I just want to make it clear to all the lawyers in the comment section that this is a demonstration about turning flat artwork into vectorized artwork . none of these objects will be sold. and for all the people about to say “but what about this video aren’t you gonna make money on this video” i’ll probably make $1000 on this video across the entire year.. if anybody knows the person that drew the hammers and that anvil I’d be happy to donate all of it to the persons.
Hope that I’m not being a lawyer. I just thought it looked like it. Not a 100% recreation. Nor was I implying you copy righted. Sorry for any confusion. You are a king in my books, you don’t need my approval. Think everyone is Sue happy anyway.
Really showing why Jimmy is successful. He mixes everything that’s core tenant to designing with every imaginable physical crafting discipline. Unafraid of anything and versatile. How he keeps it all together and focuses is amazing too.
Impressively crisp. I made Christmas presents like this, but used a 3D printer for the die, and a simple vice plus home made jig for the press. The 3D printing achieves the same effect as the laser cutting, allowing a lot of fine control of the images and text, using a combination of inkwell and blender.
I have the same reaction every time I have an idea and I'm able turn it into an object in an hour or two. The tools we have are amazing these days... They are much faster vehicle to connect our brain to the physical world... Great stuff Jimmy, Derek and Chris.
Super interesting & motivating, just amazing how quick you went from idea to finished product. I have a small cnc, a 3d printer & a screw press so my mind is boiling up with ideas. Thank you for sharing & inspiring!
Wow, I learned more about illustrator from this video than a couple hours of tutorials I've watched in the past, probably because it's more geared to what I need to do. Great stuff Jimmy, thanks for always teaching.
I thought this was another laser cutting video, got confused when artwork flipped and the Corian. Ended with a giant smile, great project, thank you gentlemen.
Jimmy I'm sure you can make some nice brass belt buckles with a leather embossed front, the possibilities are endless. You could even make a CNC impression on a Corian roller wheel( much like an English wheel) to do a continuous embossed design on the whole belt. The belt and buckle would go great with Diresta work pants, knife sheaths, tool bags
Jimmy I hate to say it but this is the very first time I ever fell asleep during one of your videos. What sucked was I am really interested in the subject. I must be getting old or do shit lol. You know I was born in 1966 so yeah lol 😂
QUICK TIP: making that second circle, instead of copying and pasting, which pasted it in a semi random spot making you line it up again, you can copy then paste in place (CMD-F) and it pastes its directly on top, and then you can make it larger from the center holding alt, and youll save yourself some time. if you are using illustrator a lot like i do, small things like this helps speed things up.
Great video. Thank you. Can you provide any details about the huge press that you use? Is there a modern-day equivalent that can be purchased? Thanks again.
I think.....the hammer had more energy/ potential when it was floating above the anvil. Also "Diresta" might be good as the handle of the Hammer, or some variation on that idea. Diresta being the hammering force.
Cool lesson. Any suggestions for the best way to apply pressure if I don't have a giant press? Would putting it between some flat stock and wood clamps do the trick?
Fun little demo! Kinda surprised the driver app for the laser doesn't import svg files directly. Or is that just your workflow to transfer the file? Whatever works, I suppose. Thanks for sharing!

3 years ago you started me on leatherworking and it’s became a love and hobby and even a business thank you jimmy.
I think you need to have the "Derek" guy in more videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please do more lessons like this! So good
Never thought on googling on silhouette. Thanks for the pro tip
DEREK!!! I love it when you feature “the guy from the place”
Doing the thing that he did
Fantastic informative video. Definitely do more of this kinda format. Thanks for sharing.
I thought this was another laser cutting video, got confused when artwork flipped and the Corian. Ended with a giant smile, great project, thank you gentlemen.
How deep was cut in the first die you tried ?
One such autographed emblem will be of great value.
In the graphic industry, raised images are referred to as "Embossed Images" a recessed image is called "debossed image" ... just a FYI
So you'd want that backwards for this process, right?
Deboss the image so that it flips and makes an embossed image in the final product?
@@DanteYewToob yes...
Haha...I always struggle with the word silhouette too. You'd think after searching for about a million times....I'd remember!
Great video!
Awesome! I had been hoping to see you do a lesson like this 😃. Thanks for all the great information you share with us Jimmy.
Please do a video on that press!
I’d love to see more of this. Really helpful computer work for what we do.

I know. This will be one time a year.
Holding shift is common across most image editing programs to maintain aspect ratio. I've done alot of work in Photoshop and Blender.

At google images you can also hit the tools button > Type > and then "Line drawing"
What a team! Thanks for the start to finish lesson on illusrator and leather... and that press!!!

We got to teach Jimmy to use Cmd+F! Paste in place! It just used it. It's great. ⌘F
It’s great to see that covid isn’t affecting your area.
The covidviruses all got flattened on his press.
@@doubledarefan Ah, of course. Lol
Jimmy's talents will never cease to impress!! Well done, again 😂

Never boring. You're always up to the neatest stuff!
Great video. Thank you. Can you provide any details about the huge press that you use? Is there a modern-day equivalent that can be purchased? Thanks again.
Patrick's Workshop told me to write that "You are the best woodworker..Ever!"
Excellent video. Informative and entertaining. Great work.
Great into to all the basics in getting started with Illustrator. I am going to have to get some corian, and I guess a laser?

Awesome video Jimmy!!!! 👊🏻😉
Jimmy, you are such a great teacher !
You never disappoint. GREAT JOB.

Oh man, I love that! Makes me wish I had the equipment to do stuff like that as well! 😁

This is awesome D! I see you working with different materials. Can you try something with Glass?
