Jina, thank you for being honest and vulnerable and willing to share your journey! It’s very encouraging hearing someone else talk about the same thing I may be going through- with anxiety, worries, stress… Hearing you share your story makes me feel encouraged to continue my own practicing, on top of being a teacher and being an influence to my students. It’s important to sometimes just being honest with your students, and colleagues, as to what’s going on in your life. We all go through tough times, and we work through things together as musicians- through music, through practicing, and through having goals set for our future. I’m happy to hear you’re doing great; and I love your bravery as a violinist, teacher, and friend! ♥️

Hello. Glad you're back and your health is recovering. I thought you might have returned to Korea for a long visit or to stay. Well, you know what the doctor orders to help you feel better: PRACTICE ! ;-)

I know some one with depression and that person has used mindfulness in addition to medical treatment. I'm not judging. Depression is more complex than even what traditional medicine in the west claims to know. Research will and should continue. Plus everyone has a different genetic and therefore a different biochemistry that affects the physiology of neurotransmitters. This is nothing new to you or many others. I hope you feel that your treatment is tailored to your specific needs. One size does not suit all. I hope that you find new ways to address your personal psychology so that you don't wind up in habitual thinking that doesn't serve you well. New neural pathways will be established according to the theory and brain scans have inferred this to be the case per fMRI scans. Our thoughts of ourselves can be so influential.
