Seems like a game right up the alley of anyone interested in immersive sims, basically my type of game, picking this one up next year when i don't have to deal with the holiday rush.
Finally got my hands on the game, it's less immersive simmy than i first thought it would be, but fans of the genre should still check it out, it still has some emergent gameplay, though this isn't like the 'Thief' games or anything, or even Aquires own masterpiece 'Way of the Samurai 4' (not that you should expect a PS2 game to be as good as a PS3 game.)
@@Tony_Cardoza Not sure if this is an oddly put question, bait, comedy, or genuine, but i'll answer as honestly as i can. It basically just comes down to the way you can steal any one item in the game where you have multiple approaches, some of which you as a player can come up with on the spot, (edit: not just restricted to stealing, how you deal with guards, or which objectives you choose to deal with first, along other things also impacts the game.) which adds lots of variety instead of having more rigid gameplay, where you have one approach for one objective. That's basically where the term 'emergent gameplay' comes from, using simplistic gameplay elements to create complex scenarios with creative solutions. Not sure if this is what you were asking, but i hope the answer i provided was helpful to you, or anyone else reading it.
You can definitely see the style and influence of tenchu. Maybe if this one goes on sale, definitely a product of its era that probably would have been dope in ‘06. As always thanks for the vids nerd overlords!
Hope they make another Way of the Samurai game. This game looked interesting at first, but watching any video of it (even official trailer) just ... well it looks pretty crappy for a game today.
I think it's an alright game, it's pretty much a WotS game where you can't kill people, you've still got to manage your time well and make your choices carefully, it's even got multiple endings, it's like playing that missing chapter between WotS 2 and 3.
@@kathrena1213 I know. But soul of the samurai remaster? Ok, if that's the case? let's see sunset riders, metamorphic beast, and the like. These games are all good, but compared to say, castlevania, contra, gradius, and even suikoden, what are the chances? This upcoming week will be slient hill, after that what? Now it's not impossible, we just had getsu fuuma den undying moon, but the chips are stacked against it which sucks because soul of the samurai just bleeds onimusha type action to me.
@@kathrena1213 Also wanted to add, not all ports or remaster are good. slient hill collection was a disaster, and people seem to not care about the quality of the tmnt collection. The difference imo, the developers, m2 did the castlevania, contra, and gradius/arcade collection. The tmnt collection was by someone else and it shows to those that played og hardware.
@@Neobelmont1 dude im just talkin about their ps4 remasters so silent hill is excluded seen alot of people said that konamis recent remasters are really good its onimusha that bleeds soul of the samurai type action to me since its a ps1 game and oni just ripped off alot from that game from ronin and kunoichi protag of 1 to the hub area of 2
I would suggest trying Katana Kami on ps4 or switch or any of the way of the samurai series. If you enjoy those then you will have some idea of what to expect from this game.
Can confirm the core gameplay is time management and optimizing your day. Not what I expected, but fun.
I miss tenchu. They should bring it back.

Seems to draw a lot from Way of the Samurai as well.

So is it worth playing

This game is amazing and if you like it play way of the samurai games and shinobido
The medicine stuff is straight out of dead rising
The concept of repeating the same objective on a timely basis is not exclusive to Dead Rising.
Game definitely hasnt aged well
