Your granddaughter did such a great job and such special memories that you are sharing together as you teach her to quilt. She will always remember that time you spent with her. Your Farm Girl scrappy blocks are adorable. I can't wait to see how you put them all together.
I loved everything you shared...beautiful stitching and beautiful quilting. Your granddaughter should be so proud of herself! Her first quilt is beautiful! Fingers crossed she's caught the quilting bug and it brings her a lifetime of creative joy. Can't wait to see your progress on your new starts -- you have some fantastic pieces planned. Happy stitching my sweet friend!
Hi Nancy. I love your videos any way you make them: 1 part or 3 parts. Everything you showed is beautiful. Congratulations to your granddaughter for her quilt. Being a beginner quilter I might do the FQ Shop beginner quilt. Thank you for taking the time to make the videos.
Always enjoy your videos :) Wonderful that your granddaughter was game for a quilt! I have been teaching my granddaughters (7 and 9) to cross stitch. Hope they like it enough to make it a life long hobby.
Hi Nancy, I was so happy to have found you. i loved all 3 parts and love that you sew on Aida, your work is beautiful. as a return to cross stitching after a small stint 25 yrs ago, i consider myself a newbie, and use Aida also, though i am about to start the prim series on 28 ct lugana , not sure how that will go. otherwise im happy on Aida too I think. i have been a long time Lori holt fan, she taught me to quilt (well her book farm girl vintage sew along did in 2015 ) and I'm still all about Lori Holt today. I love her work and her cross stitches are what got me started again. which in turn i found you tube lol have a great week T xx
Your granddaughter’s quilt is amazing! She did an excellent job! I like the shorter videos so, that way if I only have a short amount of time I can get through one and come back to catch the others, whereas with longer videos, if I have to stop, sometimes RUclips “resets” on my iPad, so then when I come back, I can’t just pick up where I left off, and sometimes I forget I was in the middle of a video that I need to finish.
I love your videos! Your work is simply gorgeous!! I did know until today that you were stitching on aida . Thank you so much for sharing. Now I feel like I can stitch something too because I don't see well enough to learn to use linens.
Hi Nancy! I have many of those same Lori Holt 12" blocks, as well. And I still need to do something with mine. I've thought about making some of them into project bags, or a quilt. Lately, I've been busy on my Red, White and Bloom embroidery blocks. I'm enjoying that--I'm learning how to machine embroider. I have had my machine for many years, but used it very little a long time ago. So I'm basically learning from the beginning. I also have cut out the fabric for the houses in my Summerville quilt. I will probably start putting some of those together next weekend. I'm just learning how to post pictures on instagram. I thought I could post from my computer, but it looks like I can only post from my phone. Anyway, that's the way I've been doing it. I forgot to put the "qal" on the end of "#quiltyvilleqal". So I don't think many people saw my fabric. I know you did, and Janet (Heather's mom--can't think of their channel name either--and I love it lol) Anyway, until next time have fun stitching, and quilting, or just doing whatever it is you love. Diane
Hi Nancy:-)) I really like your videos being 3 parts..your granddaughters quilt is great..she did such a nice job!! She is lucky she has such a nice and talented Nana :-)))))) until next time take care Kathy
Love your videos! Nancy , when you work on 14 count aida, how many threads do you use, especially sometimes you might have a one or one situation. I don't know if I'm making any sense. Your workmanship is just lovely. Love how you did the sheep virtues. Talented lady! Have a great day!
I don't have a link but if you go to Lori Holt's blog and type in vintage quilt along it will take you to her quilt along she did for the quilt. Then from there you just scroll down and you should see a list of blocks and can find it from there. If you are still having problems let me know
