Hi Alex, thanks for uploading a technical video about the KOWA, I recently bought a MM but not yet arrived, aside from the Multi-exposure & Mirror Lock function, will you say it has any upgrade on inside to make it more reliable when compare to the original KOWA SIX? Thanks!

      Thank you!
Sadly no, inside it’s not an upgrade, just more complicated on the winding side.
When your camera arrives, if it has lens mounted, try to cock the shutter and then remove the lens, test the body and lens separately before test together.

@@alexvarascameras Thank you so much for the reply, anything to keep an eye on when using the camera? beside on using the knob instead of the crank?

Well… they say that about the crank just to not apply much torque to the winding, I would say the difference between the crank and the knob is bot so big when talking about winding but it might have sense if you want a better frame spacing. The counter is moved by friction between the film and the big roller inside, winding fast and the friction could be less so it could lead to overlapped frames. My advice in any camera is just wind gently, don’t rush.
Biggest advice on Kowas is if something feels stuck, don’t apply force, something will break if you keep trying badly.
Test body and lens separately, use a test roll just with the body, then test it with lens.
If body/lens were not serviced recently don’t use them under 10-5 degrees, everything will be deadly slowed by dry and cold grease.
