How to CHOOSE a Statistical Chart (4-6)

Bar Chart shows frequency or percentages for categorical data. Pie Chart shows relative frequency or percentages for categorical data. Histogram shows frequency and shape of quantitative data. Stem-and-Leaf Display shows both frequency and shape of quantitative data while preserving raw scores. Stacked Bar Chart compares the percent frequency (or rel. ƒ) of two categorical variables. Side-by-Side Bar Chart compares two variables. Scatter Plot shows the relationship between two quantitative variables (a.k.a. scatter diagram). Regression Line approximates the relationship of data in a scatterplot (a.k.a. trendline).
