I bought this gun 5 days ago and bought two 6 ah batteries. I've been throwing shingles on with it for the past 4 days on full reroof jobs. This gun is awesome. As long as you get the bigger batteries for it you can roll all day with this gun.

My first time doing a roof. Bought this because it is cordless (and I am a dealt fan) and I am loving it. no jams, no nothing. I only work a couple hours a day, and batteries are doing there job perfectly well too
Firstly, I want to comment on the fact that I have NEVER read a DeWalt warranty and user manual. I mainly am a roof repairman, and I LOVE the idea of a tool like this in my tote. I carry up there to do my daily repairs! Will go great with all my other Dewalt 20 and 60-volt tools and batteries. AMAZING design and honestly that gun looks like it worked really good. I'm generally not a video recording kind of person, but if you are really sending us one of those with just the expectation of us using it on our day to days, then count me in! Great job, and keep up the excellent work.

I’ve spent 5 years in the industry and I never want to take the time to set up a compressor for my nail gun on repairs. The issue with hammer and nail on repairs is having to lift up the old shingles directly above the new shingles, which almost always damages the shingles. The nail gun would help me avoid damaging shingles on repairs, save me the time of setting up a compressor, and take out the possibility of accidentally hammering the lifted shingle above the nail. It’d also be nice to knock out my shoulder workout using that thing. I’m working my way through college right now which means I’ve gotten pretty good at taking close observations and explaining them so I’d do a fantastic job reviewing the gun on a lot of factors.
Roofing Insights, I just sent my info over. I can’t tell you how excited I am to try it out and upload the review. Huge thanks to you for the opportunity
Great job Dimitri. That's an awesome thing to do for your audience. I'm a foreman for a roofing contractor in california. My boss, crew, and myself all watch you'r videos and appreciate all your efforts in changing the stigma of our industry. Currently our whole crew shoots dewalt air guns. We've all been waiting for this moment! I would love an opportunity to review this side by side with the air gun. Thanks again.
I bought one 2 weeks ago.. Great for repairs . The loading magazine needs a little work. It likes to pop loose if you lay it down to hard.. But for it being the first series I'm sure the next one will be even better.. Definitely worth the money...
Ideally this gun wouldn’t be the best for a roofing project, maybe a diy home owner shed project. But this gun would be amazing for steep repairs, and any little to big repairs in general. Just hook up a battery and it’s go time. No compressor no generator no bs, timesaver on repairs. I’d love to give this gun a review out here from New York.
This gun would be great for small repairs and installing hip and ridge cap and drip edge. If you used the 60v battery it might last for a smaller roof. Dewalt battery nailers are the real deal. We just framed and sheeted a 2300 sq foot house using the Dewalt battery framer and an air powered Pasload nailer. The Dewalt nailer held it’s own. Can’t wait try out the battery powered roof gun 😉.
My coworker got one he said it has some issues if you done have it perfectly straight it wouldn't drive all the way even after setting the depth gage. I would personally like to use them on repair jobs we get called to but they're out of stock everywhere now.
Dan Miller with Longboat Key Roofing out of Florida here! I’d love to test this out with my repair guys and see how long it’ll last in the Florida heat. Average high for last week was 105 just a FYI.
also with that i would think you could do repairs with old brittle roofs..maybe you would not have to lift shingle very much to nail...do nails cost the same as with the ones used in air nailer? thanks
I own a small roofing business that does re roofs, repairs, vinyl siding, decks, and seamless gutters. Would love to demo one of these to see how well it works. Would work great for me if my crew was on a big job and I had a repair to do, would prevent me from having to drag a compressor. We also do additions or roofs over decks and would work great for that. I would also be interested in seeing if I could dial it down and use it for soffit or vinyl siding. Curious to know if my bigger dewalt batteries would work my efficient with it. I've been waiting and talking about these for a while. We mostly use dewalt and bostich for everything. Hope to hear back from you about doing a demo for you. Love the videos.
Actually for a Dewalt Coiled roofing nailer it’s pretty common that it jams like that so that’s actually really normal in the older versions and the only feedback I would have for Dewalt about the new cordless roofing nailer is that the fan is loud even though it’s necessary to keep it cool. The roofing nailer is also great for siding wood shingles or GAF siding shingles .
Instructions might explain how to easily clear jams. As long as you are doing roof pitches where you don t have to reach up from scaffolding the weight should not be an issue. Might need to work with lighter gun and small battery for the weak roofers who have never lifted weights!
I want to try one of those! I just bought a Metabo (Hitachi) because my Milwaukee gave out on me. This would be great for repairs too. I had to replace a pipe boot and it took me 30 min to set up and 5 min to replace the boot 😂 I'd love to review one for ya if you still have one!
I do a high volume of roof repairs and have a full Dewalt cordless tools for the repairs. I have the flexvolt grinder, circular saw, sawzall. I would like to try to this gun out. We mainly do all hand nailing for repairs. We hate packing a compressor.
I'm a roofer in Maine would like to put this roofing gun through a rigorous test in the extreme winter temperatures. Im probably commenting way too late. But its worth a shot.
I will commit to reviewing the gun!!!! I'm just like you, the keyboard roofer but the bossman Dennis will get in front of the camera and we'll give you an awesome review.
Beautiful rainy Portland, Oregon. It’s a buddy and I. Small but definitely up and coming. Dales Roofing LLC(not to be confused with the dales Roofing in MI) Service area is Lower Washington but working on getting Oregon license as well. I’ve been actively working on all our digital footprint and I’m obsessed with it! Thanks to this awesome guy Dmitry 🤪 haha.
I just began a roofing business about a week ago. I do full tear offs, installs and repairs as well. This thing looks amazing for repairs. I'd love to do a review.

