West Virginia is such a criminally underrated state for natural beauty. It's about time that state was awarded a full-on National Park. There's about a zillion of those out west, and West Virginia rivals western states in terms of rugged beauty.

Normally, I hate when anything human-built is noticed in a natural area. But New River Gorge's bridge somehow actually compliments and heightens the beauty of the gorge below it. Almost the way the Golden Gate Bridge heightens the beauty of San Francisco Bay meeting the ocean. Or the way Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater outside Pittsburgh actually heightens the beauty of the waterfall at its base. The designer, Michael Baker, deserve credit for the optics of the bridge being so pleasing.

I love this place. Been there and have 2 CD’s how the bridge was built. It’s a great place to visit. It’s a great place to take a family trip to. Enjoy all. I did. Thanks for posting this. You did great. I was there about 5 years ago going to Pa.

None of the videos mention the C&O railroad running down the gorge. It is the line of John Henry fame. Watching trains is great fun.

November is too late for fall foliage. Mid Oct is better.

@@markc5771 It was an enjoyable trip, a little too much rain, but good. We enjoyed the Bridgewalk tour. If you're ok with heights, it's worth the money.

@@asadventures_moriicoddiwomple What else did you guys see? Are there any nearby mountain summit roads or railroad summit trips?
I'm coming down from Massachusetts. I don't want to miss the good stuff :D

@@markc5771 We camped at Glades Creek Campground. It was very small, but next to the river. We visited the Canyon Rim Visitor Center. We also drove the Fayette Station Road that takes you down to cross the river below the NRG Bridge. That's worth the drive with informative stops along the way. We were going to hike the Endless Wall trail, but they closed our campground due to some railroad work, so we had to move to a nearby State Park to the south. We drove to Sandstone Falls to enjoy that area on our last day. It was pretty interesting and at flood stage. Quite a lot of water!
