I did but since I didn't have a car with a faulty alternator I don't know if that function works. Even today none of the vehicles in my home have faulty alternators so I haven't tested that function. Bad batteries are a lot more common, if not inevitable if you keep a car for more than 3 years, specially in hot climates. And sure enough, this device does detect faulty batteries. If you want more functions such a crank test, charging test, alternator test, and so forth, I would recommend the Innova 5610. I have not done a review on this device yet because I want to spend at least a year using it, but so far it's amazing. It has a lot of "bidirectional" active tests that your average OBDII scanner doesn't have. You can look at other reviewers on RUclips about it
Gawd
Just wondering here. Did you test all the other functions on this tester before recommending this device?
