This was shared to me by someone who isn’t blood but has treated me like his daughter better than my own dad. I just been cursed out by my Grandma simply because I didn’t want to give my dad money for a down payment on his car. Then turned around after being disrespected asking me for a favor. Once I said no more being treated any ol’ way by them I simply told her I will do what you want me to do, but you would have to treat me like a human being. Because my family didn’t like the fact I set a reasonable boundary I was looked at as selfish and disrespectful. I do live with my Grandma and contribute to the apartment as I work hard to establish myself everyday I have done a lot as showing my gratitude, but was taken for granted and being down graded every chance my family gets. I still follow her rules and do what she says, but I never was treated like a human being. For once I stood up for myself respectfully then got disowned by my dad and my baby pictures burned. That hurt me in more ways than one. I continue to work hard, save, work on my credit so I can establish myself as an adult. This video spoke to me tonight. Made it easy to cut family that doesn’t add to me in my life. I am grateful for friends that empowers me everyday as I work on myself.

Yeah if you had to choose a friend that showed you more love over many years over your own mother and pick a side between the both. you can state it as a fact. But guess what im pretty sure that is a no. For the majority of the people so yes, blood is thicker then water. Your mother is blood.
That’s true my cousins don’t even reach out or talk to me anymore. They usually ignore me at family get togethers too it’s like I don’t exist.
Most people stay together with friends or a loved one longer than with their family. In fact, I really think the family concept is overrated, especially when it comes to childcare. Children should really be allowed to live without parental coercion and to live with their friends if they want to!
Well saying this would be true except who knows you more intimately your own kids. My dad likes to say this but he doesn't show his true face to anyone but us
