Thank you for sharing this info. I paid $16.33 for two sets. I wanted something for the front and another set for the rear (behind a passenger or whatever is riding in the rear). I will follow your instructions and synch them together.
@@Funcentric I got two sets. Got the first one up and running, but when I go through your steps to pair the second set of signals with the first remote, it does not work. Their are no further directions with the product, not any troubleshooting section. After about an hour, I lucked up and they would each turn on with the other remote, left and right, BUT although they will turn ON with the new remote, they will not turn OFF with it. Kind of pointless. I don't know how to fix this, and there is nowhere to turn. I really wanted to have a pair on the front of my scooter too. Guess I'm SOL. :(
@@onedominant message aliexpress and tell them they won’t pair. Don’t confuse them about two sets. They’ll issue you a refund and you can order another. I’ve ordered about 5 sets without issue so I’m confident they work. I pair them back and forth all the time because after I charge, I forget which pair is for which bike and which side so I go through the process and it always works.
Wow, didn't even know about these until I found them on AliExpress 2 sets for $15. But I'm really happy you posted how to pair a second set to a single remote, since the instructions were sparse.
I got mine from Temu. Strapped them on my helmet and they work great. The distance kind of sucks though so IDK how people put it so far on the rear of their bike. IDK if the range of the signal depends on the charge or if the range is better depending if you get it on amazon, aliexpress, or temu
The range should all be the same. Amazon resellers just source it from aliexpress. They don’t even bother to change the photos. Aliexpress by the way is way better than Temu. More products, prices are better, and sellers compete for your business with pricing and customer service to get high ratings. Meanwhile, Temu is just one seller - Temu. Aliexpress platform is also much better..
@@Nasty00B Thanks! Yeah I think you’ll like em. The beeping sound isn’t as annoying as people think. Much less loud on the street than in my echoing garage.
I just received 2 pairs from Aliexpress. Look good, but I couldn't find a charging port on the remote. So I assume there must be a button cell inside. I wonder how long that will last? For those of you who don't like the beeping, there may be a tiny speaker inside the remote. Cut the wires to that and no more sound. But please, know what you're doing before you try. I like the sound idea and have no intention of trying to disable mine. 😃
Cool. Thanks die sharing the speaker info. I assume there’s a button battery in there too. Not rechargeable. Mine has lasted a couple months so far of almost daily riding. You also have a backup remote for when the first one dies.
The remote does not have a speaker--each turn signal is beeping. Some of the sellers have a rechargeable remote, some have a button-battery remote. I have bought both types, and though the signals seem exactly the same, I have not been able to unpair and re-pair a signal on the remote type that they've not been shipped with. All the signals also have some kind of insane parasitic battery drain after being paired--the red square in the center flashes for an instant every five seconds after they are paired, but that's not enough to drain the signals completely within a few days even if they sit there unused.
@@stevopusser9093 If the turn signals are blinking, it likely means that it's in standby mode. You have to press the button on each to turn it off completely. Same with the remote. @@Motorvapor66You would think, but it's a safety thing. For other people to hear you and to remind you that it's on. I'd argue that it's more necessary for a bike than a car.
Just ordered 1 set. That's all that AliExpress would allow. With Shipping $6.58. Even if they are crap I'm not out too much $$. Looks like Amazon has the exact same thing for much more. I hope they are as good as the video makes them look.
Yeah, they're good. I have 3 sets. Yes, Aliexpress is the source for Amazon resellers. Markup generally is 30-50% but for some stuff as you see, they can be 300-500%. So if you're willing to wait a week or two and are okay with no returns (but refunds if it's damaged or the wrong color or doesn't fit), then definitely go with Aliexpress. Aliexpress doesn't get the coverage b/c Amazon resellers want to keep it a secret. Also b/c Aliexpress doesn't pay youtubers so there's less reason for RUclipsrs to be promoting it. No commission.
Just got my Xpedition a couple of days ago and am really loving your videos. Thanks so much for making and sharing them. I snagged the turn signals for just over $4 on AE. Quick question. @@dianediaz1048 These aren’t an urgent product to have. Still an accessory. If you’ré barely scraping by, I recommend you keep your money and skip this.
It seems to me that increased safety like this would be priceless. Arm signals are difficult to do and pointless in the dark or poor light situations. I have found on my motorcycle that cars really do appreciate being able to see what your intentions are. I think for the money something that cost 10 times more would be worth it for ones safety.
@@paul5683 each to their own though. I obviously prefer turn signals particularly in an ebike but I can also appreciate that not everyone would. It also depends on where you live. Cyclists here won’t even stop at stop signs and sometimes not even a red light. I saw a mom just yesterday plow through a red light intentionally on her cargo bike with her kid in the back. Terrible. Unfortunately running stop signs on bikes in San Francisco is the norm. I refuse to do it but I’m in the minority, 5% probably. Bikes still are used more for recreating in the USA and not so much for transportation like a motorcycle, meaning riding at night is much more of a rarity in a bicycle than a motorcycle. I don’t think visibility in a bicycle should be required. Like a helmet or even a seatbelt. If you want to be dumb enough to forgo it, that’s your business. I for one will always where a seat belt and always wear a helmet.
@@paulwalker3563 correct about the turn signals not really being that functional at night. This is for day to dusk. As for riding at all at night, there are a lot of variables. I wouldn’t say it’s fair to describe it as dumb without knowing each person’s context.
Whaaaat?!!! I just bought from Amazon and was delivered today. It cost me $59.99 for the complete set: 1-pair for the front turn signal and 1pair for the rear turn signal. Included in the box were: 2 pairs Turn signals, remote control for the turn signals;]4-charge cables, O-rings, seat brackets, small brackets, and friction stickers. There's no remote for the bike horn. So, I guess, it's not included? 🤔
Yeah Amazon sellers source from AliExpress and then resell on Amazon for usually a 30-50% markup but in this case for this product it’s hundreds of percent. That’s why you don’t hear about aliexpresss which has been around for maybe a decade. Meanwhile everyone is all head over heels about junk sites like Temu or Banggood. No one talks about it because it doesn’t help there bottom line to do so. Temu is 100% marketing bull. They don’t sell as many products as AliExpress and AliExpress has the advantage of competition between sellers. I should make a video on this topic. Banggood has a different business model. They pay commission to RUclipsrs. That’s why there’s Banggood links everywhere even though aliexpress has a better selection and is cheaper. The little horn I have does not have a remote, the button is on top so it has to be placed within a good reachable distance.

