    These writers wrote such a dark universe, but in one of the darkest scenes with the Howard memorial, they just casually put up Patrick Fabian out-of-context vacation photos. Couldn't help but laugh.

      They're all from his Instagram and one is a modern style selfie. Back in 2004 we just weren't taking photos like that.
      Some conventional cameras had timers on them so you could set them up and get back in frame before it took the photo, but holding it selfie-style wasn't really a thing.

    Kim no longer practicing and leaving this life she got caught up in is the least she could do and is only the beginning for her atonement in my eyes. There is no redemption whatsoever because there's never going to be a context where I think kim is ok as a person now despite what happened. There are some things you just can't do no matter how much you regret it afterwards, and screwing howard's career with no remorse, getting him caught up and killed, then doubling down and lying to his wife's face is unforgivable and Jimmy inadvertently foreshadowed this in the season 5 finale

    • @RenaldyCalixte

      So Kim did the unforgivable thing that ruined her career and prevented her from practicing law ever again. Not just Howard. Wow that's incredible foreshadowing.

    I’m glad Kim is alive, but it’s clear that after everything that she’s experienced, continue to say the lie she and Jimmy created and having to pretend that nothing bad happened that she doesn’t want to be a lawyer and ends things with Jimmy. It’s just amazing to think where Kim was in the beginning of the series to at the point we are now. Out of Jimmy’s life, no longer a lawyer and maybe even out of New Mexico. Kim was the last person, the last thing keeping Jimmy McGill alive. Without her, the last thing that makes him genuinely happy in his life, he’s just going all in on being Saul Goodman and the Criminal Lawyer we know from Breaking Bad and it’s genuinely sad to see happen. A lot of people wondered when he would become Saul, but now that he’s finally Saul full time, I wish he wasn’t Saul as I liked him as Jimmy McGill. Yeah, he made mistakes, but it’s clear he had a good heart and good intentions overall, even when things backfired on him or other people around him. I hope we see Kim again before the season is done as the last conversation Kim and Jimmy had was very hard to watch. Excellent moment for the show. Thank you for the breakdown man, keep up the great work!

    You know, there really is a beauty to watching shows that come out week to week instead of watching them later. Especially with the massive youtube ecosystems that exist around almost every program which end up breaking down every detail. When I was in high school we had "Lost club" where we would discuss Lost with all the honors and AP English kids who were into it, and FUCK man, when season 5 ended with the numbers "2010" blasted on the screen... IN 2008?!? WHEN I WAS 14?!? It was earth shattering, a lifetime away, but then there were these 2 high school years, such defining years, when I met all these people who loved the show as much as I and we discussed it in such detail, no internet, or at least none that we ventured onto as easily as one can youtube today, there were without question message boards and chat rooms for Lost at that time...
    Getting to watch BCS as it comes out, that's amazing. Just like when breaking bad was coming out, except it wasn't this cultural phenomenon with weekly analysis videos and online teasers until season 5 really, when the subreddit was full of daily posts, the equivalent of these videos but made by millions of strangers rather than one or two or three youtubers. More like the comment sections of these videos than the videos themselves.
    Every detail a diatribe, every theory a townhall meeting, every minute between Sundays a reloading of the "New" tab to discuss just a bit deeper.
    Rewatching these shows doesn't hold the same staying power, they aren't as magnificent without the time and reflection, and watching completed shows long after they were released? Ha, I scoff at the emptiness in comparison.
    This is just like Breaking Bad, one of if not the best shows on television. A historic work of art that fits in with the Dostoyevstkys, the Poes, the Platos, the Picassos, this will be a lasting part of media history for all of living human memory, long after we're gone it will STILL be watched and analyzed and loved by generation upon generation opening their eyes to the genius of our era... and yet only WE were here, only WE could experience it like THIS, one episode at a time, one season at a time, one analysis video at a time.
    I hope you all appreciate our place in art history as much as I do. I'm so proud to have lived through and participated in this moment together with all of you beautiful strangers.

