Gorgeous in GREEN 🍏. 4 spd bench TOO. Beautiful restoration work as well. And yeah, I guess I am the "EL CAMINO LOVERS" category too, as I have four 2nd Gens - two 66s, a 67, and a ratty ol 65. Currently redoing the one 66 factory 396 BB truck. And NO, it AIN'T an SS either btw, 😏 lol. GM did NOT produce the SS EL CAMINO until 1968 (for those who don't know that is 👍). Again, THAT IS a GORGEOUS CAMINO, sir. 👍 Peace....
@@rickjacobs4949 Oh, the 4 "trucks" I listed are ALL EL CAMINOS, hence the "guess I am in the ELCO lovers category 😎" (Sorry for any confusion) But I also have a 67 MALIBU, and a 55 Chevy Bel Air sedan. But yeah, I have had most every year 64-72 in Chevelle or El Camino form as TRI-5 Chevys and Chevelles/El Caminos have ALWAYS been "my thing". And YES, you are all TOO correct on the "Some people either love or hate the Elcos" unfortunately, that is. To me, obviously however? I love em. I'm 48 y.o. and grew up in and around MANY ELCOS as well the Chevelles, as that's what my older gearhead brother ALWAYS had late 70s, 80s, and BOTH him and I in the 90s 👍 And again, that's a sweet 71 ELCO you have there as the Lime Green and black have ALWAYS one of my favorites for the 71-72s indeed. Happy cruizin AND Happy Restoring! 😎

Gorgeous job you did! ALmost looks like 1970 Camaro citrus green which pops in the sun WHat cam did you use? Impressed by the bed you never see ones as nice as yours....Been wanting a 71-2 for a daily for a few yrs just out of reach $$ wise
I believe they called it Lime Green in 71'.my painter liked NAPA automotive paints so they broke down the factory code and could not duplicate 1 ingredient that was no longer available. So...they substituted a light purple pearl. Man it really popped in the sun but not to much...or to modern. The cam was a Comp Thumper 1. Yeah we spent a lot of time on the bed. Thanks! cheers!

Okay, yes it's a 454 SS El Camino, but. The color, vinyl top, bench seat with the shifter on the steering column. Sorry, I'll take the engine, you can have the rest.
Yeah it's funny how the little man original owner ordered this Elko, even had the dealership weld on a nasty trailer hitch, it was a b**** to get off and grind clean.
@port nut I'll let you know if I bump into one. Things have "changed" out here big time! Odd ball color?...green Chevys were like ass-ho#!s they were everywhere! Cheers!