Nope, seems annoying at first but a lot of that is because it’s in the garage. I wanted to mute it to but after using it, I’m glad there’s a sound. Reminder it’s on and helps pedestrians know you’ré around.
I've had some of these and they're great but there's a huge design flaw. The charging port on the controller is blocked by the little bracket that holds it to the bike so it's impossible to charge unless you unscrew the back
Cool turn signals. Is there a way to secure each of the turn signals so they can not be easily stolen while the ebike is locked outside? ? That is the most problem of all these nice accesories none of them offer a way to lock them or at least to have a metal clip with a bolt to tight them down.
No, it's a risk I take. The inconvenience of it isn't worth it to me. At first, I was worried too but the price of these themselves is like insurance. Too cheap to worry about them getting stolen. Usually people who steal stuff aren't really bike owners. They want stuff to resell. Turn signals don't really have a known resale value worth stealing. @@lhrelax3068 oh yes, definitely. Otherwise I wouldn’t use it because I don’t really ride at night. Just got mine from Ali Express (paid about $10 each for two sets) and tried them tonight, they are great! Really appreciate the video and the link. One question: Is there any way to turn off the remote? It blinks the last button pressed about every 3 seconds, I can only guess that this will drain the remote tater quickly? But there's nothing in the instructions about turning it off and I tried a bunch of different button presses to no avail. If you can tell me a way to turn it off I would very much appreciate it. Thanks!
Yes! There is a way. The blinking remote tells you it is on stand by mode. You have to press the circle button until the blue light stops blinking. Depending on what mode you are in, you may have to press it multiple times. Yes, when still blinking, it is in standby mode and indeed drains battery.
Hey thanks for responding so quickly. I have the second set on and it will respond and now both lefts blink but the second set won’t turn off or do anything else but beep. I have to physically push the button to turn it off, which defeats the purpose. Little frustrating, but if you can offer any other insight, it would be appreciated! Thanks
I do not, I generally carry groceries inside the front basket in the paper bag and/or I carry a backpack. If you want a pannier, there's ones that double as a backpack so you can easily take it into a store after you park your bike outside. Waterproof too. I've seen them on amazon for about $40-50.
Im looking for some advice on these lights ive got two sets for front and rear but i cant pair them to one remote even after watching this excellent video . Two of the lights out of each box flash red next to power button. So can any one help me with this issue !
If it's brand new and it's flashing red slowly, that means it's in sleep mode. Press the orange button briefly until it completely turns on or off. Then try again. If it blinks red faster, that means it's on standby mode. Toggle the remote button until the lights blink orange so it's easier to see.

