Sometimes I wonder how frequently cover artists just go with what they hear when doing lyrics, versus how frequently a lyric change is deliberate. I.e. in His World, there's the line "Just watch and look back again". Which is vastly different from what I think the original line actually was "Don't stop and look back again". But hey, that's okay, ideals from different writers can be fun to see. I personally like to say "Noone's gonna take a thing from us" instead of "Noone's gonna give a thing to us" when singing Fist Bump, because it's much more optimistic. And that kind of difference is part of what makes covers of foreign songs so fun to listen to - seeing the way different people interpreted or chose to write their take on the same root song. Fuckin' rad album, Nate. I've been hopped up on endorphins for no apparent reason lately and this has been a real jam session.
