I really admire Katie with setting financial goals.. like when she bought her own phone and now her own car. It's just funny that she was surprised by a car that she actually paid for.. haha but ever since I've started watching their vlogs, I feel like I'm part of their journey too. I'm here more than 4yrs now.. =)

At first I was like wait, there’s no way Mike and Jill would have bought Katie a car 😂 and then when Katie explained that she had been saving money for a Jeep for a long time, it made so much more sense and that is a BIG accomplishment! My daughter set expectations for my granddaughter to meet over a span of several years such as excel at school, a school sport, community service, etc. she started this at a young age to teach her responsibility, paying it forward, and working hard for something. At the age of 17 my granddaughter was given a slightly used car of her choice. She takes better care of the car than most adults. She worked hard all those years and she reaped the benefit of her hard work. Good thing she did because she is entering her second year of college towards a law degree specializing in crimes against children. Happy Birthday to Katie. Drive careful and buckle up!!!

@@justusthierry8529 it’s extremely hard to know not to envy and want what others had, like I wish my parents could pay or help pay of college, or that I had a car, or that I could have continued my gymnastics but money wasn’t never there.

@@triciarivera3671 Her family has money so she didn’t have to pay for her sports or phone, or braces, or surgeries so she was able to save enough money. And to save enough for that type of car is impressive for a 17 year old. But she was able to do any sport or activity she wanted to do. I’m not saying she doesn’t deserve a car or nice life. But I don’t have to be grateful for my childhood, my parent were not smart with their money we almost went homeless. I have quit sports throughout my child that I loved and I was only attending once a week because that’s what we could afford. I lived in a orphanage for four years, im 18 years old and already 18,000 dollars in debt because of college.
My parents got me a huge Lexus suv when I got my drivers permit. Reading the comment makes me know that I guess I’m just lucku

i got surprised with my own car a couple months ago when i finished my first year of college! it was so unreal, and i wasn't expecting it at all. it was an amazing surprise and i still can't believe it happened

Ahh I’m so jealous. I want one of those Jeep’s so bad but the Jeep Wranglers aren’t very common in Ireland.
There are a couple for sale in Scotland they are not cheap though £16,000 for a red 2008 model and £20,000 for a green 2009 model It would be a bit of hassle but you could fly over and get the ferry back home or pay a transport company to move it for you
The 2009 one has done 37,618 miles

@@paulahamilton7290 I’ve seen one or two here but yeh very expensive. Besides I’m only at the beginning of the process of getting my license so it’ll be a while before I need my own car anyways.
The green one is mint it looks great! Its a lot of money though you could have a brand new Fiesta corsa or astra for that price but I would advise getting one thats a couple of years old for almost half that price again! And with a fresh valet it will feel like a brand new car anyway!

Both of my parents had a 2002 Jeep for almost 15 years. My mother sold it towards a friend of the family. I drove it for the last time on January 1st,2017. I remembered driving it when it was new with my father. I was nervous with him in the Jeep with me. In 2002 that I was almost 3 years of driving back in 2002. Luckily the Jeep was an automatic. Even my father had another Jeep that was a 1983 CJ-7. That one was also an automatic,too. My sister used to drove the older one in the early 90’s. Even the newer one as a loaner vehicle from my parents with her husband to drive around in.
