  • In this video, we're discussing Beyond Good and Evil written by Friedrich Nietzsche.
Beyond Good and Evil is quite possibly Nietzsche's greatest work (perhaps alongside Thus Spoke Zarathustra) and you see nearly all of his core concepts mentioned within it. He challenges conventional beliefs and moral claims that leave your worldview in disarray - but for good reason. This book helps you broaden and deepen your understanding of what truth is, how morality is formed, and more.
This video is part of my 5-part Nietzsche November series where I'm breaking down one of Nietzsche's books each week, exploring the key themes and core concepts within the text.

    Excellent video!
I find this book to be rather divisive. I passionately agree with certain of Nietzsche's points, while just as strongly disagreeing with many others.
    Keep up the great work!

I read Beyond Good and Evil some years back, (sadly it was the first philosophy book I have ever read) since I tried to read easier books like Meditations and the Nicomachean Ethics so I can slowly work my way up to Nietzsche. All these books were a pretty easy read compared to Sun and Steel by Yukio Mishima. It is the hardest book I have read by far. It really shows the different thinking between western and eastern people. Really hope you will try to tackle eastern stuff in the future too. You were just in my recommended, very entertaining video and the sound and video quality is also good. You earned a sub! :D

Like you, I also felt stupefied by this book as an early read before I started back with the Nicomachean Ethics and earlier western work. I plan to delve more into eastern philosophy soon! So much amazing material to read!

If you haven't done mediations that would be awesome!

Despite that book being exhausted by many other videos and creators, that’s not a bad idea! Perhaps I can do a mini series on the stoics. I appreciate you watching!

@TheActiveMind1 I stumbled across your channel on accident, and I find it to be very cool, fun stuff. I'm sure Ryan Holiday doesn't leave much air in the room when it comes to the stoics, but I always appreciate the viewpoints of any man on the Stoic works. I always seem to gain a deeper understanding of one piece or another when a new voice enters.
