I think you’re a bit off with one thing: it would be much easier to find where she lived or worked than track down what pub she goes to. He probably followed her from work, or from home, and saw her go to a pub that evening. He wanted to speak with her in hopes of gleaning something that he might not get just going through her house.

Yeah, in S06E05 when Gus say "chicken curls" he remember about his visit to Madrigal (Germany) to the meetings of the fast food brands and he present that product, so that flashback for gus means "germany --> germans --> madrigal" he was so paranoic about a Lalo's direct attack , he forgot to hide some prints in the Werner issue. But yeah, i think in S06E06 we were see that Gust already know that Lalo is in germany searching proofs, so he can prepare a trap in new mexico.

I also found the moment rather compelling when Lalo realizes Margarethe has come back to the house and his reaction was of someone who really hoped he didn't have to kill her. Margarethe is so far disconnected from "The Game" and was so completely innocent that it's possible that even Lalo didn't want to cause her any harm. That scene was well acted.

I don’t think Lalo spared Werner’s wife’s life because he “cared” about her. When she was walking up the stairs, Lalo finds the sliding ruler and realizes he has what he needs.
Had he not found it, I guarantee he would’ve killed her and stayed there for as long as he needed to find the information he was looking for. It all came down to timing.

I’m guessing it took Lalo two weeks, not only to go to Germany, but to follow Margherete, study her routine and plan this rendez-vous.
I don’t think Lalo ever intended to kill her but it was his last resort in case she found him out.
Also: Lalo’s joints are the only unrealistic thing on this show 😂

I still believe that Gus and Lalo are secretly married during breaking bad. Lalo is in Germany running a subsidiary of los pollos hermanos called "los pollos casados" Lalo changed his last name to fring which is why Fring tells Hector that the Salamanca name ends with him. It hurts Hector even more knowing that not only is Lalo having his cheeks clapped by Gus but that he revoked his last name and adopted the one of his mortal enemy. I think that the stress and lack of control Gus is feeling right now is him coming to terms being in love with Lalo and he doesn't know how to handle it

As a german i really liked the Arcadegame in the pub. It shows the love for soccer and pride of the 1990 Team which won the final in the worldcup. The time, in which this episode is playing (i think around the year 2004) is a dark age of the german soccer team.
The team played bad and the next Worldcup will be in germany in 2006. The detail with the arcadegame about the german soccer team is really a nice one, because it shows the meaning of soccer in this country at this time.

I wasn't expecting him to ho to Germany. Or meet the wife either. I did enjoy the episode quite a lot. I don't think it has to be full of action to be a good one. Which seems to be the case with some viewers, based on discussion on other platforms. I think that giving some depth to the story is very interesting even if not much is happening. It's always nice to know more details about the characters or the story. Especially now since soon it all will end and that's sad.

  • @ludwigmises
    @ludwigmises 2 года назад +16

So I think once Lalo learns from one of the Germans that the project, as they left it, is basically an unfinished basement, he’ll realize it won’t fully incriminate Gus to Eladio. Gus could simply explain it away as a backup storage space for the product should current operations become compromised. So Lalo will find where the laundromat is and search who OWNS it. Once he finds out Madrigal - a real corporation- owns it, and not Gus or a fake shell company owned by Gus, then Lalo will know that Gus has people outside the cartel poised to work with him on his drug business. That would alarm Bolsa and Eladio.

@@84bombsjetpack23 Maybe one of the Germans have some information that we dont know and that maybe can point to madrigal , some contract or legal papers involving Werner (or any worker) with Madrigal (i guess to make the payment more "legal"), so with all that info Lalo could make some conclusions and go back to New Mexico and find the Lab and we have one last Face-off with Gus and Lalo Die.
My point is, whatever Lalo find out about Gus it doesnt gonna be listen by Eladio or Bolsa because the "good" relation in Breaking Bad. I would like to see if Hector Salamanca see Lalo one more time. Because he was angry when Gus told he is the last salamanca (that make me think that Lalo is officially dead and Hector knows or maybe Lalo never comeback and Hector never see he again).
I think Lalo has a lot of fake identities, like he was preparaed for a situation like this, running away from some enemy, going to the north using a fake name.

