I raised an eastern grey squirrel and let her go about two months ago and she still visits so I can give her snacks and scratch her side (she really loves it) Also she hates every other human which is good for her survival.
@@pippi2285 no they don't, what they actually do is out compete them,by eating the same food. Although gray squirrels are a lot less fussy about food than reds
Compassion is not unmanly. Not being able to look after others than your self is unmanly. Also unwomanly, but somehow, that has never been an issue. We mammals have strong nurturing instincts - strong enough to bridge the gap between speciesm - and the instinct is not gender-based, but can be strengthened or weakened during our upbringing. Plus, red squirrels are without the cutest animal I know. True story :)
Hurricane Katrina was in New Orleans, so how did the squirrels wind up over in England? Despite my geographical confusion, I loved watching these beautiful babies play with their Mother.
Oh my GOODNESS watching them all fall asleep at the same time wrapped around each other like human siblings do just made my heart melt! I wouldn't be able to let them go!
Omg I just grinned from ear to ear the whole time I watched this. So cute, & this woman is doing god's work to take such good care of them & then release them back to the trees & freedom.
I had two tiny squirrels whom we saved and kept at home n treated like our own babies. They were so active n naughty so we named one as naughty n d other one as sweety. I can call it as my happiest days n watching them always never made me bored. Trust me they are the cutest ones. They both died. one due to an accident n the other was sick... Miss them so much...
yeah the're pretty cute, but the coolest animals for me are still flying squirrels. Just imagine how cool life would be if you could use your own fur as a wingsuit :)
Thank you so much for uploading this caring expose about raising a batch of baby red squirrels; just gorgeous, and they wouldn't have made it without your help. Such an endangered group need all the help they can get. Delightful.
I live in Northern Ontario, in Canada. and theres tons of these little wild guys. They are cute but they can be little pests, and by pests I mean they get under siding, get into insulation, and stuff like that. They don't mean to be pests they just try to find new spots for their nests and find materials to make their nests.
Oh the little hammock for the squirrel to sleep in! They are lucky squirrels, this lady is a fabulous squirrel mom! Yes, those little tufts on the ears get me too.
I raised orphaned grey squirrels when I was a kid. I had five, they were the most fun I experienced that summer. When I walked into my room they would dive on me and chase each other around (btw they have sharp claws). Never bit me, just played and slept.
How lovely ,Cute n Gorgeous, You're really kind and very Nice...WoW still humans walking on earth...fabulous! Gives me hope... Poor little Lovelies! Thanks for taking care for them n posting! Take Good Care.
MissPurpur Not if they are released correctly. There is a hard release or soft release option with wildlife. Most injured wildlife are fine with a hard release, which is literally open the door and let them go. Orphaned wildlife that has been handreared like my squirrels, can't be hard released as they have to learn how to find their own food etc, so they have a soft release. These squirrels were a late litter, so wouldn't have had time to cache a larder to get them through the winter. So they were put in a pen in the garden where they were originally found and looked after over the winter, with minimal human contact. In late spring the door to the pen was opened and they were left to their own devices as to whether to leave or stay, but food was constantly left for them, long after they left the pen, until they learned self sufficiency.
That is great, so interesting they explore and look about all day then just like any toddler they get tired by days end, ready for a good rest. Animal rehabilitation is important work.
I was gonna lose my s*** before she said she was gonna reintroduce them. Thank you so much for being responsible madam. And thank you Dodo for giving publicity to the right kind of animal lovers.
When it comes to squirrels, red squirrels are probably some of my favorites. Both the European/British variety and the ones we have in America. As far as I am aware I've only seen red squirrels here where I live though I'll have to have a closer look.
+Halcyon Industries (KerianH) the european ones are somehow cuter than the british ... they are a bit darker/red and no white spot ... just super adorable

As an animal lover, I love all species even those considered to be vermin and I get very sad when I hear people say the greys are killing the reds, because it just isn't as simple as that. We have known for years that the greys were out-competing the reds and we've ignored it, now we have this big drive to try and save them, when in my opinion it's too little too late.
I am surprised the cat doesn't kill them. But I hope all the little ones are out own there own at this time since they grow so fast. I wish an updated video would be shown if they adapted to life outside the house.
Makes me very sad that her children left her and she is very lonely. At this age her children should be visiting her all the time. It’s what I really appreciate about Indian and Chinese culture that they look after their folks.

@@helentee9863 they do carry squirrel pox which inadvertently kills reds as they’re not immune to it.
Lady you are the greatest ....they melt my heart to
where do they melt your heart to?
i agree - red squirrels are certainly one of the cutest (& people can be really mean to them) - i love them
They will DEAFEAT the evil of the gray squirrel
When the sleepy squirrel's head was being stroked, I think every shred of manliness inside of me suddenly vanished.
I know how you feel, I instinctively reached for my balls to make sure I still had them.
Me to

Caring for & protecting others is the best ideal of manliness.

They are so cute! So lucky to have found a great foster home who knows they belong in the wild! Good for you Eileen!

I think the word "cute" just isn't enough to describe these animals. We have to invent a new word for it :D
agree there super cute
still not enough :D

Wouldn't it be dangerous for them to be released if they grew up in captivity!?

We have adopted a lot of animals from England, but the squirrel was not one.
Fox, yes.
I need to drive a powerstroke lift weights shoot guns and listen to heavy metal after this video....

Red squirrel nap time = off the radar cuteness
...the lovely squirrel lady. They just "go nuts" over her!
They climb her the way the squirrels around here climb trees!
OMG! they sleep together :')
So cool I love our red .Freedy!

My cats are very used to small furry critters in the house and basically take no notice of them.
awww
This video made me so happy😂
so sweet!!
Red squirrel orphans! Aw, poor little fellers...
That cat is really quite docile.
Forever Alone.
Omg so cute!
their fucking ADORABLE yet quite vicious given the chance
So they were in New Orleans(USA) and Hurricane Katrina destroyed their home and now they're in England? Makes sense.
Ah, dang. Well, have fun in college, it's 1:14am here atm, and I should be doing my functions assignment. Time for bed. Haha.
0:37 Cat's all like: "I'm the luckiest bastard alive, look at all the emergency rations / chew-toys my human keeps around."
Why does this remind me of a fairy tale?
That tune at 0:00 freaked me out 0_0
Those squirrels are so tiny compared to the fat grey ones we have in Canada