Im a handyman/ house flipper and will be replacing my roof on my house and a detached garage by the end of the month. Its a two story house (3300sq ft) and not looking forward to fighting the hose and moving the compressor around the house. Im located in Wisconsin. I'm a Milwaukee fanboy but they don't have a roofing nailer yet. Would love to give this a try. Im new to the channel but learning a lot.

Yeah send us one of those! We will review it on our channel!! I actually have used the Dewalt framing gun for a couple years now. It is the same tool but for framing nails.
I’d like to get this in my senior repair tech’s hands. We’ll record reviews in both English and Spanish. You’ll more than double your audience in the south if you added a Spanish channel!
This gun probably wouldn't cut it for me considering when my crew and I run a 6 nail pattern, don't see this gun pulling off the double tap rhythm. It does seem like the gun jams allot, usually it's the quality of the nails, but does cause for concern. I really don't see this beating hammer and nail especially for small jobs, but I'm willing to take it to the test. Other concerns are service ability, the main reason why I own so many bostich's is because I can tear it apart rebuild it in a pinch. I feel this gun won't be the same. Other concerns are will this gun overheat, will it nail consistently, how does this handle siding & soffit (which would be my best choice for this gun). All of which I'd like to try out, but I'm not about to invest another $400 into a tool that turns out to be a dud (not even available here in Nebraska). Would I try this out to price the public how this tool handles, push it to the limits, share my experience, and even make recommendations for DeWalt. Cause tools are life in my world, and that's why I'm a fan of Milwaukee and DeWalt they listen to their customers, they keep pushing the bar, they don't settle with good enough.
We have 2 in house crews, one that does full roofs and one that does repairs. Repair crew always complained to me about taking compressor for a 10 minute job. I have even tried getting c02 tanks hooking up them to roofing guns, but the change in temp messenger it up. For sure a great start in the cordless idea. Testing the gun would be great.
I like how demetri is punching with the gun lol, make sure to take out the battery when you fixing the jam. Happy to review the gun, I got the whole dewalt XR lineup
This is so sweet! I'm, a pretty new contractor and do a lot of sub work on roofs this soo much more convenient than hauling around pneumatic guns. Would save tons on set up and tear down time not to mention not having to fuss with an air hose at your feet while you're up on the roof.
Wow i was so surprise to see this channel .i was looking for a coil roofing .because i started working for a boat marina and dont want to be dragging the whole compressor combo all around the docks
We have two repair crews, that do large to small repairs all day long. Would love the opportunity to test the roofing gun in the field and video it’s performance. I think it’d be a great tool for smaller sized repairs.
Cool gun. I was asking about it all over last spring and Dewalt reps keep saying - wait till summer of 2020. Now it's here ;) That small battery is definitely not enough, you will have to go with regular size but at least 4 A.H. battery to make it work. Review - no problem but you will have to put up with another Russian speaking foreigner accent :) I'm a DEWALT guy and I'm all about cordless tools, have tons of DEWALT cordless tools and all about it. I’d love to get a chance to review that nail gun, my boss just got one but I haven’t gotten to use it yet. I’m 23 I’ve been laboring since I was 16. I just started shingling afew months ago. We do a lot of big roofs, I’d be able to really put it work and make a good video (filmed with a GoPro 7 Black) an talk about the pros and cons. even get video of it being used on the roof. Plus we use over dewalt tools so I can test of long the different batteries will last.
I am a diy real estate investor and do as much of my own work as possible. I have a new 4plex apartment building that needs 2000sq ft of shingle. I was planning on buying this tool to see how. It performs!
Not that we couldn't use another one 😉, but I've already been rocking one for myself on repairs. I have a few to do Monday and Tuesday and will try to grab some footage for you.
Demitri, maybe I'm late to the game, but if you still have one, I would love to try it for my repairs. I'm looking into buying one right now, and that's why I'm watching your video. Let me know.
If ever Australian have a chance to get in the pick i would love to show off . The gun isnt available in Australia . We use them for bracing and all the grips we use . Would be glad to review it for the team Cheers :)
I do roofing as a filler job when I don’t have decks to build or work is slow. I have now gone completely cordless on the Milwaukee platform, if I could keep up and do a smaller roof on 10 battery’s per say I would be sold
il try one out and let you knwo what i think i am a owner operator of a smaller roofing company. and am on a roof every day. but fyi thats not a fan you hear it is a flywheel. and that is what drives the nail
Hi I am from India and request some information about Battery Operated Coil Nailers (not Roofing Nailers) and if they can be used in regular Pallet Making work. There are some critical areas where compressed air supply is just not possible and I need to use a battery tool. Can these tools be used for long haul works - making about 500 pallets a shift, coils sizes are 3-1/2" x 0.120" screw shank...Your feedback is appreciated. Thanks, Siva.
