I love how Leylah always plays so determined and fresh, even when we know she's been grinding on the tour. And Jessica is just quietly stable and reliable, and in this match, her sheer talent, which I think is often overlooked by bigger personalities and flashier play styles, really shone.

Stopped watching when it was 4-0 in the second set. Fernandez is really improving her game. She can really compete against these top players. I really hope she’ll go deep in the US Open.

What a condensed quarter-final encounter. Although Pegula looks more favorite than Fernandez, Canadian tennis competitor has compelled the limits and frontiers on the pitch in order to bring off the gruelling contests and proving her development. Leylah Fernandez is absolutely one of the ever-evolving competitors in this era. She makes a gorgeous impact with her steady upturn. As to Pegula, she has deserved to gain such a demanding clash against Fernandez.

I didn't watch the match so I can't say if the quality of play of both players was good, but Leylah defended herself very well, especially in the last two sets. I would have liked to see her in the semi-finals of a tournament again, but the good thing is that she is playing very well again, which is good news, especially before the US Open,b ut congratulations to Pegula for still being in the semi-finals of a tournament.

Leyla needs to stop playing their game and play her game. She's way better at net than most of her competitors. It's obvious she doesn't understand her strengths, that's her weakness. Even if she gets short balls, she refuses to come and close out points, instead she continues rallies from the baseline and loses points.😢

Fernandez played about 20 more points on serve in this match. I can't fathom how Pegula let slip a 4-0 lead in the 2nd, and a break lead in the 3rd set.