    I absolutely adored the pain of Kim realizing her famous finger gun moment, saying to Jimmy's worry that she couldn't live with herself if they scammed Howard "couldn't I?", wasn't true, that Jimmy was right. Of course she couldn't. It was just an attempt to pull the man she loved back from the edge through scamming, as well as just naive thinking it would be the same little thrill as getting rich guys at a bar to buy them expensive drinks or give them big checks... oh the naiveté, the beautiful innocence absolutely obliterated in one silenced gunshot. So painful.

    I knew we never heard Jimmy and Kim say "I love you." before this scene, but I never made the connection to the "Something Stupid" song. That paints their entire relationship in a different light, as we've only seen their love in actions (like Jimmy picking up Kim's papers after her accident at the end of season 3). However, after saying "I love you," everything has been spoiled- like in the lyrics. Brilliant subtle connection by the creators and brilliant observation on your part!

    Yes, absolutely, it must be the first time they say “I love you” especially when you consider the importance of “Something Stupid” to the show. Kim's story has to have an end. We will see her again. Jimmy and Kim's story has been spiraling downward. Another thing about Kim - she was the 'dude' in this relationship. While we assume they were a- "new-ish couple" since they hooked up in the mailroom days, as it's portrayed throughout the show, they only ever have sex when Kim initiates. And she only initiates when things in their professional life are going perfectly, according to her plan. Whenever things aren't perfect with her gig, she is distant from Jimmy and they are never shown having sex. Jimmy would kowtow to her and run around trying to help her work situation (he shows up at those late night sessions when she's in "lawyer jail" doing that shitty job in the basement which Howard made her do ... he works super hard to help her get Mesa Verde as a client for HHM ... he helps her out with the gig in other ways, like that convoluted plan to swap over the Mesa Verde architectural drawings). Kim controlled when they got busy at home. Kim controlled how close they would be as a couple just around the house. If things weren't going 100% her way, she was just a distant miserable cow.

    I think an less mentioned aspect of this episode is now, essentially no one in Jimmy's life remembers Chuck. Howard is dead, Kim's gone, and HHM is defacto non existent. Not only that, it semms the new associates dont know chuck even by reputation. Worse, Jimmy tore the firm down by raising the insurance, tormenting Howard, and then ruining his and the firm's reputation in the mediation con. It's easy to degrade when you tear down all the standards you ever set for yourself, and Jimmy has spent every episode since Chicanery power washing Chuck out of his life, any manifestation of Chucks ideas or legacy.

      @@Sati457 I know that was meant to show how isolated Chuck became, and how he shouldve chosen family over the law, but in 6e7, there was still a living man who thought he was "the greatest legal mind of all time" a firm with his name in it, and a picture, albeit unrecognized, on the wall. Plus hundreds of people, whether they knew it or not, had jobs, salaries, and career opportunities.
      The new associate didn't know him, but when Cliff or Rick or the s4 judge dealt with Hamlin, Hamlin McGill, they would do so at least thinking of the firms meteoric rise and early successes.
      Now even the name is gone, and a half floor firm is piddly, by big law standards. They won't even be taking cases that would make people like Kim or Rick say "oh, yeah, they used to be hamlin hamlin mcgill." The whole name, and every legal accomplishment, is now completely in the past.
      The associate not recognizing chick in s6e7 was the equivalent of a modern day Italian not knowing who Aeneas was. Sure, maybe Aeneas, likeChuck, didn't personally impact Lorenzo the Italian zoomer, but Lorenzo still lives in a place that exists (at least in the myth) due to Aeneas.
      What Jimmy and Kim did was like dropping a nuke on Rome, Venice and Florence, and burning copies of any Italian literature they could find. I bet Rebecca has already forgotten what he looked like.

    Biggest mistake Gilligan/Gould have made with BCS is giving Kim a short-shrift brushoff and inexplicable split with Jimmy. She is a MAJOR new type of character in TV drama and deserves a CLASSIC, even over-the-top ending that shows the irreconcilable conflict with her strong moral code and her will to survive. I would hope a Jimmy/Kim scene worthy of Shakespeare is on the way. Gene Takovic and Omaha are banal distractions from the epic stakes that made BCS a hit with fans.

