I wasn't very religious at all for a long time. A friend of mine played this song for me and it just shook me. Not some holy i seen god moment. But when i went and really read and felt the lyrics, the fact the swiss men sacrificed so much for god and the pope really gave me the extra push i needed to try to find god and jesus. Such a beautiful piece of art.

I'd guess because there's an unofficial music video to this song that uses clips from of a Swedish movie set in the crusades, that's been watched 13 milllion times. And I'd guess that footage matching to the song wasn't available to make that video. While there are at least 2 movies about this particular sack of Rome (1920 and 1993, both Italian), and a hard copy of the 1993 movie is available on Amazon at collectors' prices -shipping only in NA - I couldn't find them available for streaming anywhere, legally or otherwise.

This solved my one problem with the original it wasn't long enough the only problem with this one is it's not long enough.

Why do they keep referring to the Crusades? This song was dedicated to the Last Stand of the Swiss Guard during the Sack of Rome in 1527.
It does sound a song for the crusades, especially the chorus.
