  • Quick tutorial on how to make a set of turn signals for your ebike. This was wired to be used with an external battery so this application can be used on just about any e-bike, pedal bike, scooter, etc.

    Thank you. I have been searching for a video that shows me how to set up turn signals. Believe me, there are a ton of them on RUclips. They were too confusing and also it's probably because they were a little too complicated (for me to follow). Finally, you cleared up everything and with this video everything worked perfectly. Even your (pencil) drawing for the wire connections helped me alot. Whenever I made a mistake I only had to look at your diagram and everything became clear.Thanks so much.

    Thinking of doing this but with a 5ah Makita battery and a buck converter to put out 12v, but principle is same for any drill battery I think. Most people have em, mine as well use em

      I’ve seen someone post something similar on the FB groups. Definitely is a viable option for sure.

    Thanks for the video. Good job. So to use those blinkers you didn't use a step down converter to 12v from the 52v.

      Thank you. For the S2 and RX, no step down needed. They’re already set for 12V

    Do the turn lights have a built in relay the ones I used just light up no blink

    You need to have to have a fuse on the anode (+) wire

    Always a great idea to face the rear blinkers to the sides, so no one behind can actually see them blink...

    My e bike (ANIIOKI AQ177) already has rear turn signals built into the tail light with a switch from the manufacturer.
    I want to add front turn signals . Can I splice into the existing wiring to add them?

      👍🏼. Just splice in the extra two lights the same way. I didn’t do it only because I lost one of the lights at Home Depot while looking for mounting brackets to work with it 🤦🏻‍♂️

      The package actually came with 4 blinkers. I took one to Home Depot to find brackets and when I got home I realized I left it in the cart 🤦🏻‍♂️

    Awesome video dude!!! Im in the UK and just wondering how will i know which indicators to get so i dont need the flasher relay? Going to get this on my bike asap :)

    I bought the Loomenade turn signal kit for $200 cdn then built a way better kit for $50 from aliexpress

      Aliexpress is damn amazing! Because of it, My amazon cafe racer looked much more luxurious than super73's and any other stock cafe racer style for sure!😂 I did this mod, only difference is I hot wired it with the controller it self. My bike already has turn signals but very weak on daylight. I installed a motorcycle ones from Aliexpress, $3 a piece! I bought 8 LMAO! Shipping time is always the hardest part😢

    Are you charging the portable battery through the bikes existing system? if not, how long does that battery last with the signal lights?

      The battery lasts quite a bit. I use it to run my headlight as well. I haven’t run it down till it died, however, I’ve been on night rides (using the headlight) for about an hour and still had plenty of juice left by the time I got home. Since I’ve had the battery pack, I’ve only charged it twice so far.

    What if you wanted to add 2 front as well? How would that wiring look

      Same way. Just splice them in - Left w/ Left. Right w/ Right

      Yes. If you’re using these exact same blinkers, you can just splice an extra pair in and mount them upfront.

      Yes. Just had to splice it to the DC connector

      @@Eattrvlroll getting ready to add side flashers as well :-) front and back also figured out the taillight problem I'm just using a push on/off button to toggle the brake light as I need it works great

    how long does it last before needing to recharge the pack?

      Since I’ve had it, I’ve only charged it twice and only because I wanted to top it off before any longer rides. I’ve been on numerous night rides using the headlight and have never dropped below 3/4 battery

    I'm trying to do this with a different switch that has green yellow blue and red wire instead of just red and black. I'm so lost lol

      You should be alright. Once the wires are figured out the rest is easy.

    Does it matter when joining together different guage wires?

      For this, probably not a big deal. I’m no electrician though, so I wouldn’t mixing different gauge wires for other things.

      Sorry, I couldn’t tell you for sure. I’ve never wired it up that way, but, I don’t see why it couldn’t work.

    Hi there, I've been trying your method and unfortunately I'm it's not working out for me, here's what's happening, I got all the connections as you mentioned, I turn on the right side lights and it works then I try the second side but it doesn't work :(
    Edit: turns out that the blue wire on the switch was the (off) for me, all works for now.

      Were you able to get it to work? Without seeing it wired up, I can’t really troubleshoot it. I’d recommend redoing it from scratch, maybe there’s a loose connection?

      How did you manage to run the cables through the bike ? Cable management and all and battery mounting point.

      @@NinbAdamgood, I’m glad you got it working. I ran it along the frame using cable management sleeves and zip ties.

      He is using the battery temporary, he is hardwiring to the battery later

    hello Is it possible to wire it directly on super73 with yellow connector ?

      I don’t see it being a problem. Instead of using a DC connector, you could wire it up to a 3 pin connector but then you’d have to splice in the headlight or taillight.