    Only thing that still puzzles me with this situation is, why? Why did Jimmy and Kim work so hard and diligently to ruin Howard? If I were Howard I would have INSISTED on taking a hair follicle test. The true story of any drug use is the hair. I would have insisted on witness to every step of the process.
    I consider this the biggest plot hole in this story.

    • @SciHeartJourney
      @SciHeartJourney 2 года назад +1

      I happen to fear the hair follicle tests. I know it's "game over" if you're asked to take that kind of drug test. Weed is legal in this state, but companies still want their "drug free" employees. They love poking their snouts in our business, except when it can exonerate you.

    • @pheonix6321
      @pheonix6321 2 года назад +1

      @@SciHeartJourney There was never any scene where Howard was doing any other kind of drug besides alcohol. Even the night he was killed he doesn't even light up a cigarette, but is drunk and still drinking when he shows up at the apartment. Weed isn't legal Federally which any company that operates INTERSTATE, meaning more that 1 State, is bound by that law. Finding a company that is truly operating INTRASTATE, meaning only in 1 State, is pretty much impossible these days. While your local gas station may have 7 locations in your city, they get the gas and other things they sell from out of State, and use Federal Highways to transport those goods. So as a lawyer Howard would understand all of this, and yes would probably go for a hair test. In doing so he would have to put up his own money for it, and in doing so that would take time. The night he picked to show up and say something to Kim and Jimmy/Saul/Gene, was just bad timing. Honestly he could have died on the way there in a car wreck, brought on by a heart attack, brought on from alcohol poisoning, and being caught in a road rage incident, where he was grazed by a bullet, and had an air conditioner fall on his head, after getting hit by a bus.

      His eyes were dilated and his associate noticed. They found cocaine in his car.
      I'm better investigator than that though. I would look in his HOUSE to find stray hairs of his. If they could prove he's not a drug addict, everything about his disappearance suddenly looks suspicious.

    • @esquilax5563
      @esquilax5563 2 года назад

      @@SciHeartJourney nope! Cliff calling BS on his excuses was about him throwing Wendy out of the car, not about drugs.
      His employee who noticed his eyes certainly didn't outright accuse him - that would mean saying explicitly "I think you're on drugs". Of course there were lots of insinuations and suspicions, that's been like half the plot of this season.
      As for the coke in his car, I think you'll find it's pretty difficult to insist on a hair test when you're already dead

    Anyone else thought in the moment that the kiss she gave Jimmy in the parking garage was her being turned on? She got such a charge out of all their schemes and they had sex when the whole sandpiper thing blew up so I was afraid that that long Kiss she gave Jimmy (with tongue) was her being turned on, not her saying goodbye. I thought we'd definitely now be in the last episodes where she turns into Kimmy Corleone (to steal a reference from a youtuber I forget their name? Was it Pete Peppers? I never make predictions and theories of what's gonna happen in a show, like all of these dedicated fans and "experts" make, because, plain and simple:
    A, it's not my "call" as a viewer, B, it destroys all possible fun of watching, and C, it's stupid to try to get inside other people's minds to see what creative solutions can find. If that was the case, then we'll be sitting in the director's chairs and Gilligan and Gould would be viewers.
    Now there's a car in a crossroad and Saul speaking again some words without known context. What would a fan can make of that? I can understand some fans' false expectations because of an episode with no deaths etc, but hey, after all these so-called "sophisticated" fancy predictions which turn out to be ridiculous theories which always fail miserably and could not predict the simplest of all developments (for example that Kim left because she couldn't just stand herself and what had she became), there are people who still talking about "What will be happen next?" and "Will we see Kim again?" and "Where is Kim in Gene's timeline?"
    I don't care, there aren't real people, it's fiction. I'm watching it only for the fun of spending my time for a class AAA+ art product that can be seen like the visual continuation of the 'Great American Novel' -and don't get me wrong, an art product that makes you think about it is awesome, [Note: "The Wire" makes us think about it, but in a what a totally different level: so many social and political issues, all packed in 50 minutes episodes.]
    So, yes, I'm letting the writers to take me wherever they want and I never make predictions and theories
    Just enjoy it, this is what matters.