I'm from KC and am just starting my own company. I've got a couple full roof jobs and some ridge repair jobs lined up. I currently use Ridgid brand nail guns and have no complaints so far. I'd like to try out and review one of those dewalts for you if possible!! I'll see you at the Kansas City class on Wednesday!
I'm a roofer i do a lot of metal roofing, but when I do get the shingle job having a cordless gun to use sounds great in theory. I'd be happy to make a video for the chance at a free gun
I already have too many batteries. 12&18V Milwaukee, 18V Festool, 12,18&40V Makita, and 18V Ryobi. I am fighting against buying any more battery platform. Getting tougher.
I am more of a Milwaukee guy, but will buy one of this for the utility of it. Those who say to just hand nail things, well maybe I can’t be as fast as you are. Why would you spend half hour for 10 cap instead of 2 minutes lol.
Dmitry, why do you slam the gun like you're swinging a hammer, probably the reason it keeps jamming? Let the gun do the work. A fun competition idea for salesman, "who ever is in last place in sales for the week has pull all the nails out".
This looks like a great idea for repair work. Id be glad to review it for you. We run 2-3 repair crews at all times doing 10-20 repairs a week. Many times those repairs are 4,5,6 bundles of so. Right at that point where you dont want to set a compressor up but its faster than hand nailing. Seeing it last for 5 bundles will cover most repairs. Im interested to see how long batteries last when its hot or cold out. Thanks for all the helpful videos.
I am on a roofing crew I shingle and run tear off , one of these guns would be absolutely amazing at work when I am doing repairs and stuff that does not have easy compressor access . I have been in the trade for about three years name is Brandon
Grampas's Roofing out of Blue Springs, Mo. Would love to send video review. Got a 12sq roof I will try it on. Plenty of repairs to video. Love what you guys are doing
We do a lot of very steep 12/12 - 16/12+. I think this gun would come in handy not getting the air hose caught on toe-boards and roofing irons. I would love to review the gun on our new construction install coming up! If not, I still appreciate the sneak preview on the gun!
For repairs I think I’d use the smaller battery it came with. We’d test it out with one of our nailers with the larger battery and see how exhausted his arm is after using it til the battery dies. Would be happy to post a video review and allow you to share it.
I use the 3amp/ hr battery from my circular saw with it. Its already heavy, but the few more ounces seems to balance it better. Could all be in my head though
Went wrong color for nail guns but Dewalt is first to market with these nail guns. Like most nail guns. Their flywheel driving system is not on the same par as gas resuscitation like Hitachi or Milwaukee. It will be years before Milwaukee comes out with their nailer.
I have been wanting to purchase one of these guns, I have used a roofing nailer for years for underlayment I like to use ring shanks. I also have a deck roof to build soon. I am also waiting for Dewalt to come out with a siding nailer!!!
My husband enjoyes dewalt tools and has been wanting to try this gun.He currently owns a Hitachi gun that all worn out he constantly has to change parts.hoping I win this give away 😊it would really come In handy because he just recently opened his roofing company 🤞🏼😅
Not sure if you’re sending up to Canada, but I’d give it a go on a roof, I’m in Winnipeg. As everyone else is saying, I’m pretty sure the battery nailer is most useful on repairs.
Great video! I like how you didn't just skip over the part of the gun failing. Not sure if you sent all the nail guns out or not, but I'd love to do a review on one! I'd probably fall into the category of one of those comments you read in the video... A handyman / the guy and his buddy doing a roof / making repairs! Haha All my other tools are in the DeWalt ecosystem, so this would be perfect to test all my other batteries with too!
These guys talking about doing small repairs and it being a drag to get the gun and compressor out. Smh; Ever heard of hand-nailing? That's all we do is hand-nail entire roofs, but i would be glad and honored to review the gun in the hot desert heat of Southern New Mexico. 106 degrees here yesterday.
When I was active in the business I too hand nailed repairs because dragging out a hose and running a compressor wasn't worth it. But I'd carry that up the ladder if it works.
I own a small roofing company. I'd probably use this gun for small repairs or sheds. Also would use if we ran short on ridge on a Saturday and do not want to send the crew back out on Monday. Or go and pick up final check and homeowner hits us with a surprise that we need to fix before we collect. I'd be more than happy to review this product as I have a long line of Dewalt products.
Henry with a mustache , I’d say that’s what it would be best used for. It may also be used for training a new guy , possibly finishing a full size job and you need 1 more nailer . But to complete a 20 sq job probably best to use a air compressor
Hey Mr. Dmitry how are you? I'm trying to get one for my company and I can't find any.... can you send me a link or any help to get one ? Thanks in advance!
ths would be great for steep pitches, lets say laying the noising, starters and first stair on a 12/12 wile on your roof jacked 2by6, after that you can just deal with the hose.
I own my own roofing company in the poconos pa. I would be glad to review the tool for you .. I am a Milwaukee guy myself and I know they have a patient out for one and I just bought their framing nailer. But if you would like an honest review and videos I would really like to try it out.

