It is nice to hear so good feedback on this Polish company. Greetings from Poland ! All the best for you and your family Brent, merry Christmas and fabulous 2021 👍
Poland makes many great tactical equipments. I own Direct Action Dragon Egg Mk2. And I must say it's a great backpack, though I'd prefer the smaller Direct Action Dust Mk2 for my daily activities (I'll save my money so I can buy Dust later)
Finally!!! One of My Favorite Brands is getting some Attention... I got into Direct Action for their Carrier/Rigs & Pouch setups. Being from Poland their Pouches work Great for AK Mags. Quality is Top Notch & Very Slick. Also the Carrier is Compatible with all Crye Gear.
Didn't know Direct Action and Helicon were together. This makes me view Direct Action in an even better light than I already did. Both brands have great stuff. Nice uniform. The Dragon Egg is already awesome. Great update.
I love my Dragon Egg, it goes everywhere with me and carries pretty much everything I might need for work and in general. I've attached a few pouches to it to customize it more for me which has only made it more useful.
I have the exact same pack, and it's probably my favorite I've ever owned. I just finished an 8-week road trip across the country, hiking some of the best national parks in the U.S. and the Dragon Egg mk. 2 was my pack of choice for pretty much every hike longer than a few miles. It's much more comfortable and breathable on the back compared to my 5.11 Rush 24, and the shoulder straps and hip belt are both really well positioned and very comfortable, to the point where it takes at least 5-6 miles for the hip strap to become uncomfortable. I had a similar set up to what you show here, with two nalgenes in the side pockets, shemagh and spare underwear, socks, t-shirt, large knife and medical supplies in the main pocket, along with miscellaneous items from clif bars to compass in the outer pocket. If you're going on a day trip, you can also strap a camera tripod or something underneath the pack if you don't plan on needing a woobie or something down there. 10/10 will probably buy a second one in multicam at some point.
There is a chance that the polish MAPA experimental camouflage pattern will appear again on civilian market. At the beginning of December, backpacks covered with this pattern, which can be simply purchased, were presented. The owner of the design rights also announced that he intended to "restore" MAPA to the market. It would be amazing if company provided you with a uniform in that pattern with Dromader integrated system for carrying weapons and equipment for your familiarization. I think Gunny you would like that unorthodox pattern. Either way, I will try to get in touch with the company's marketing when they release the uniform and we'll see what comes out of it.
It does look good, but I'll admit that this isn't the environment for it right now. That is like the one green tree out there. I'll revisit it in the spring where I know it will excel.
I have used my Direct action Ghost (their larger, scalable backpack) for various activities ranging from edc to multi day adverse weather hikes for about a year and it has shown essentially no wear. The padding is so comfortable and the sternum strap is partially elastic so it flexes with your breathing, but still remains secure and distributes your load evenly. Tip with the camelback, if you have a Source pack with a 90° mouth piece, it’s easier to disconnect the hose and insert it from the outside. I think direct action makes some of the best gear out there and I’m going to be picking up one of their plate carriers soon.
You guys are getting the hook up! That's some nice kit. I see it's triple stitched and technical. Of course nothing beats the Nomex aviator gloves that you guys steal from us USAF guys if we leave them laying around 😉. Nice review!
I can confirm this backpack is solid, I have mine in a Polish Woodland camo and have used it on a few hikes, its fantastic. I'd like to add also this pack is quiet, the buckles are solid and have zero rattle, apparently it was an issue in the past however this is the MK2 version of this pack. The NIR part is new to me, didn't know this but cool feature. The pants are something I have to get.
I have on in Polish Woodland as well, but I have had a little rattle from two of the buckles. Everything else about the pack is phenomenal though and those were fixed easily enough with a little electrical tape.
I like this pack but I simply don't have the money for it at the moment. Do you have any suggestions for a cheaper alternative or maybe you could do a "Budget Warrior" video lol.