    • @ludwigmises
      @ludwigmises 2 года назад +1

@@84bombsjetpack23 Lalo knows that Gus likely housed the workers on the site of his chicken facility. (Lalo was spying on the facility with binos when Mike’s team discovered Werner was missing and hectically went after him). The Germans won’t know how to get there, since they were transported at night in a windowless van, but they know how long the ride took; and they know that they had to pass by industrial washing machines once inside. So Lalo can figure out where it is from that. Lalo may wonder how Gus found a team from Germany, and they may mention that they’d worked together before at Madrigal. Then once he learns that the laundry is owned by Madrigal, he’ll have what he needs.

Lalo mentioned Gus and Santiago to Bolsa.
Gus recalled to Schuler that they had had their backs to the wall in Santiago (and Lydia suggested Salamanca be shanked in prison).
So, Schuler and Lydia were already aware of Lalo (Gus told them). Might Lalo know about Schuler too, connected to Gus and the 'Santiago' event?

Werner's funeral takes place in Germany. Werner's body would have been transported home with necessary documentation, including a Death Certificate. The evidence of being shot would be inescapable. Was he cremated prior to transportation and the funeral ?

I admit Lalo's journey was the only thing I got completely wrong as I thought he was going to go after Nacho for proof from how he looked at the shot glasses at the end of season 5 (thankfully, everything else so far I either nailed or got close so my ego on knowing BCS isn't completely bruised). Whenever someone suggested Germany I thought it was completely ridiculous for a number of reasons, but I can accept I was wrong.
I think the primary reason he didn't kill Werner's wife or Little Bear is more because it would've been easier for Gus to be onto him, and I think he learned from how chaotic the travelwire situation was. I'm not sure we've ever seen a genuine soft spot from Lalo, as even the people at his home all did something for him. Regardless, it is comforting that he didn't kill them as not only another tragedy was too soon after Nacho, but from the way things are escalating we know, there are a lot of darker moments to come.
Unrelated, but can you do a video on all the toilets we've seen this season? There's been so many and I suspect it connects back to how things are going down the toilet (so to speak) and I'd like to see other people's thoughts on this.

The workers didn't go to Werner's funeral due to one of two very obvious reasons:
Having all the EXACT same workers that Werner chose for that job, all in the EXACT same place, mourning the man they were all SO ANGRY that their previous employer had killed, is a 100% guarantee that they would have all been talking about it.
They would have ALL been thinking they were in a different country now where Gus can't watch them, the job was over, the boss was already dead and at the very least, one of them (kai) was an extremely disrespectful loudmouth who didn't take the job serious from the very first moment they stepped foot inside the bunker.
There is NO WAY ON EARTH that Gus would let them go to that funeral. Gus' entire plan is contingent on a German company, visits Germany often, has MANY connections there, and most likely had PI's in Germany watching those men, making SURE they either stayed away and stayed quiet, or died.
    Reason number 2:
Gus' had a shuttle ready to take them all back to the airport, but had someone like Tyrus or Victor take them to a spot in the desert and simply shot each and every one of them dead. He knew Mike would never do it, so he hid this from Mike.
He then had his German contacts send letters and flowers and condolences to the funeral, from within Germany, on behalf of them. So that Werner's widow would go on telling people that they were all alive.
Personally, I think it's reason number 2. I don't believe for a second Gus let them all go back to Germany and blab their big mouths about the work they did and how it got their boss murdered. It would be out of character, and furthermore it could get back to someone who works at Madrigal Electromotive's German location.
He just allowed Mike to believe they got back home, that's all.