Great tool for trades already invested in dewalt with multiple batteries could easily swap out batteries without much downtime.
just got and used it today. shoots really well. not a single jam so far
Dan Miller with Longboat Key Roofing out of Florida here! I’d love to test this out with my repair guys and see how long it’ll last in the Florida heat. Average high for last week was 105 just a FYI.
also with that i would think you could do repairs with old brittle roofs..maybe you would not have to lift shingle very much to nail...do nails cost the same as with the ones used in air nailer? thanks
I will gladly do a video review for you! We have about 15 repairs to do right now. Thank you for the opportunity Dmitry!
DeWalt roofing guns are a joke. Do not get one
@@iceman112102 sound like a but hurt Milwaukee user
@@rumchaser1able Milwaukee is a shitty product.
@@iceman112102 been working great for shed building.. What problems did you have?
I had to replace a pipe boot and it took me 30 min to set up and 5 min to replace the boot 😂
I'd love to review one for ya if you still have one!
Hey I’m a student that does roof repair to help pay for school. I’ve been waiting for one of these to come back out. Would love the opportunity!
What city are you from? What’s the name of your company?
Beautiful rainy Portland, Oregon. It’s a buddy and I. Small but definitely up and coming. Dales Roofing LLC(not to be confused with the dales Roofing in MI) Service area is Lower Washington but working on getting Oregon license as well.
I’ve been actively working on all our digital footprint and I’m obsessed with it! Thanks to this awesome guy Dmitry 🤪 haha.
I’ll be honest and let you know we don’t have anything posted yet but I’m working on the content and can’t wait to put it out.