I recently bought their pants and I have to say at first you really got to break them in lol, first time it arrived at my doorstep tried it was like putting on a fresh pair of jeans but you have unlimited flexibility you can probably workout in these and even do splits in them. After a few wears while they are still new they seem to have more give after so that’s why I said theirs a break in period this is not your typically cryes, 5.11, tru specs at all. These are like if crye and UF pro had an intimate relationship had a baby and you get the direct action vanguard pants. Also pro tip don’t buy from Amazon they are ripping you off for sure. On their actual site it’s I believe $164 and with shipping and taxes it’s around $189 and if you buy it on Amazon it’s 189 but with shipping and all it comes down to $204 so get from the actual site and save yourself around 20-ish bucks. I bought this cause I’m an EMT student and their BDUs although they are comfortable loose fit and all but very restrictive in moment and they tend not to last very long. The vanguard will serve me well and I’m not paying the price of crye nor UF pros at all it’s like 5.11 XPRT price so pretty reasonable, for me it was as an investment and will be buying more from them in the future, because they are comfortable to wear and have a lot of give, the only few complaints I have is that I wish it had back pockets, and the zipper pocket was more forgiving and had a “divider” inside of them so you can store just a little more in your pants. I do like the idea that the standard cargo pocket on the sides have velcro on them if you decide to leave that open pretty neat touch and also the close if velcro too. Wish it was made in Poland but that would’ve increased the cost so yeah I get it, but still a quality “combat oriented” pants. If you are asking about EMS wearing blue you have two options blue or black that’s the only color you can wear ,tan ,Ranger green, olive multicam (let’s not go there now) it’s a big no. Forgot to mention I did know that helicon is the sister company of direct action the way I think of it as Cabot and alchemy custom.
Velcro is really really LOUD when you're sneaking around the woods. I much prefer old school buttons. I wish the current military would get a solid clue about stealth uniforms. Unbelievable. I remove most velcro. It sucks. DA does make sweet bags, I've got their larger one with the helmet carrier ("Ghost") and added an IFAK pouch and a SAW pouch on either side, packing it now for a winter weekend. And a shoutout to PA scopes, adore mine.
Marine Corps utilities are still buttons actually. With the exception of the breast pockets, but you can't use those when your in the field anyways because they're under your gear.
Had a bit of a problem with the flap behind the knee with the DA Vanguard pants. The flap got almost broken off halfway during exercise. Their delivery was pretty bad, took me almost 3 months to get new ones.
@@Brent0331 You should check out the new Halifax bag from Direct Action Gear. I really like it. I got the grey one to check out but waiting for them to release the multicam.
Super cool designed uniform, the knee and elbow reimforcement is a wise choice. Regarding the wildwood I like the color scheme of this one over the greenzone but it is too isoluminant IMHO
Another great video. What would you consider to be the best all around camo pattern? Never quite got the whole digicam craze, it’s not like you find that in nature.
hey Brent, hope you had a great Christmas and a good new years ! my problem is im 6ft 4, 390, ( little guy ) lol and i can never find stuff like this in my size... 4 or 5x !!!! many new year prayers from Abilene Tx.
Good video man! I don't care for cargo pockets where only Velcro squares are used to close the flaps. Not the most secure in my experience and I now avoid combat pants with this feature if I can do so.
Timely, I just ordered some camogrom UTP pants by Helikon last night. Stuff's hard to come by in the U.S. I really like that pattern, I would of been all over it if I had more gear to match it.
Can you actually get their stuff unlike Helikon? I like Helikon but their sizing is weird and if it's wrong you have to pay for return shipping. Occasionally you can find an item with prime on Amazon but they need to sell more that way
So Brent, just saw the UPS man drop off a package at my neighbors. It is hazy and overcast outside, no snow yet, but lots of dark browns because of leafless trees and a mix of yellows with the dead grasses. I was impressed that the UPS guy in his dark brown uniform and brown watch cap blended in quite nicely against the dark brown tree line. Any thoughts or opinions on all brown camo for much of the US at this stage of late Autumn, early winter with no snow on the ground? Seems that a Carhartt blend of off the rack stuff might do in a pinch. Thanks.
Love your videos! Do you have any recommendations for grassland/prairies camouflage? I live in Saskatchewan Canada. It's mainly grasslands and some light forested areas.
Brent, any chance of some Crye Precision reviews coming up? I know they have quite a premium, but I'm sure more viewers than myself would like to know if the price is for the name alone, or if the quality and durability match the price.
Hey Brent I was wondering if you could do a review on the medium molle ruck and assault pack Camo pattern doesn’t matter I know it’s army gear but I would to see the load out what would be carried in them for a mission. Thank a lot for Alice lid fix with flex seal worked awesome
I'm done with the MOLLE II ruck brother. I did my time with it and I don't wish that nightmare on anyone, therefore I will not highlight it. Virtually every frame broke on us in country. Go ALICE or buy something else, don't waste your money on that pos.