If you follow those rules, they should last awhile.
IMO all of these turnkey lighting solutions have the same fatal flaw, lots of separate rechargeable batteries. Best thing I ever did on my eBike was add a switched 12v sub-system running off the 60v battery that powers everything except the motor.
Oh yeah, of course. Ideally. If the controller had that option, i would've wanted that too but not going to swap out a bunch of components for turn signals. At around 3:45 you have a close up of the rear. What is the thick thing it's attached to? I have the lights but nothing that looks like that. Looks very clean. Thanks.
no, the only time I repair them is if I charge my 2 pairs and accidentally swap the wrong ones to the wrong bike and am too lazy to swap 'em back. Once paired, it stays paired unless you repair it to another remote.
Hmmm, must be something wrong because I bought 5 pairs and they all pair to any single remote I program it to. I’d recommend trying again. I have this setup on two different bikes. When I charge them, I sometimes forget which bike the turn signals came from and so I just reprogram it and it works without issue every time. @@paul5683 I would have to disagree. This would increase the prices of bicycles by a long stretch. It would also blur the lines of what a bicycle is. As it is now already, some laws require that at certain speeds, the vehicle is considered a moped and therefore must have turn signals, be registered and have insurance. With that, I do agree. The new ebike laws being proposed for riders to require a drivers license is actually a good idea. Too many teens out there riding at 20+ mph without caution which has and continues to lead to injury and death. Turn signals won’t avoid any of that. The problem is much bigger than a feature being absent on a PEV.
Can we turn off that loud beeping? I know its important to have for auditory safety but i just can't stand that sound and would actually stop me from using it if i had to listen to that everytime i used it
Bad idea in a way: The whole of the noise is to remind the rider to turn them off after the turn is completed, just like we do in our cars!! Imagine how many more accidents would occur with cars if people always forgot to turn off there car turn signals? it's the same logic with bike turn signals if you forget they're on because you disable the noise, and your heading straight when a car behind you thought you were turning, it could be a disaster for you on the Ebike, (think about it, your in the bike lane or at a intersection and an opportunity is there for you to turn right, and a car on your left assumes from the 4 way stop or intersection your going to take a right turn because that's what both of your turn signals say your going to do, but instead you don't turn and go straight ahead and the car on your left also begins to to turn right figuring your not not going to be in the way, but you are and you get hit, and guess what , your at fault!

Oh, and don't get me started on how controllers already sense when you apply vreaks, so "could" output a break light signal, but you if you want that you have to instead intercept the signals from the break levers (which adds another thing to the wiring that can scrrw up and cause the bike to stop.working. Sorry about the rant, but kind of looking for an upgrade, and that, to me, means finding a freaking ebike with these things already on it, if possible. Sigh...
Yeah I totally understand. I wish they were better integrated too. Charging is indeed one more step. I think Aventon makes some integrated brake lights built into the seat stay. Their cargo bike has integrated turn signals too. I love the rip racer so just did what I had to with the stuff that’s available. The rubber securing the lights like a rubber band will snap eventually. So not the best solution. But for the price, I can’t complain.
@@Funcentric yeah, the one I got doesn't imho have enough separation between the lights, kind of sits a but under the bike rack, which is jeririgged on itself, and used some silly rubber thing to attach it - which I tried several alternatives to before just zip tying the flipping thing. Whole thing is a mess, including the new battery, for the replacement controller (since the original motor, and throttle where both incompatible with the replacement motor and there was no way to upgrade the in frame battery). I am still not sure if I will bother to add mounts, before replacing the bike, or just leave the new battery literally gorilla taped to the center frame, where it partly overlaps the folding part *and* sits so high its hard for me, at over 6' to even get on and off the thing. There was no other place to mount one... Some of the design decisions on the frame for it are just, "Why?!" lol But, if/when I do get a new one it would be real nice to be sure I can install stuff on it without the controls being backwards (apparently the original twist style throttle is "on" by default as far as the new controller interprets it, and decreases as you twist it. That was a huge surprise when it was thankfully upside down and I first switch on the new battery....), trying to use the old harness gave error codes with the new controller, and... despite the thing seeming to know that holding the mode button should turn on the light, the existing kit gave no means to connect it to the front light - but did have an "always on" connection, when the controller is turned on, which you could plug said light into instead (but ignores the control panel buttons). Forget integration, just bloody standardization would be helpful. lol