I just began a roofing business about a week ago. I do full tear offs, installs and repairs as well. This thing looks amazing for repairs. I'd love to do a review.

25 year old Roofing business owner in competitive south Fl. 3 Crews of great men. Been watching Roofing insights for a long time gaining knowledge. Would love to review this product
Im new to the channel but learning a lot.
what city are you from? What roofing shingles are you gonna install?
@@RoofingInsights3.0 West Bend. Just north of Milwaukee. Atlas Pinnacle® Pristine Black. Was a toss up between Owens Corning and Atlas. And then I just watched the newest rating video you had made. Guess I couldn't go wrong either way.
Let's Goooooo
Happy to review one!

Is it too late to get a nail gun, I'm in Australia, work in renovation,
I like how demetri is punching with the gun lol, make sure to take out the battery when you fixing the jam.
I was looking at this for small repairs, I'd like to review one if possible. It looks like a sweet nailgun.
Now it's here ;)
That small battery is definitely not enough, you will have to go with regular size but at least 4 A.H. battery to make it work.
Review - no problem but you will have to put up with another Russian speaking foreigner accent :)
I'm a DEWALT guy and I'm all about cordless tools, have tons of DEWALT cordless tools and all about it.

I would like to use this product. I do about 900 squar a year on roofs. I could give u honest review. Thanks.
Do it and tell us how you like it!
Funny you say not to give you crap just as I’m thinking about it.. love what you are doing. Love the videos bro..
Not that we couldn't use another one 😉, but I've already been rocking one for myself on repairs. I have a few to do Monday and Tuesday and will try to grab some footage for you.
I've been trying to buy a dewalt coil nailer for 2 weeks all sold out can't wait to try one!
Demitri, maybe I'm late to the game, but if you still have one, I would love to try it for my repairs. I'm looking into buying one right now, and that's why I'm watching your video. Let me know.
I never read those guides! until i ever need it. haha. I do keep those warranty sheets!!!
You should!
It looks very useful since you would not use a compressor or hoses. I would like to have one to test it and give you a better opinion.
Former roofer --> turned accountant --> back to roofing. Time is money and this could save my company both.
Interesting story, we want to hear it!!!
@@RoofingInsights3.0 love your videos, would be happy to talk any time.
If ever Australian have a chance to get in the pick i would love to show off . The gun isnt available in Australia .
We use them for bracing and all the grips we use .
Would be glad to review it for the team
Cheers :)
For a home owner who needs to roof and side his home, is the cordless good enough? Or should I buy a compressor and get the pneumatic version DW45RN?
Working on my grandfathers roof and this tool looks helpful. Wish I had funds to purchase one.
I bet those Dewalt guns work awesome!
It's great for cold days and full batteries shoots 500 nails 😌 ☺️
All I do is mostly smaller repairs. I would love to try it out! Nothing worst than dragging the compressor out!
What city are you in?
Just north of Atlanta Ga,
Dmitry, why do you slam the gun like you're swinging a hammer, probably the reason it keeps jamming?
Been thinking of picking one of these up for masonry, wondering if it would be a good fit. I would review that for you with results.
I like to build weird structures out of recycled wood. Nail gun like that would save me a lot of time!
I’m still hand nailing repairs. I’m thinking about buying this gun today.