Brent0331 thanks for input I really do appreciate.I do have the Alice medium and the LIBE2 the Alice fix was awesome. Great show can’t wait for the next one thank you for your service my brother god bless 🇺🇸🇺🇸
I've done U.S. equipment and weapons, I have not done NVA/VC, you're going to have to wait till the spring and summer come back around. Its on my list of things to do.
Can you make a video about Vietnam war weapons that were used in the Vietnam war and dont forget the vc and nva and if you can put the south vietnamese faction in the video please I would really appreciate it. 😀😀😀😃😃👍👍👍👍👍👍😁😁😁😃😃😀

Awesome thanks for sharing.
Awesome brother, thanks for sharing your experiences with this gear with us.
I have on in Polish Woodland as well, but I have had a little rattle from two of the buckles. Everything else about the pack is phenomenal though and those were fixed easily enough with a little electrical tape.
This green pattern would work great with multicam tropic chest rigs I think... The lighter version probably best with multicam regular or arid
Good and thorough review as always
D.A. for Helicon is like Lexus for Toyota. Its premium level.
Always Nice to see something from our country. Regards! All the best for Christmas!
Thanks brother, Merry Christmas!
Good stuff. Looks like that would make for a good pack hauling the 77 around.
Ha, it sure would. Not sure I want haul that brick though.
Direct Action to Helikon is like Lexus to Toyota. And yes, those companies are linked (this same ownership)
I like this pack but I simply don't have the money for it at the moment. Do you have any suggestions for a cheaper alternative or maybe you could do a "Budget Warrior" video lol.
Medium ALICE pack is calling your name brother.
Old school ALICE is the way. And there is a ton of mods you can do to it.
Medium ALICE, or any of the near-to-sub-$100 assault style packs out there.
That pattern would look great with my MultiCam tropic kit
Of all the camouflage patterns, I still like ATACS best.
Good review video bro. 👍
I love the A-tacs too, but Pencott Wildwood is a great contender.
Awesome! I still use it for everyday
sir, can you make a video about Pencott Wildwood?
Cool products and review
Thanks
Great review! Thanks!
Appreciate it.
i have the pack, same camo. great little pack.
Awesome, thanks for sharing.
Really like the pack. Well thought out design.
Got to look up "how to open velcro silently" its a great video
This is an excellent pack, but I just wish the interior was lighter in colour, so you can find things easier.
Interesting thought.
looks good and your pencott video backs this works well
Thanks brother.
Thank you for being very detailed. Helps me stretch my dollars.
What would you use your purchases for?
@@counterinsurgencyadvisor4289 Camping.
Thanks for watching and commenting brother.
OUTSTANDING!!🤜🤛🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks
Sick!
Nice pack , some good features including a great admin layout , good vid. :)
Thanks
Good looking gear. Thanks.
Had a bit of a problem with the flap behind the knee with the DA Vanguard pants. The flap got almost broken off halfway during exercise.
Their delivery was pretty bad, took me almost 3 months to get new ones.
Hey Brent in ur opinion is this color pattern better than multicam tropic for north texas spring or not much different?
I haven't used this during the spring yet
@@Brent0331 gotcha
that is a nice pack. i would like to see you incorporate pack weights in your reviews
Just might do that brother, thanks for the suggestion.
I have the same setup in multicam. I can say the quality is very good and it has been through very harsh testing.
Awesome, thanks for sharing.
@@Brent0331 You should check out the new Halifax bag from Direct Action Gear. I really like it. I got the grey one to check out but waiting for them to release the multicam.
Like the camo
Me too.
Super cool designed uniform, the knee and elbow reimforcement is a wise choice. Regarding the wildwood I like the color scheme of this one over the greenzone but it is too isoluminant IMHO
I'll be interesting to see how it does in the spring.
Reminds me of Cadpat but velcro instead of a button is a NO GO..
Cool video👍
Thanks
Another great video. What would you consider to be the best all around camo pattern? Never quite got the whole digicam craze, it’s not like you find that in nature.
I just want unique patterns on M65 and similar field jackets.
Do you get to keep the Dragon when it hatches ?
Cool design
hey Brent, hope you had a great Christmas and a good new years ! my problem is im 6ft 4, 390, ( little guy ) lol and i can never find stuff like this in my size... 4 or 5x !!!! many new year prayers from Abilene Tx.
hey brent what do you think about the (karrigan SF predator 30) bag?