I bought a power-box AAA battery pack with a usb connector... then bought a 4 in 1 Pd to Usb cable... everything hooks up to the power-box... the pd-usb cable comes at 39 inch lengths... going to mount it in the middle of my bike and keep them all hooked up... I'll only have to take the Controller off to recharge. These lights are very small and they do power off fast (tired of constantly taking them off)... so I'm going to try the above methodology and see how long a 3 Triple A battery pack will do. Hoping I don't have to recharge or replace the batteries for many months (like a converter for a TV). The cost was $15.00 Cda (Us $11.00) from Aliexpress.
@@Funcentric I have a retro-moped style ebike so I have the underneath... would be harder-more cumbersome with a small seat type. Just going to use plastic dollar-store 'ties' to secure them and keep the extra cords tied off under the seat. Giving this a try for convenience! Have gone out many times in the evening to find my blinkers aren't powered-up or power-off as I'm riding. With the method I'm describing I'll just need to replace the batteries if they power off as I'm out riding. Will just remember to keep some batteries in my bag. Remembering to constantly take them off and recharge them is a hassle... hoping this battery method will only require a few charge-ups per year (versus, constantly taking them off). Thanks for the comment!
@@Funcentric I wasn't aware I could sync the lights up to one controller... so the idea has come from that! I've had to replace some lights because I've lost them in wipe-outs, etc... have learned to put them in more secure places on my ebikes (where they won't get knocked around).

Deal of the century, just ordered!!! The best part is being able to pair two sets in a single remote!!!
Yes! I'm so happy that is possible!

(a) riding a bicycle at night is dumb (b) a car cannot tell which side of your bikes lights are going bananas flashing and blinking.

Hopefully fellow bike owners aren't going to be stealing each other's stuff. But of course, you never know.

Yes, if you turn it off with the remote, that’s just putting it on standby. The red light will flash less frequently. You can only turn off the turn signal by pressing the orange button.
How long can this last on a ride ? And are these reliable? I’ve had something similar before. And they only last about 2 months.. they couldn’t take a charge. It was completely dead.
Mine lasts at least 2 hours. I haven’t ridden longer than that at once. I’ve had it for several months. Since they running on Lipo batteries, you’ll need to maintain them as such, meaning:
Don’t ever let it get empty.
Store at roughly 70% charged.
Don’t store it fully charged.
If you follow those rules, they should last awhile.
How long would the battery last?
At least a few hours. I ride at night fully charged for about 2 hours.
By contrast, I purchased an aftermarket headlight for the Xpedition you see here and it came with bare wires. I added a connector and just plugged it into the stock connector that was coming from the OEM controller. Works like stock. I love it.
How do u pair all the lights to one remote???
@@jordanmitchell9742 what part of the explanation and demonstration did you not understand from the video? I felt like I went through it in quite a bit of detail.
Mine wouldn't pair either when I took them out of the box, I put them all on charge for about 2 hours, the units go green or blue , followed the video again and they paired perfectly.
Hi, I got 4 all aliexpress, but can't seem to sync the 4 together. Do I nee to buy the 4packs together?
No, you just synch them using the method I described. Try it again one by one.
Still not working for me. Again I got the second pair to come on but they won’t shut off
@@Funcentric I try, dont think it's working on some. They saying get the 4 packs to do all 4.