Awesome idea on giving the guns out and having feedback, too bad I am not roofing anytime soon it would be awesome to review it
Grampas's Roofing out of Blue Springs, Mo. Would love to send video review. Got a 12sq roof I will try it on. Plenty of repairs to video. Love what you guys are doing
I've never used this gun but i'd love the opportunity to review this gun!~!!!
You know yours truly would do a great review on it. Throw one my way.
Hi, mate, does this coil nailer use regular coil nails like paslode coil nails? Thanks.
home owner looking to save on good tools.we like to try this out.thank you,Bill
We do a lot of very steep 12/12 - 16/12+. I think this gun would come in handy not getting the air hose caught on toe-boards and roofing irons. I would love to review the gun on our new construction install coming up! If not, I still appreciate the sneak preview on the gun!
I would review it happily!! I do shingle roofs 6 days a week and am curios to see how it will work
Text me your address 612-558-4881, Dmitry
For repairs I think I’d use the smaller battery it came with. We’d test it out with one of our nailers with the larger battery and see how exhausted his arm is after using it til the battery dies. Would be happy to post a video review and allow you to share it.
I use the 3amp/ hr battery from my circular saw with it. Its already heavy, but the few more ounces seems to balance it better. Could all be in my head though
looks like a game changer for repairs. we'd love to test it out in SC. OC platinum and wanna give the durations a try
I'm just curious I work for a hardware store and these are being returned at a alarming rate do you have problems with any of yours
Just a diyer who loves building. Would love to try this out and give an honest opinion about it!
My husband enjoyes dewalt tools and has been wanting to try this gun.He currently owns a
Hitachi gun that all worn out he constantly has to change parts.hoping I win this give away 😊it would really come In handy because he just recently opened his roofing company 🤞🏼😅
Not sure if you’re sending up to Canada, but I’d give it a go on a roof, I’m in Winnipeg. As everyone else is saying, I’m pretty sure the battery nailer is most useful on repairs.
It should be a 60v unit! These would be nice for repair companies. Full day work I don’t think so.
I just bought 6 stinger cap nailers for the guys--these definitely look great for repairs. Would love to give one a try : ]
we love stinger roofing nailers
@@RoofingInsights3.0 app.companycam.com/galleries/RdU22K7s my guys do now too haha

Really like seeing new tools focused on practicality. But can it stand up to the traditional pneumatic roofing nailers? Would love to compare!
That’s hot!!! I agree on hand nailing on repairs but was hoping it can last longer
My guys hand nail all the repairs, much faster.
No humidity though right? I was just in Roswell/Fort Sumner/Tucumcari
@@johnpierce4778 Correct. Im down in Las Cruces
Michelle Gonzales why do you think it’s only good for repairs or small jobs?
Henry with a mustache , I’d say that’s what it would be best used for. It may also be used for training a new guy , possibly finishing a full size job and you need 1 more nailer . But to complete a 20 sq job probably best to use a air compressor
Have you ever used pneumatic nailers? This cordless shoots them just as fast and you don’t have to set up a compressor or have trip hazards,
@@henryk1031 I will have to try.
We are designing rafters so yes would love to use the new Dewalt Coil Roofing cordless nailer to get it done, it would be an honor.

Would love to give it a try down here is South Eastern Georgia! Wonder how it would keep up with the heat.
Do you have any other dewalt tools?