I am German so when they try to speak german in the Show, I certainly have higher Standards, when it is about authenticity. Back in Season 4, with Werners Crew and Werner himself, the german lines sounded genuine. They also picked up cultural things, like Kai wearing a Hat of the Soccer Team BVB '09. I don't want to be mean, but the german they speak in Season 6 of this Show, is performed with a very bad/poor accent.
As a Fun Fact: Although there is a dubbed german Version of every Episode. The Scenes where theres already dialogue in german, didnt need to get dubbed, because it was in proper German. They didn't need to dub the German Scenes, like Werners last phonecall with Magarete for example. So Season 6 is the only Season, where they had to dub/voice over every scene in which they speak german. Replacing it with better spoken German. Even at the beginning of the german Bar Scene, where you see the kids answering on the Quiz Arcade Maschine, they dubbed it because it became so noticeable for German Audience, that Magarete had a weird accent, which sounded not only a bit off, it sounds staged, more like she has a accent from a balkan states. Although the Actress portraying Ms. Ziegler (Andrea Szucs/Sooch) accordingly to IMDb is fluent in speaking german, did not do that well of a job. The Actress is from Hungary, so that explains the balkan like accent.
I don't understand why they didn't cast a german Actress in first place, for the sake of authenticity . Nobody saw how Magarethe looked, so they were free to choose any german woman/Actress that can speak english. At least she talked english, most of the time. Sentences like 'Werner liebte seine Jungs' or when Magarete tried to educate Lalo in german on her way home, teaching him words like 'Höhlenwohnungen' just came off so pretentious . Even how she introduced her dog: 'Bärchen'. And I am only this strict about this because in Breaking Bad, as up to Season 4 of BCS, the german was very authentic. But now *Spoiler for Episode 6* also the Worker that attacked Lalo with an Axe, 'one of Werners boys', also had a tough time trying to speak proper German.
Is it so hard to get one German from the Construction Crew back, like Kai? I watched the Show in both language, in original Englisch, and also the dubbed Version. Up to Season 6 the Original Version was my favorite, but this wrong pronounced German kills the immersion and authenticity.
As Madrigal Electromotive is a german Company, also with Peter Schuler as the financal supporter of Frings Superlab. German language and its Characters are introduced since Breaking Bad. And the love to the Details was Top notch. Up to the Magarethe incident the germans spoke good German. I do not want to hate on the Actress. But Why so you go for a Hungarian Actress. It makes a difference unless, Magarethe don't has to speak german.

You know what's crazy. My BFF's neighbor had a dog named Osito (Little Bear), so I recognized Lalo's translation from German to Spanish when he was talking to the dog. Although the dog was probably thinking "Dude! My name's Barchen! Not Osito! Who ARE you!!"
Incidentally, the neighbor dog Osito was not a sweet puppy like Barchen, but a total menace who threatened everyone in the neighborhood and killed a bunch of people's chickens. I was always worried for my friend's grand kids as they got old enough to play outside with this crazy dog running loose. But ironically, Osito got run over by a Tyson truck carrying chickens from the hatchery. At the time, I thought it was some weird karma for all the chickens he'd killed (not that the Tyson folks were treating the chickens any better).
But now with this weird Better Call Saul connection that only I have in my mind, I'm halfway expecting the menacing Lalo who is a danger to everyone and calls little German dogs 'Osito' even though their name is Barchen... Lalo's going to wind up getting run over by a Pollos Hermanos truck. My head canon won't let that go. Sweet revenge from the Chicken Man!

Alright, I don't like it, but this is my theory.
    Lalo killed Margherete.
He opened the window so she'd walk over to it and be in the far corner of the room. He probably waited til the window was closed to minimise the sound of the shot. He also needed her to have her back to him so she wouldn't scream.
    How do I know?
Well, I don't. But he used a similar tactic to kill Gus' men: he messed around with the fan on a high window, causing Gus to walk over and look at it. He then emerged from behind and opened fire.

In Germany or Austria, where I am from, or Middle Europe in generell, we don't have those side sliding windows like that in 99% of the buildings, but I never really questions the windows.
    Here is why:
The house looks modern and a bit American in generell, but that could just be the style preference of someone who travels a lot and has almost unlimited financial recourses (for upper middle class) and knows a lot about up-to-date architecture. I also think, from the impression I got from Margarete she is smart and travelled a lot and well capable of bringing a lot of money to the table as well. They probably even where beyond upper middle class. So it seems right for this couple to live in a very modern house, with American style elements.
The size of the house (it seems quite small for what they actually should be able to afford, or as my former landlord would say: it's convenient and cosy) also makes sense, when you think about the fact that Margarete and Werner have no kids and probably love travelling. (Werner mentioned to Mike, that they have no kids.)
So yeah, the windows seem legit. 🙂
    Keep up the brilliant work!
    😀👍