I find the U shape rather than an arrow to be confusing....there may only be an instant to take this in,
Agreed. Less for full night without light but during times where you can see which part of the bike the blinker is on.
You rushed through the instruction's on ho to get them to work together simultaneously with a dedicated front and back rear set,
but I kind of got most of that, but since you had them set up since July, have you had any issues ? (do they work as good as featured in the video?)
P.S. They're only 3.00 for a pair right now, (is that because they're not going to last long? )
To sync them, press the directional button on the remote, then hold down the button on the turn signal until it flashes and beeps.
These exact turn signals are being resold on Amazon for $27-35 for one pair right now. So you can decide if they’re worth it. They totally work as shown in the video. AliExpress doesn’t sponsor anyone. I only put the link here because I kept getting asked so many times. You can search it yourself and buy from any seller. Or get it from Amazon if you really want to lay $50+ for two pairs.
New people are all excited about Temu which is pricier and has way more marketing. The rest of us have been using AliExpress for close to a decade. Legit.
At around 3:45 you have a close up of the rear. What is the thick thing it's attached to? I have the lights but nothing that looks like that. Looks very clean.
Thanks.
That’s just the seat for my cargo bike. For the front where it’s attached to a basket, I had to maneuver the bracket to get a tight fit.
Do you have to pair them every time?
no, the only time I repair them is if I charge my 2 pairs and accidentally swap the wrong ones to the wrong bike and am too lazy to swap 'em back. Once paired, it stays paired unless you repair it to another remote.
@@Funcentric perfect! Thank you!!

yes just remove the speaker
They don't pair that way and now I'm stuck with two different blinkers.
Yours might be flawed if you’ve gotten

I’ll time stamp it.
I have said that signal lights like this should be mandatory on all bicycles similar to laws that require motorcycles to have signal lights.
The controller/switch turn buttons need to LIGHT UP!
@@ericb.4358 That would be cool but not for the price though.
Can we turn off that loud beeping? I know its important to have for auditory safety but i just can't stand that sound and would actually stop me from using it if i had to listen to that everytime i used it
Nope

@@triaxe-mmb maybe you can take it apart and remove the speaker? Or mute it like people have been doing with apple air tags.
Bad idea in a way: The whole of the noise is to remind the rider to turn them off after the turn is completed, just like we do in our cars!!
Imagine how many more accidents would occur with cars if people always forgot to turn off there car turn signals? it's the same logic with bike turn signals
if you forget they're on because you disable the noise, and your heading straight when a car behind you thought you were turning, it could be a disaster for you on the
Ebike, (think about it, your in the bike lane or at a intersection and an opportunity is there for you to turn right, and a car on your left assumes from the 4 way stop or
intersection your going to take a right turn because that's what both of your turn signals say your going to do, but instead you don't turn and go straight ahead
and the car on your left also begins to to turn right figuring your not not going to be in the way, but you are and you get hit, and guess what , your at fault!

What a economy is!
Congrats! You’ll be surprised how good it is.
Seriously hate the fact that eberything out thete is either specific to the ebike setup you have, or its wireless. I have, multiple times, arrived at wotk to gind that i should have recharged the bloody things the night before, while having a prrfectly good battery already on the bike that I do charge daily, which it could run on, if only the kit was "compst8nle" with the wiring harness and controller I have (hint, the original kit in the bike was not with any of them, and I have jack clue if the new one will work with any either).
Some of the design decisions on the frame for it are just, "Why?!" lol
But, if/when I do get a new one it would be real nice to be sure I can install stuff on it without the controls being backwards (apparently the original twist style throttle is "on" by default as far as the new controller interprets it, and decreases as you twist it.
Forget integration, just bloody standardization would be helpful. lol
My ebike came with turn signals. That beeping sound would be annoying AF. Just call these signals skip.

I've had various versions on my ebikes for almost 4 years... just mount them in safe-zones on your ebike... I've decided to try something...
@@greg12145That sounds like a lot of cable management. What’s wrong with just charging the lights via usb?
@@Funcentric I have a retro-moped style ebike so I have the underneath... would be harder-more cumbersome with a small seat type. Just going to use plastic dollar-store 'ties' to secure them and keep the extra cords tied off under the seat. Giving this a try for convenience!
