This man is a national treasure. Protect him.
I couldn't have said it better myself, brother!
Great interview! I'm a metal-head sitting over in Dublin, Ireland and I've been listening to nothing but Nick since I stumbled across him. Cheers for helping to get his music out there!
ex-punk here in Glasgow ...same! thank god for youtube recommendations :p
Nick's 'Heart Of Glass' cover was truly exceptional.
I listened to his cover yesterday and I’m completely in a rabbit hole of Nick. He’s exceptionally talented
I discovered him when I saw him cover “ Heart of Glass “ by Blondie. He’s the real deal
I so dig that cover.
I think you are so talented and charmingly handsome, Nick. If I was in Arkansas, we woulda been buddies. I am a nature nerd too and my dad whistles and plays guitar ;-)
Your talent cheers up my days. During this craziness its has been needed.
punk/rude/rockabilly/swing/jazz/hip hop. those are my roots buuuutttt... in recent years i felt the call of country music and now i play drums in a country band. hail california country! hail buck owens!!!
I hope Nick gets big enough to find him and his guitar in the UK some time. Be a pleasure to hear him play live.
He's playing in October / November over here!
@@jaide2882 i saw! Picked up a ticket to see him Bolton. Can’t wait
Discovered this guy on his Sofar session a few days ago and I guess RUclips is sending me on a Nick Shoulders rabbit hole now but well, I'm not mad about it. Cheers for the podcast guys, it's a cool one.
Thanks for appreciating this divine human! He's such a delight
Lovin’ Spin that Shit! Thanks dude. Love me some shoulders too! Revolutionary 🤘
After his song that he did for Tiny Desk submission the birds were singing like crazy outside his window 😅😅😅 Not many singers can do that. 💗 it! Now a fan! Hope he wins!!
So glad I came across Nick! First time I heard him I thought he sounded like a modern day Slim Whitman. I also had the same experience as him with watching Mars Attacks the first time. Couldn’t get that song out of my head. Still to this day I annoy my wife and kids by singing “Indian Love Call”
If I only had a dollar for every time my wife has yelled at me to "Stop singing that damn yodel song", I might be able to afford some ear plugs for her! 😂
It doesn't matter if its music or interviews solid all the way through
Ugh I am in love with Nick Shoulders. I can't wait to see him live some day. Please come to Denver!
Got to see are gracious host and Shoulders lastnight and the show was amazing. Thank you for the sticker I'll be listening
I'm from Scotland and I found Nick Shoulders on a sorta pilgrimage that works for me..
Good times
I have never been a country fan, growing up in 80-90's and hearing that mainstream stuff. I did listen to some Hank 3 for a while, and still love his stuff. I just watched the entire Ken Burns documentary, and it has made me go down a country music rabbit hole. Found Nick Shoulders via a post on reddit, and just love his stuff. Stumble across this podcast and notice the meet/greet Deftones poster in the background and I knew I would be in for a treat. good stuff
"I don't think people know how crappy the shows I usually play on the road are..." not true! Saw you at the Golden Pony in Virginia, and it was plain fantastic!
Love that he brought up Almeda Riddle and Slim Whitman.
It's great to find such a fine interview with Nick like this one, well done! Thanks.
Great interview everyone, I loved this!!
I so love this man!!!
Jimmy Rodgers and slim whitman are smiling and feeling it was all worthwhile
Quality podcast guys nice work
Awesome
great stuff
This is awesome, .. I love his work.
Nick is awesome. Listening to one guy basically interviewing him who didn't get into music until Xzibit and limp bizket... pretty fuckin lame. As someone who grew up 80s metal to punk to metal.. you guys need to be better at interviewing. Nick you're the shit! Spin that shit, yall kinda shit.
aye there cookie, you have an interview channel we can all critique?
Oh no! Nick, Will you sing it again?
Grandpa Jones was from central AK
what was the artist y'all were talking about around the 18 min mark? Alan Momack? Alamo Mack?
Alan Lomax recordings.
Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans?!
hey kicks ass i thought of stompin tom at first
Y'all need to work on your audio. It sounds like this was recorded in a tin can, circa 1930.
thats kinda the point...we like retro shit
if you want the clean sound...check out his album
It doesn't even sound that bad mang
Spin that Shit Podcast it’s also over the Internet, it’s part of the whole video call recording stuff
Shut up Anthony.
Typical 2020ian will not get any of this.
