    Easy to do and best information 👌
    Also, just snug the screws so they aren't stripped

    Thanks for producing tools that are user serviceable. Now that I know I can service the 25mm DA polisher I will be ordering one for my shop. It’s a big inconvenience to have to ship a tool back to the manufacturer and then wait several weeks to get it back!

    Thanks for your tutorials, very helpful and informative.
    For grease exchange would you recommend lithium grease or lithium comlex grease for a da machine?

    Very helpful. What grease do you recommend to replace it with when you need to change it?

    Yvan, for the grease maintenance, I am guessing that the yearly service is recommended for pro levels of use (please confirm). For those that may use a polisher once or twice a month, how should we be thinking about service intervals?

    • @diydetailofficial
      @diydetailofficial  7 месяцев назад

      Once a year, just like engine oil it’s both time and use that degrade it.

    Question Ivan when using a smaller backing And because the machine is obviously larger and heavier than a smaller polisher. Did it feel odd ? Or balanced and tested in tight spaces were a small pad would be required? How does this machine feel and ? Was it difficult to use in narrow or small , tight spaces?
    Also, you mention that you need.to repace the Grease every year? Why is that? What type of Grease do or is installed in these polishers?
    Last quesrion, ypu states that the motor is 1100 watts? Because on your site and everywhere else, it says it has a 1000 watt motor?

      We had several detailers test the prototypes with both 5 and 6 inch pads , everyone enjoyed them with both pads. It’s very easy to use.
      Grease breaks down over time, much like you need to change the oil in your engine.
      It’s a maximum of 1100w at full stall, 1000w is more realistic.

      Yes, I am sure 5 and 6 inch is great! How about smaller backing plates/ in smaller tighter areas? How about doing a video about that?
      I glad you mentioned about changing the grease because you don't hear anyone mentioning that. Except, for Bryan at Apex detail. Which he recommends when you first receive your new polisher, to change out the cheap grease that they add in the Chinese factories with a much higher quality like Schaffers or other mfg..

    So with your polisher just hitting the market recently is this video purely informational or does it serve a purpose cause your polishers have been running into issues? I ask because im about to order your 25mm DA

      This is strictly for information, and to show that any polisher can be maintained. We have warranty repair centres across North America, but in many cases it’s easier to repair your tool than drive to the nearest shop .

    This has ben driving me crazy i see rupez and max shine say do not use 5 inch backing plate on there long throw machine but then seeing alot of people say they prefer a 5 inch backing plate on a long thru the company's saying not to do it makes sence because of the counter balance i see some polishers that say you can swith but they sell the right counter balance weight to match the pad or they have a way of adjusting the counter balance but yet i see you selling your polisher with a 5 and a 6 backing plate but no different counter balance or any way to adjust it shoot i couldve swore ive seen a old vid of ivan saying not to run a 5 inch backing plate on a machine that was designed for a 6 inch im trying to listen to yvan i feel like he is in a weird position he can say to never use soap till he is blue in the face but if the market wont listen and demands soap then he is gonna sell you soap is that kinda the case with the 5 inch backing plate for the 25 mm da that even if yvan says not to do it there will be a over wellming demand for it so just include for more sales?

    • @diydetailofficial
      @diydetailofficial  Месяц назад +1

      Our machine is designed to not rely on the pad weight for balance. The rotational mass is higher, meaning less vibration, and able to absorb small variations in weight. Using a 5 inch pad simply reduces the efficiency of the machine, if your machine can use a 6 inch backing plate use it. A 6 inch pad has about 45% more surface area to polish with, making it much more efficient.
      When speaking of soap, it depends on the audience. For a professional detailer, soap is a waste of time and profit robbing. For a hobbyist who’s cleaning for fun, not profit, then foam to your hearts content.
