Note that Wrap Around Mode in Krita is a visualization tool. It shows how your current canvas would look if it were tiled. However, it does not actually create multiple tiles on your canvas. When you export, only the actual content of your canvas is saved, not the visual tiling effect.
For colour picking outside the canvas while in Wrap around mode. You can use the Ctrl Key colour picker shortcut. Just press and hold the control key and your cursor will turn into a colour picker. click to choose a colour.
Thanks so much for the comment. :-) Yes I forgot about that one :-) Thanks for the reminder. Working across so many programs i forget the shortcuts sometimes :-) Thanks for stopping by my channel i appreciate it. Sarah
Thank you, thank you!! You've got a great presence and this is presented very well! It was hard to hear you, but your teaching style is LEGIT -- thanks a million!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks so much for stopping by. I will be doing lots more tutorials around this topic in coming months. So much to do... so little time :-) I have bought a new microphone in recent months which, as you say, was very necessary :-) :-) :-)
Thank you so much Sarah, that was a lotta useful information.💜💜💜🌼🌼💙 Do you know other websites like toyls tile tester that work for mobile devices? I wasn't able to find a way to upload there .. Thanks again
Glad to hear that! I'm loving playing with patterns, i hope you can learn some skills and create. There are some fantastic resources around the web that are free (and paid) Hopefully i can share them with you all. Thanks for stopping by the channel. Sorry its take 2 days to answer your questions. Ive been on night shifts and a bit tired from work. Thanks again
Hello Sarah, I have watched several of your videos but could not quite find anything about how to convert a regular jpeg image into seamless pattern in Krita. If you could make such tutorial?
Thanks so much Sarah, Great Video, just what I was looking for as I'm learning how to navigate Krita. Just a quick question, when you save your tile, is it only the layers that are set to visible that are saved? Thanks again :)
Hi love. Yes the visual image you see is what is saved. So you can do a design on one layer and have 10 other layers each with a different colour, and switch on and off those backgrounds so you get 10 saves of your design each with a different backgrounds. Only thing to check is you don’t have unnecessary layers marked visible if you don’t need them ( as it can add to the file size) :-) I’ll be doing more videos on this soon. Happy to help. Thanks for watching!
How do i export a photo out of it without having to tile it manually? Like for use not in a software that can tile images? I want to use my tiled image to make bookmarks.
Ive never needed to do that before and have no idea if that is something you can do in Krita without manual imports. When i make a 4 tile repeat for selling on say etsy, i do this in either procreate or inkscape. i export the single tile as a PNG then import manually (Which i know you said you don;t want) the image into a new file that is 4 times as big and because the file is seamless, 4 repeats fit perfectly in the square. I do not know if Krita has a facility to export the image into a "tiling shape". Sorry that is not something i have ever needed to do? I shall have to go and check it out. I would imagine you will need a new file with manual imports and then crop to the size you want? If you find an answer let us know! Thanks for stopping by the channel
@@sarahedgecumbe I was able to figure it out! Turn it into a pattern, and set the fill bucket to use pattern! It fills the canvas, and you can resize the scale of the pattern in the fill settings!
@@KattLover5412 as soon as i replied i was like.... ohhh pattern fill. lol. It was late at work. Glad you figured it out. I have used the feature before but not for ages. Thanks for the reminder to go and refresh up on it. Its such a good one. I used it for leopard print for fabric a while back. Happy creating to you.. im in the studio ACTUAL painting today. :-)
You are an angel!
These are features I wish photoshop had. Good video!
I didn't know kirita could make this! Thank you so much!

Ty sooo much for this! Can we apply a G'MIC filter to the tiles? If so, will they still be seamless after G'Mic?
Wonderful! Can I also make a half-drop repeat with it?
Yes: Cut half the image after.
Can you provide the URL for the tile tester site? I tried Googling for it but couldn't find it.
tile.toyls.com/ here is the site... you just drag the file onto the screen. :-) thanks for watching. Sarah
