I have a 2021 Titan Pro 4x, exactly like the one in this review (down to the same color, sport bar and options). I have over 30K hard miles on this truck. I promise I drive it like I stole it, its frequently air born jumping rail tracks, or just driving fast on some bad roads down here in MS.
There are no rattles, just fill it with gas and change the oil and it goes! It has held up better than either of my 2015 or 2017 F150 FX4's did and they were not driven 1/2 has hard.
My only complaint is the transmission programming in 1st gear. This thing should be able to roast the tires and instead Nissan made it so that it actually pulls pretty gentle in first gear and I don't think they give you full power until you are deep into second gear. Mine pulls harder in 2nd gear than first.
But it is bullet proof (not literaaly). Very reliable truck!!!

I had an 2005 Titan that I put over 275k miles on. It was a solid truck. I got it, turned the key to start it, and it just did what it was supposed to do without fail. I traded it in for an 2018 Titan SL. My only "complaints" on the trade are minor things. The Rockford system in my old Titan was better than the Rockford system in my current Titan. I miss the larger rear power window in the 2005. Why do truck makers bother with that tiny slider window? The old Titan was quicker off the line than the 2018, but the 2018 rides a bit better and gets a bit better mileage, so trade-offs. The best thing about Titans is that 5yr/100k warranty. if Nissan has enough confidence in the truck to offer that kind of warranty, I really don't understand why more people don't look at them. I had a few rivets break on one of the Titan boxes and Nissan replaced both boxes under the warranty, no hesitation. The next truck will also be another Titan.

I had a 2020 Tundra. I traded it in to take advantage of the high used car market. I paid $51k for a brand new 1794 edition. I got $46k with a damaged rear bumper from Nissan. The equivalent of almost $50k if you factor in the tax advantage on a trade. I brought a new 2023 Titan pro4x. Paid $55k with no fancy heated seats and stuff to break. I use my truck to go to my cabin in the woods and work. I am very happy and love the car. I got 0% financing for 60 months and the truck comes standard with 5yrs/100k bumper to bumper warranty. You can't go wrong with that deal.
Toyota wanted to rape me on the trade in deal. They offered me $42k and I had to fix the damaged bumper. I walked out. This is the dealership I have been going to for years.
I had a frontier prior to my Tundra and I loved that little truck. I cant bring myself to buying a new Tundra with a v6.
I also hate toyota's dealers elitist attitude. Nissan got my money and I am very happy. I had to get a partial warranty refund from Toyota. We discussed the deal I got from Nissan. They were upset because I didn't continue to negotiate with thwm after they tried low balling me on my trade.
Buy what makes you happy from a dealer that respects your time and money..

Great truck! Acquired the "XD" the better (tow/payload) version, in Alert Red color, Pro4x trim. 2020 and newer only come with gas engine. The XD gets, as a standard, 6.5ft bed with crew cab setup, more ground clearance, beefier brakes and stronger frame. If you want value, quality and reliability, this is it. Built in Mississippi with the best warranty in the business! Very comfortable ride quality. I almost put money down on the new tundra but had a hard pass due to no "V8", and learned about this XD version of the titan.Glad I did though. My affordable dream truck. oh and btw, i like that I do not see my truck on the roads, dirt trails often. Regular Titan is the least selling full size truck, selling on average like 1,000-2,000 titans per month. So low production and the "XD" production is even much lower. ✌️

You’ll need that 100k bumper to bumper warranty with the Titan. My 21 pro4x had transmission slipping and slamming gears at 800 miles on the odo. Traded it to avoid the headache. No more Nissan for me. They just can’t seem to figure out how to build a transmission still after all these years.

    • @scott8238

that's a throttle body issue that is covered under warranty.

    • @Jay-bw3fl
      @Jay-bw3fl 2 года назад

@@scott8238 Good to know. I Didn’t want to fight the dealer about it. It didn’t happen all the time just randomly in stop and go traffic so I knew they would say they “couldn’t reproduce it” and tell me it was fine so I just ditched it. I’ve been through that crap before with another vehicle under warranty. Thankfully I Didn’t lose any money to trade it in since the market is completely insane now. But regardless I will never buy any other Nissan.

@@Matt-oj2kl I would love to have had the same experience as you. I bought it because I think it looks excellent but they burned me. No excuse for a Tranny failure under 1k miles in a 55 thousand dollar vehicle. The guy above seems to know what the problem was so that tells me it’s probably a common issue. Consider yourself lucky and enjoy it.

Had my throttle body replaced on my 21 Titan at 20,000 miles. Had to take it to the dealership multiple times for check engine lights. It kept going into limp mode. It had to be towed to the dealership once. I have a million mile warranty but boy am I pissed. Seems okay after the throttle body replacement but I don't have much confidence in the reliability department. Absolutely maddening.

  • @robgrune3284

The Titan is the better machine for towing: V8 power, no turbos, better rear end. Tundra relies upon the turbos for power, which will be spooling and guzzling fuel constantly. Titan seats are the best in the industry, too. Tundra has a DPI engine though, which likely will not need valve carbon removal; but will the turbos last 150k miles?. Titan seems to be as reliable as Tundra, too. Titan appears to be the better value proposition.

@@enevarez1471 My hunting buddy had the infotainment system in his 2018 Ram Hemi start glitching. It's fun going down the road as the radio jumps around to different frequencies. Sometimes he gets lucky and there's an actual station on that frequency, but it's short lived as it jumps again. I can imagine the pain he's going to feel in his wallet to get that fixed.

The Titan is what a truck should be; V8 powered without a lot of the dumb electronic toys. I hate it when reviewers say that they’re not quite an F150 or Ram, because, in the real world they don’t break down like the big 3. Even Toyota missed it with the new Tundra; way too many bells and whistles to go wrong. The Titan is the most underrated truck in the country.

I will take the Titan. With the v8 (and no cylinder deactivation or auto start stop) it will be far more reliable than the Tundra. So far, Toyota has had a lot of engine issues with the new Tundra. Plus the Tundra is ugly.

You’re right the Ford F150 I came out of a 2021 you can give Toyota the turbo but with all the mess they have now they probably wish they should’ve not done them. I wanted to buy new hearing that everything is upgrading if it should’ve been with Toyota good V8 engine on the Nissan got a 2023 all the bills and whistles, platinum reserve just enough luxury, but not overdone like Ford that I have issues like ford did this Nissan so far is zero issues drives like a dream has the power and everything you need for day-to-day work play or luxury Nissan out of the ballpark reliability and luxury maybe 5 to 7 years well they’re gonna have to do something if they were come back with the new truck
