Smile Again was the first song that I heard and it did sound like Korn but the more I listened to it and their other songs CK Smile has a great voice and I don’t hear Korn anymore. I hear Chaoseum. I love their music.

Chaoseum is a band that was already recognized in the 90s and early 2000s , it was called KORN. However I do agree they have a dope sound which also keeps me listening

I was born in 86, this kind of music was part of me growing up in the 90's. I'll never forget my generation's music and it's so fucking badass to hear it again, in a new context, in 2022. I feel like you guys have tapped something that alot of us secretly want again, and you did an amazing job of it in the process, sounding like an emerging nu-metal band from the early 00's but somehow keeping it original and bringing it back to us now. Never give up on what you are doing, because we fucking love it and want more.

ABSOLUTELY bro!!I couldn't agree more. I was born in '86 as well...December 21st! Anyways....my first REAL transition into a metalhead was when I was like 12, someone introduced me to Korn's Follow The Leader album and BOOM! I was addicted to it lol Korn, Slipknot, Chevelle, Marilyn Manson, Orgy, Coal Chamber etc and even Limp Bizkit lol, then Disturbed, SEVENDUST(one of my fav bands along with Chevelle, Slipknot etc) Linkin Park, and the list just goes on and on and on and on. But altho Chaoseum initially got hit with some "Korn rip-off" comments etc...but I call bullshit!! CK Smiles has a similar vocal tone as JD for sure, but for me they are so different from one another!! As a die-hard Korn fan beginning in 1998....I don't care one bit to admit that I love EVERYTHING this band has released since CK became vocalist...all their live acoustic renditions as well..and I personally think Chaoseum is KILLING IT and their music thus far IN MY OPINION is way better than 80- 90% of everything Korn has released since their Issues/Untouchables albums era. Was hooked on Chaoseum the first time I heard Smile Again and basically every other song I've heard by them too. Forever Anxiously waiting for anything new from these guys

The range of CK's voice is just amazing. I know he doesn't think of himself as a singer necessarily (he said that in an interview😂) but his voice and range from screaming to singing to higher notes is quite impressive. The whole band is quite talented. Great job guys!🤘👍👍

As a lifelong fan of Korn, I think this is absolutely beautiful stuff. To me, this is a band that shared that same love of Korn that we all had growing up, and now they’ve stepped up to carry the metaphorical torch and continue that legacy, with their own special touch.

CK Smile and Chaoseum is more than just Korn 2.0. For me, best Band since Years. And the best is, my 12 Years old Daughter likes Chaoseum too. :D
Yeah, many people heard "Smile Again" and immediately thought everything in their catalog was going to be derivative of Korn, but "Smile Again" is the most Korn-sounding song they have. Yes, CK's voice is similar to Jonathan's and the downtuned guitars that were a staple of nu metal are a hallmark of Korn's sound, but Chaoseum definitely has their own take on the style. It's a case where you can clearly see the influences, but have the sound evolve in a different direction.

Don't care who they supposedly sound like , every single song i have heard is theirs and theirs alone. This song is so damn amazing , still shaking my head , like wtf did i just listen to. Ck's voice is dangerous , and I really loved the chuckle with the drummer , that was pretty cool
The blend of fantasy metal with symphonic and death metal is what drew me to chaoseum.
Been listening to hard rock and heavy metal since 86' and I have to say these guys are badass as hell..My favorite song by them is 'Smile Again' now this is my second favorite..🤘🤘 Never to old to enjoy real music..

This is the best band I've found in the last 5 years and this album feels like they expanded their sound even more. Seriously good band.

Korn is my favorite band. They have been for about 20 years. I would never say any songs that are inspired by them are actually better than the real thing. Except this one... This has everything I could ever want in a song. It's like nu metal collided with thrash. It's amazing.

i just discovered u guys through the song "smile again" while trying to find newer bands that play nu-metal type of music. i LOVE smikle again & instantly went and bought that album. PLEASE continue to make more songs like Smile Again ( i know some ppl are saying you sound like Korn, but its a compliment, we need more bands like that) your guys sound is similar, but also unique and ur own. Keep going & make more catchy songs like smile again. im rooting for u guys

Greg is probably one of the best drummers I've ever heard. He does amazing things on a comparatively smaller drumset to other bands. I think he's my new hero 🤩🤩

How is this band not more well known than they are ? They are amazing and I haven't stopped listening to them for the past year and a half
Chaoseum are amazing at capturing a sad tone and sad lyrics with their heavy metal style, alot of people see the similarities to Korn and I'm not saying they aren't there but Chaoseum have such a good style that I wouldn't say Is purely Korn because it's not, Joanthan Davis had a really creative sound with Korn but CK smile and everyone else in Chaoseum have the sound but their lyrics and overall tone feels completely original.
I agree and would go so far as to say a lot of their songs are heavier. His screams and his growls add so much more to their music
@@rogerbrown4228 I also think something that helps is they are spaced out and not overdone and I'm actually glad it's not like that because if there was too much more I think it would take away from their music
It's abit like Korns natural progression from Untouchables onwards, ya know before Korn started writing boring songs, and if Korn learned to play lead 😂 still Korns first 5 albums are the pinnacle of nu metal

I have a cinnamon turquoise Greek cheek conure parrot who is almost 5 years old. He has never acted like he likes music. Anytime I play this song he gets excited and dances to it. I'm 16 and I have been listening to bands like KoRn, Slipknot all my life and discovering this a few days ago I am actually in love with this band.
Ironically I started listening to Korn and slipknot when I was 14-15 ish. Back in 1998, 99, 2000 ish lol