Good video man! I don't care for cargo pockets where only Velcro squares are used to close the flaps. Not the most secure in my experience and I now avoid combat pants with this feature if I can do so.
Thanks for watching and comment brother.
Timely, I just ordered some camogrom UTP pants by Helikon last night. Stuff's hard to come by in the U.S. I really like that pattern, I would of been all over it if I had more gear to match it.
Yeah not much offered in Pencott patterns here in the states. Its a shame.
Can you actually get their stuff unlike Helikon? I like Helikon but their sizing is weird and if it's wrong you have to pay for return shipping. Occasionally you can find an item with prime on Amazon but they need to sell more that way
Just ordered one, is the uniform nir treated?
I know you said the bag was NIR compatible, are the pants and shirt?
Ironic I was looking at the Dragon Egg pack months ago.
What is the plate carrier you showed ?
What's a good brand for chest rigs? Any in arid camo patterns?
Why do they use so many velcros? Ain't velcro makes a lot of noise?
If you ever want to get rid of some of that camouflage you accumulate I'd be more than happy to take some
No chance brother!
I like pencott for helicon tex
So Brent, just saw the UPS man drop off a package at my neighbors. It is hazy and overcast outside, no snow yet, but lots of dark browns because of leafless trees and a mix of yellows with the dead grasses. I was impressed that the UPS guy in his dark brown uniform and brown watch cap blended in quite nicely against the dark brown tree line. Any thoughts or opinions on all brown camo for much of the US at this stage of late Autumn, early winter with no snow on the ground? Seems that a Carhartt blend of off the rack stuff might do in a pinch. Thanks.
Check out my video featuring SADF nutria brown.
@@Brent0331 Looks like a winner. Good stuff.
Hey Brent, is it possible for you to do a review on the new russian rucksack 6SH118?
I was looking for that "Dragon Skin" body armor/cammie uniform. Whatever happened to that?
Looks like the apple green rit dyed ucp camo
This pattern seems to work much better than multicam…
Nice!
Thanks
Poland buys F-35 from the USA, USA buys clothes from DA from Poland 🙂
Ha, yup.
Man i swear we live in the same part of Texas
@Apex Alpha I’m like 1hr south of Durant, Ok and 1hr north of Frisco
I'm very near your A/O brother.
Looks like a good 72 hr pavk
Agreed
the pack is nice i reckon but you cant beat the old BDU , DCU uniforms the world has gone multicam crazy
Love your videos! Do you have any recommendations for grassland/prairies camouflage? I live in Saskatchewan Canada.
It's mainly grasslands and some light forested areas.
Look up his video on PenCott Badlands.
@@1187travis will do thanks!
@@dodoDodo-of6pu Badlands is good to go, might check out the latest phantomleaf pattern I did as well.
@@Brent0331 Thank you! I'll check out the video!
Hey Brent if you had to choose one camo for a lifetime what would it be? Woodland?
Clearly I'm not a one pattern guy.
@@Brent0331 we all know that!
Brent, any chance of some Crye Precision reviews coming up? I know they have quite a premium, but I'm sure more viewers than myself would like to know if the price is for the name alone, or if the quality and durability match the price.
I don't have any plans for it currently brother, maybe in the future.
Great show can’t wait for the next one thank you for your service my brother god bless 🇺🇸🇺🇸
could you do a test or review on the turkish m2008 camo also known as turkish nano camo
I don't currently have any.
@@Brent0331 alright, thx for the answer
Ok what is the video called and he forgot the vc and the nva weapons and equipment
I've done U.S. equipment and weapons, I have not done NVA/VC, you're going to have to wait till the spring and summer come back around. Its on my list of things to do.
Looks a lot like cadpat.
there is a guy from my school who uses that backpack as his school pack. seems to be very effecient
I guess if it can survive the field it can handle a school desk.
@@Brent0331 i suppose so but school is tough😂
RAH!
What carrier were you wearing at 1:21 ?
That is the current issue Marine Corps plate carrier.
He already did a long while ago.
Grinch camo.
蠻好看的迷彩
so you are telling me that i can be the water guy carrying 2 canteens and like 3 camelbaks in just that pack?
Yup. Could mix in a few extra Gatorades for the guys too.
@@Brent0331 oh yes good idead
That’s a lot of Velcro.
Best flag is the American flag.
Almost the same features as Emerson
