. And that's shitty, we deserve same-sex love stories played by actors who give it their all. I do, very much, want to see Buddie happen. But if the reason it won't is that Oliver and/or Ryan aren't on board with the physical affection aspect of it, I can't really criticize that decision. (And it doesn't make them homophobic, I hate when fans suggest that.) If you're gonna do that storyline it can't be half-assed, everyone needs to be fully committed.

I love their relationship! We need more examples of healthy male friendships. Healthy platonic friendships in general, but especially male friendships. Helps erase the toxic male stereotypes that two straight men can't be close to each other. And Christopher is the cutest thing to happen to network television in a very long time.
